Not really a contradiction Alys. I believe they are spread out, but since Adella flipped mafia (death post ftw!), COUPLED with your crazy reaction denials.

I've already used my viewing, but I would like someone to double check Alys too.

I don't think it would be wise for a person to say who they are gonna view or even if they are gonna use their view.  All this will do is set up a big WIFOM example- " I'm gonna view Alys tonight!"  I die during the night.  1) Did Alys kill me to hide who she is?  2) Would Alys actually kill me knowing this will make her a suspect? 3) Maybe she knows that is what we will think and knows we won't think she's stupid enough to do it? 4) The mafia take me out to make us think all of the above.      Get what I'm sayin?

That makes sense, Tigs, but what is the alternative? Let 4 or 5 people waste their views on the same person? Even if she is scum, that only benefits the mafia. As good as they are, I can't totally dismiss the idea that Barm and Alys could have cooked this up just to have that happen. Gods! I hate WIFOMs!

I don't know what other option there is but didn't somebody already say they had viewed her?  Barm maybe?  If we are gonna double check everyone's viewings then what is the difference?

Posted

It's because she says she's not Bonda Perrada, and Barm says he viewed her and that she is.

I'm all for lynching her tomorrow, or someone VKing her tonight, because I'm more inclined to believe Barm over Alys just from what I've seen so far, but if other people want to have someone view her to settle the dispute over whether or not she's really Bonda Perrada.... *shrugs*

Posted

I was just wanting to understand.  Nobody wanted to double-check Lily, did Barm do something that I missed that would make us trust him less then we do everyone else  :D

Posted

Did someone view Lily?  I don't remember....

Well, Lily viewed Adella.  Got the result: "Bonda Perrada."  Not only did Pandy also view Adella and therefore confirm this, but Adella herself admitted to being of the Bonda Perrada faction.

Alys is the only one to dispute the result of someone's viewing of her so far.  With everyone else, we either don't know who viewed them or else they haven't argued with the results.

So, Alys saying Barm's wrong, and Barm saying he's not, is unusual so far.

What I want to know, Alys, is if you're not Bonda Perrada, what faction ARE you?  Since faction doesn't mean the same thing as alignment, surely that shouldn't be a big deal to share with us.

Posted

first, Wes that was an awesome scene :)  and even better because she did flipped scum.  I agree with Al, 1:1 isn’t bad for being on night 2.

Awesome. What I'm looking at here is the and. "Bonda Perrada AND mafia". It's not just a straight "Bonda Perrada, mafia". Still, I think it merits lynching another Bonda to see if we have the same result.

Agreed.  We can’t know whether this was a lucky find or if were onto something unless we lynch one or two more Challenger supporters and continue getting a scum alignment; or if we lynch a Ministry supporter or Captain and they come out Scum

curiously, no one else has mentioned this. barms waited even longer than lily to reveal. why? what does this say?

I feel the same about his reveal as I do Lily’s reveal on Adella.  I’m more inclined to believe it because it was done with him not being under pressure.  It seems like he might have been with holding the info until Adella’s alignment was revealed to see if his viewing warranted going after you with both guns blazing.

Since there was a back & forth started about your scummiest and Adella was certain to be lynched he decided then it would be best to reveal his info to lend more support to the building argument against you.

Imo I’m one that likes to err on the side of caution and have another viewer or VK settle this matter.  If your faction is anything else than Bonda then we will know there is something fishy with Barm or our views.

My first thought when reading it was the same as Aemon's 'Bonda Peradda AND Mafia'

Actually what would be good would be to find a mafia that WASN'T Bonda Peradda. But the viewings don't seem to be providing too much info on the way of Alignment.

The only trouble we have is that if someone else views Alys, they could either be her mafia team mate and back her up, or mafia and stitch her up. If someone Views Alys, maybe view Barm as well! All it does though is say who they support, not if they are mafia or not.  :-\

Alys, not sure why he took so long...to try and group you in with her if he knew she was mafia (ie. with her) So that it would make an easy lynch of you tomorrow!? He only came out after suspicisions had been raised about you. At least I think it was!

^^ agreed on every point.  And you bring up a really good point.  We should have them both viewed to find out their factions.

A very good point as well and one I agree with.  I get exactly what your saying.

