while i don't think the BLANK is the jumari, i do think that they will play a part in the books yet, i remember reading The Eye of the World and thinking, wowo, they're too kool to be wasted...and then the forsaken talking about 3rd agers not even having a scoobie about what they turn into....it aludes to wheeeeeeeey too much i think, subtly yes but it's there.

As for the BLANK, trolloc city sounds realy good and almost possible, it's not morridin's fortress i'm sure of that...dragon idea seems cool but a litlle far fetched and just...meh.

Realy what i'm trying t say is, I HAVE NO CLUE, But can't wait to find out.

I'm disinclined to believe that it is something so simple as a portal stone or a couple of waygates because...well...why would that be such a big deal? Don't we already KNOW that they have waygates? The blight didn't always reach as far as it does now, and it has consumed plenty of cities/countries over the years. As for portal stones, well, I had always assumed there was a chance there would be one in the blight. They could have ended up anywhere after the breaking, so why not there?

It's possible that it could be one of those things, but why would that be something Harriet wouldn't know about? No, I think it's something much more important than that. I wonder if there are any clues to it anywhere.

Personally I don't see a "city" being a bad idea, but I doubt it'd be a trolloc city. More likely a city from the AoL, with working machinery/technology that the Shadow has access to, or something along those lines.

[side Note: Actually there was something in the Encyclopaedia WoT that referenced Demandred thinking that AoL tech could be made near Shayol Ghul (WH ch 13 and the "Items from the Age of Legends" page). Unfortunately I think they misinterpreted the sentence in question , so I got excited for nothing. For those curious, the sentence reads: "They could as soon make shocklances or sho-wings as a view-wall outside of this place, close to Shayol Ghul" (pg 356 in the 2002 US paperback). Taken out of context I can see how this could be interpreted as there being a place to make those items near Shayol Ghul, but Demandred was wondering why Graendal would want "a reminder of what was lost," so the sentence essentially means that those technologies would never be seen again. The "outside of this place, close to Shayol Ghul" was just a means to describe what grand vistas the view-wall was replacing. So much for that momentary lead :( ]

I hope it's not something silly like a nuclear missile.

Perhaps...

"What is it, Rand," Nynaeve said, giving her braid a soft tug while she inspected the object.

Rand waved his stump to silence her. "Let me think." Was this something Lews Therin had known of? It did look vaguely familiar. It looked like... like... Images flashed across his mind, full of knowledge thought lost for three thousand years. Light! How had this survived? "It's a teleporter," Rand said, rubbing his stump across the cool metal. "It's a teleporter to a base on the Moon! The Shadow had a Trolloc factory there, in the early days of the war...."

Nynaeve gasped. "Light! That must be where all the Trollocs come from. It all makes so much sense, now!"

Rand- no wait it's just a two slice toaster with four heat settings, defroster that doesn't work and a handy tray for the crumbs.

Nynaeve- a toaster?! What is toaster?

Min- yeah Ron, sorry, Rand. What is toaster?

Moraine- Yeah Rand, tell us. What is toaster?

Rand- No wait it's a time travelling device. You see if you pop down the, extremely mouldy, bread it-

*cue lamo effects*

Min- Where are we Ron, sorry, Rand?

Rand- a time that land forgot. Oh wait scratch that and reverse it. Don't do anything, it could have unimaginable results that would be very hard to write as their unimaginable.

Nynaeve- I've just balefired a huge lizard with spindly arms and a big jaw.

Rand- Balemistake. It's okay it happens.

Moraine- I ate a candle.

Rand- here we go back, let's hope all is fine.

*blinkedy blonk*

Rand- Hey you with the sword and the haircut.

Guy with haircut- yeah?

Rand- whose you when your at hone?

Haircut- I'm Richard Rahl.

Nynaeve- Ah nuts.

Dear WoT,

I would like to complain about the use of non fantasy characters in these 'humourous episodes'. It's not right!

ps- Richard Rahl is a hunk.

It's Moridin's stash of three thousand year old AOL porn, preserved in a stasis box. He's been looking for it every chance he gets and has gone half mad as a result. It will be instrumental in deciding Tarmon Gaidon when Rand finds it, and Moridin betrays the Dark One to have it back. Thus ends the Wheel of Time...

Seriously, I suspect whatever it is, will play a pivotal role in the same way the Eye of the World did. If we take that Robert Jordan wrote TEOTW uncertain if he would get a chance at a sequel and be able to tell his story; so he compressed it all into TEOTW, then the Eye should have been revealed much later on (if it had been a multi book series at the beginning).

I'm gonna say it is probably the original equipment/research facility from which Mierin and Beidomon drilled into the Bore. Somehow it will play a role in the resealing.

In regards to the EotW, before actually writing the EotW, or at least before the publishing, he had the outlined events and the eventual ending already written down. He always planned on it being a multi-volume series. I think it was orignially thought to be a trilogy, but when EotW was written, he had a 6 book contract. So he knew that it would be fairly large(I am not 100% sure on the numbers, but its along those lines) So i thikn the eye was always going to be introduced early.

As for the theory, could be.

continuing with the eye of the world thing... how is it that a place can move throughout the blight? an actual place? everyone says it is always in a different place, never the same place twice sort of thing, and also the you cant find it twice. not only that but it was an actual well... perhaps the well is still there and it will require rand using that well since you cannot channel near shayol ghul? just another thought.

I know "city" doesn't sound as cool as "mega sa'angreal" or "warren of tainted blight-bunnies", but I really hope it's a city. RJ loved creating new cultures and it's been a major part of WoT, and saving such a unique new culture like this for the last books feels right.

I think it's gotta be something that explains how DO is able to affect the pattern, whether it's a TP Choedan Kal like I've suggested a few times or something different. To me, that makes the most sense at least. There's probably a trolloc village, fortress, etc somewhere in the Blight - I just don't think that's what (blank) refers to.

This has me wondering if the EotW won't be used to close the dark one's prison.

The theory that the TP will be used never sat right with me, since the DO could just deny it to Rand/Morridin/everyone If they tried it, among other reasons.

But the EotW was a well of pure, untainted sadin. If it was refilled, maybe by a circle of 3 (three become one) it could be used to touch the DO. Then the only thing that would get tainted is the Eye, which is separate from the source.

On topic... I have no idea what the (blank) is. I'm not sure that it actually required "two hours" to describe, just that RJ talked for two hours about the book, and how the blank in the Blight related to it, but there is no saying he stopped talking when he got too far off the topic of the blank. Or maybe it was all about it. No idea! :)

The Eye is spent, nobody's going to use it for anything now.

It's a big massive cold storage container with future pork in.

For Light's sake don't let Narg in there.. :narg: No he should be ok, his brain isn't silicon.

Thank the light! He's samrt enough for a trolloc. Smart enough for family fortunes.

Presenter: Now this is for the car and the family trip for four to everyones favourite seaside resort, The Shadow Coast. Now name a character from the popular fantasy series, The Wheel of Time.

Narg: Narg smart. Narg say Narg.

Presenter: You say Narg. Surveys says.... Narg!!!!

What about instead of a physical thing (i.e. city or character) what about something that is happening? I can easily imagine RJ saying something like "There is a REBELLION in the blight." Who wouldn't be surprised? Perhaps started by someone on the inside?

Just a thought....
