Calling all closet Food Network TV addicts!  Anyone who's watched an episode of Iron Chef knows it's perfectly set up for mafia -- a select field of Iron Chefs do battle with the rest of the culinary world.  There's always a winner and a loser (except for the rare ties which just feel so cheap and won't be happening here).

 

But what you don't see is how irritated the Iron Chefs get when they lose.  Oh, yes, they smile, shake hands, congratulate graciously when on camera, but as soon as the curtain falls they stalk off in a huff.  The Chairman is sick and tired of broken dressing room mirrors, stink bombs in the judges' box, explicatives carved into the walls outside the challengers' dressing rooms, and Alton Brown's underwear showing up in all kinds of strange and unexpected places.  (He's pretty sure that last one is the Iron Chefs too.)

 

The Chairman believes the time has come for the Iron Chefs to answer another of life's questions:  How do you get over it and move on when you've just been told your food wasn't the best?  Therefore, he's set up an intervention.  He's invited challengers who have bested the Iron Chefs to come back and join Alton and Kevin to have a little chat with the Iron Chefs, no knives, stoves, or ovens allowed.  The Iron Chefs will be there with their very own secret ingredient… vengeance!

 

Game Rules:

1.  I'm the Chairman!  I can kick you out of my kitchen if I want and you'll follow my rules or go.  I can change my rules because I'm 'da man and I can do a gnarly backflip.*  (Otherwise known as the standard "I'm god and rules can change" rule.)

2.  Post!  Every game day!  If you don't PM me and post on the thread about a LOA, I'll assume you're done playing and make it so.  I'll replace people when I can and modkill when I can't.  

3.  Day 1 will last 96 hours and following days will last 72 hours.  Nights will last 48 hours.  Weekends are considered half days.  These times are flexible because a) this is a hammer game and day will end when the hammer vote is cast and b) nights may end early if all night actions are in.  So pay attention!

4.  A majority vote is required for a lynch.  In the event that a deadline is reached with no majority, there will be no lynch.  If the same person or people are repeatedly not voting, you can expect a chat with the Chairman.

5.  Votes must be glowed.  Unvotes must be glowed.  You must unvote before you can place a new vote.

6.  No off-thread conversations about the game unless it's on a QT set up by me.  I'm nosey and like to know what's going on.

7.  No gossiping about me!  Meaning don't quote PMs from me.  

8.  Don't edit your posts.  Double post if you want to fix something or add more to your post.  There's no unsaying words that come out of your mouth (or fingers, whatever).  

9.  Your ghost may utter one final "bah!" post if you die, but don't share information you learned before dead or attempt to coach those remaining in the game.  If you have a QT and die you may continue to participate on the QT because everyone knows the mafia is naughty.

10.  The Chairman identifies the bodies in the game and will share character name, alignment, role, and any other tidbits he finds fun upon each death.

 

* disclaimers:  a) I'm not really a man, b) I couldn't do a backflip if my life depended on it, c) I have a LOA happening Aug 7-14th and will call in a back-up mod if the game runs that long since I will have no internet access while gone.

I much prefer the non-America version myself, but picked the America version for this game because it was more fun to make fun of the America Iron Chefs.  ;)