We can’t rule out the possibility someone is setting up Alys (as she’s claiming) pointing out which one of us is viewing her would only help them secure a lynch on her.  I’d rather us not lose too many townies if we can help it, seeing as Wes has said we want as many alive as possible for the voting.

Given Barms certainty on Alys (as well as her own scumminess), if you say out right who is viewing her and that person comes up dead; she’ll yell FRAME and we’ll all roll our eyes, claim WIFOM and lynch her.

Also, a VK (depending on her faction and alignment) on Alys would set Barm up for a lynch.  If she flips Captian and town we’ll run a lynch on Barm.  And if Barm is a townie then we lose two really good players on our side because the Manipulators are pulling the strings and laughing their asses off.

Imo, information is much better than action in this case.

True, or they could both be town with someone pulling the wool over our eyes.

But if we’re gonna assume Barms and Alys are working together, we also have to assume you and Adella worked up a similar plot (doubtful, but still possible ;) ).  Personally I’d rather believe it’s a 3rd party involved or that only one of them is scum.

For the record, since he hasn't bothered showing up to play, I feel comfortable in saying this. I'm a Captain who wins with the town, and I am a mason with Reyoru. This can likely be verified once Wes does a call and response action and he doesn't bother show up.

Barm, you make it hard to mistrust you, and I really, really want to.  :P

I was about to say that I agree on viewing both of them, but we can't be far from our first Call & Response, so maybe Barm's idea is a good one. Why waste a view?

Believe me.. that thought crossed my mind.. because I find it hard to believe out of everyone playing that Lily would have randomly chosen Adella to view.  Why not Pete, Alys, Barm?

I do very little that's random, Nae. Alys was obviously going to be viewed by someone else (and she was.) Barm is not setting off alarm bells for the first time since his Small Furde days for me. Pete - I need more time to assess him. I THINK he's scum, but I need more time. When I'm sure, I'll be sure, and well, I still have a way to deal with him if I want to, right?

Something I've been wondering. You said that dead players can't vote for a candidate... However does a vote count in the end if a player casts their vote before they die?

DPR has talked on several occasions about a blood bath among other things. For our secret ballot vote can we send it in now and change it at a later time?

I think if we are going to lose a lot of innocents it might be better to all have a vote now and change it as we get more information so that those innocents that die can have their vote in...

Still waiting for someone to mediate between the two of them. I honestly think your both innocent and have walked into an elaborate trap... but that's just me *Shrugs*

Edit for Lily: Yes and I said it long ago... let me find the quote.

The dead have no vote.

jager is bad. jager is bad. jager is bad.

i skimmed, will go back and take notes and answer stuff when the world is a better feeling place aka no longer spinning.

meesh, if i'm not bonda and i missed the captain thing, what on earth does that make me? 1+1 still equals 2, right? i thought it was obvious enough to not have to say. guess i was wrong.

Umm, I kind of wanted to know what the name was, actually, since the only faction names I've heard are "Bonda Perrada" and "Captain."

We call whatever you are "Beva Perrada Supporters" or "Minister's Men."  That's probably not the official name, is it?

I just want to know, no need to get snarky about it.

The Minister watched as the Beva Perrada shook the hands of the other Captains. With some he clasped forearms, and the Minister made a mental note of these.

It was late, and his eyes burned from lack of sleep. He nodded silently to Raillon and the two left together without bidding a good night to the chosen candidate.

Once they had reached the Minister’s quarters, he turned to Raillon.

“I don’t need to warn you, my old friend. You know as well as I that the killing will begin soon. Take all of the precautions necessary to protect yourself.”

Raillon smiled.

“And you do the same, sir. I’m not comfortable with any of this business. Not one bit, I tell you…none of it.”

“And that is why I trust your counsel above all. Sleep well. I fear tomorrow may bring ill news, and we’ll need all of our wits about us then.”

The Minister turned down the hall to his quarters, alert to any sign that another might be near, waiting.  His hand gripped the hilt of his Sinta blade, ready to whisk the steel from its scabbard in a heartbeat…

But there was no need. He turned the corner and nodded to the guards. They nodded in return. He pushed open the heavy wooden door, closed it behind him and engaged the lock.

Then he turned toward the fireplace and saw that the blaze had burned low. His eyes burned again at the thought of how late it was, and he rubbed them as he walked toward his sleeping quarters.

