Darthe 2 of those roles already exist

Godfatherizer = Framer

Sacrifice = bodyguard

I think Darthe's idea of Godfatherizer allows for the role to target a mafia if they wish, and make them view as town that night. (Thus the role name.) Framer would only target town and make them view as mafia.

not necessarily Basel, the two times i've been on a scum team with a framer, the framer could target their scum mates as well.

I think what he's suggesting is a Framer/Lawyer mix. So if he targets mafia they appear innocent but if he targets town they appear guilty.

which is exactly how the Framing role is used.

yes you can Nol, i can't state that anymore plainly that what i already have.

You can target them I guess if you're trying to fool a tracker or whatever but it is not going to make them appear innocent to cops. That is not what a Framer does. It's in the name even. A Framer makes someone look guilty to cops. That is the power a Framer has. A Lawyer does the opposite, making someone look innocent when they are actually guilty. And what Darthe made up is a merging of the two roles.

Red, that's not how I understand the role, or have used it as a mod. It's just to frame a townie, in my experience. I guess people can do whatever they want as mods, but that's not the way I've seen it.

Lily - Reys Ceaser game i was framer on our team and could target our team mates and make them appear town.

i believe the other i am thinking about is BG's Earthbound game, or one played before that over in SG last year.

and it was either my scooby doo game or my gilligans island game where the framer could do the same.

directly form the mafia wiki

The most common variant of Framer is Tailor, which can also target scum to have them investigate favorably to Cops. (It's called Tailor because it effectively tailors results to the user's liking.)

Nol - the essences of the Framer role is to make a finders viewings inaccurate.  either by making town appear as scum & scum appear as town.  it is well within the role of the Framer to be un-restricted in which side they target as all their role does is change the persons alignment they target for that night and only for viewing purposes.

as i said, i've seen different variations used, but they ALL had the same flavor name.

Red, the part about Tailors was edited into the wiki in 2011 which wasn't that long ago considering how long mafia has been around. And anyway that variant may be the most common variant...but it's not actually common to deviate from the NORMAL Framer role. If people are using that variant and actually calling it "Framer" instead of "Tailor" they really shouldn't be as that breeds confusion. They are different roles.

Technically you guys are correct that it is a framer of sorts but it doesn't play as one for several reasons, not the least of which being that it will trick gunsmiths, LD's, role cops, and other investigative roles.  Besides which, Nol is correct in the above stating that Framer and Tailor have become interchangeable while they are in actuality separate roles.  I couldn't figure out how to put one into the game and get the exact role that I wanted so I made a cure-all.  In any case, I am most excited about the redoubler (may need to work on the name, thinking of calling it a Duchy, Counter, Duke, or Wobbuffet if the name doesn't stick, but it is actually french for increase).

Thanks lily

Daps Soul Sucker

Each night they choose two players and steal their souls, rendering them Vanilla. They win when every player is vanilla.

Upon winning/being converted/lynched/NKed, all souls (roles) are randomly returned within the living soulless team pools. Town roles go back to town, mafia to mafia. (And players that die after their soul has been taken will also have their role removed from the pool)

I had an idea for a role

A gambler - it is sort of a modified JOAT role.  Each night the mod rolls a die to determine what power the gambler will have for example...

mod rolls d4 - if mod rolls -

1. Gets a cop view

2. Gets a doc view

3. Gets a vig shot

4. Is vanilla

So each night, the player would have a different ability or some would switch - any thoughts?

How about a "double or nothing" gambler role

you choose someone (say the cop) and they get asked if they wanna risk their role, double or notjing.

Odds can be ehatever approprriate for the game

if.they win they get 2 NAs. If not theu get none

I've seen roles like the "Gambler" before.  I had several abilities, and had to choose a # each night to see which one I got.  Not a dice roll, but the same level of chance as I didn't know which # was which role.