Tossing his blades onto the bed, he turned toward a shadowed alcove and spoke in a low voice.

“I know you are there. Do not think that I am so old that I missed that…”

Helys stepped from the shadows, a smile across her face.

“I know you would never miss something like that, just as you know I would never let anything happen to you that I can prevent.”

His daughter hugged him close, and it was the most comfort he had felt all day.

He spoke, still holding her close to him.

“I need you to look out for poor Raillon as well. I can’t afford to lose…”

She looked up at him, titling her head just a bit.

“We’ve been protecting him the whole time, of course.”

He smiled, “Of course”.

There was a decanter of wine on the bureau next to his bed. He poured himself a glass. “Does the Witch Counsel request anything of me?”

She shook her head.

“No. The Counsel trusts you implicitly, though there is some concern over the man you have chosen to replace you.”

He savored the deep tones of the wine for a moment, letting the flavors settle over his palate.

“Ah, but the like the Bova Perrada candidate less, I’ll wager.”

She nodded, “Yes, that is putting it mildly.” She paused. “There is something else…”

He looked at her and saw the concern in her eyes. She spoke, and there was true worry in her voice.

“Somebody has used one of the Godstones.”

He gave a low whistle, “Well now, that is a concern. Do you know who?”

“Not yet, but we will. And it won’t take us long.  You know what that means.”

He nodded.

“It means we have very little time left before The Hall tears itself apart.” He threw back the rest of the wine and set the empty glass down on the bureau.

“You look tired.”

He nodded again, this time slowly, “I am.” He looked at her. “I need to sleep. So do you.”

She smiled. “Oh, I’m much more well rested than you. I’ll be taking my sleep during the day for the time being so that I can protect you at night. Get some rest, and know that nothing will be able to disturb you. You need it, and The Hall needs you.”

Her eyes took on a deep blue glow as she brought up the power from the stone she held.

“Sleep. You and Raillon are safe tonight.”

He didn’t argue. He knew his daughter was more than powerful enough to keep that promise. She reminded him so much of her mother, and his heart ached as he thought of her, the memory of her still strong after all of these years.

But the ache only lasted for a moment. Then he was asleep.

Woohoo, finally caught up! I started my read 2.5 hours ago :P I know it's my fault but I really had to read when I could pay attention.

If we believe that the Mafia is spread out among different groups of people, perhaps those who are in a group should check each other to make sure they are innocent and can trust their mason buddies.

Sounds like there is some mistrust even for the Ministers' candidate, reaffirming I think that we can't be sure based solely on who supports who, that they are Mafia. I guess we'll see, that's what I took from the post.

I'll be a little late tonight with the scene - shouldn't be past 9:30 though.

Make sure all night actions are in by 8 sharp!

The Minister opened his eyes. Sunlight streamed in through the windows, the morning already well under way.

He quickly looked to Helys, who stared back at him through normal eyes.

“What time is it? Why didn’t you wake me?” He looked down to see that he was still in his boots from the night before. She smirked.

“Because you needed the sleep, and only three died.”

His mind was catching up quickly.

“How many other attempts were there?”

“Eight. But as always, the people of The Hall seem to be proficient at protecting themselves.”

His mind spun. Three deaths and eight other attempts, and this was just the beginning. There was too much time before the election…

He sat up, rubbing his face in his hands.

“Raillon will be here shortly. He’s bringing coffee.”

The Minister nodded, “How did the three die?”

Helys looked thoughtful for a moment. “That’s a concern. One, Rey, seems to have been caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. His throat was cut, but there was no passion in the kill. Al Jenn is different though, he was definitely targeted by someone. What we found on him makes me wonder about that…

She paused for a moment, then finished.

“But ed was the worst. He was clearly the victim of a Bonestone attack.”

The Minister cursed under his breath. He had hoped it would not come to this, and he certainly never saw it coming this soon…

REY, A CAPTAIN AND TOWN, HAS BEEN KILLED.

AL JENN, BONDA PERRADA AND MAFIA, HAS BEEN KILLED

ED, BONDA PERRADA AND MAFIA, HAS BEEN KILLED.

It is now Day 3. You must vote to use any night actions.

You must vote to use any night actions.

And to think I had a nice long theory about why we had to vote.  I deleted it.  :P
