DRAGONMOUNT

A WHEEL OF TIME COMMUNITY

HIHI!!! I guess ya're all aware of what this is about.

Here's the plan.

The Yellow Ajah will receive a summons from maybe Mother or someone, a Noble that the First Weaver is acquainted with. And we will have an internal meeting with the Sitters and some of the Aes Sedai in the Tower. It'll be an emergency and as such we will not be able to mobilize enough Yellow Aes Sedai to do this. This battle will be a civil war kinda thing, somewhere. I don’t really know the timeline yet, but I want it to be a possible Forsaken induced battle, so we can include elements of the Dark in our fight.

A Sitter comes up with the idea to do it FROM the White Tower. A ter'angreal is used (I think we need approval for this) basically opens a semi permanent Gateway from one of the antechambers deep below the White Tower. From the White Tower, this is what we'll be doing…

1) Aes Sedai and Accepted are free to go through the Gateway. You are to provide Healing for those who are too badly injured to be carried through the Gateway. You will not be required to fight anything, but I think we should leave this up to you. Feel free to encounter nasty evil things and possibly a Darkfriend or two.

2) What the Accepted may NOT do, however it to ACTIVELY seek out people to kill and stuff. *lol* That’s not your primary mission here, and I will frown upon any Accepted who decides this is a personal vendetta against the dark. Aes Sedai, feel free to do whatever. I’m opening this to all Ajahs, so if the Greens wanna fight along, feel free. If we have Blues and Grays, you can help discover the reason behind this war (A Forsaken) and that would be even more exciting. Whites can sit in a corner debating logic and sigh at the pointlessness of it all. Browns, feel free to study dead bodies I suppose. And the Red can… ummm… hate the men that are brought in. I don’t know. Help yourself.

3) Accepted and Novices that need lessons, Healing and Patient care lessons will be conducted respectively. So feel free to either request for one, or I will teach a group class. This will count towards your requirement. Healing’s only for Accepted only for now.

4) Novices. You are not supposed to cross the Gateway. Your primary duty is to learn herbology and patient care from the Yellow Sisters. A temporary Infirmary will be set up within the ante chamber and patients will be consistently brought in. You are allowed to channel (Yay!) since the Sisters will be around. But ONLY simple weaves. Lighting candles and possibly heating water. Don’t start planning Rps involving you creating Illusions and Bonding half dead men, please.  I will not be responsible if you burn yourself out.

5) We can discuss it further if any of you feel like you NEED to go across the Gateway and get into trouble. You’d have to survive on TOTALLY basic weaves. And no weapon skills. So… yeah… very Macgyver. In the sense you’re going to have to figure out how to fight a nasty Darkfriend, whose weapon skill is about 10 times yours with your only advantage being weak, weeeeaaak Saidar. (Think Morgase.) You will get the advantage of surprise as well. Without the Great Serpent ring around your finger, no one will know you are WT trained.

6) We could either work with NPCs or we could open this up to the rest of DM. If any of you know a battle that’s ALREADY raging, we can jump in and offer our help. We can get SG involved as well. So… yeah, you higher types. Tell me what to do and I’ll try to arrange things.

7) Any other ideas?

I think this will be a fairly large scale RP without being TOO large scale so everyone gets lost. Here’s the rough timeline. Once we get a necessary approvals, I will start by posting as First Weaver, receiving the summons/petition. If Mother wants to RP, she can be the summoner. If not, a petition will be filed with us from the Noble involved. There will be a hushed meeting with the Sitters of the Ajah and we will decide we cannot handle this alone. A petition is opened in the Great Hall, Sitters are invited to RP. We will update on the situation and we will have a vote if we should go for it. We WILL go for it. But the Hall decides it’s dire enough that we need the help of Accepted and Novices, with the OFFICIAL story being we are holding lessons on Healing and patient care, and not that we NEED their help.

During the postings, the IC timeline will be fluid. So we don’t have to wait on each other. Three threads will be ongoing. First involving the Yellow Ajah and the Hall. Second involving the actual Gateway opening and initial rush of patients. Third will be misc adventures or lessons as we go along.

This is not an RP that’s meant to help you fulfil your requirements. Yes, it will help towards that. But I want creativity. I want excitement. And most of all I want you to have fun.  So feel free to be emotionally attached to a patient and go into grave mourning when he dies. Or fall in love with one but find out he’s married. That being said, the rules still apply, so don’t go Bonding people or getting yourself into relationships as Novices or Accepted.  Aes Sedai, feel free. *shrugs* Who am I to say what funky activities you wanna do. Please stay PG13 in front of the Novices and Accepted. Behind closed doors, well… don’t break anything you can’t fix in a hurry. *nods*

Comments? Suggestions? Yes/nos? I don’t really want this to be OVERLY planned so we have to wait for one thing to happen before another. But I want some form of coherence. So let’s not start one billion threads all with different things going on and none of them complete. I want a start and a finish.

You can tell I’m very serious about Rping. I want you to appreciate the storyline and the interactions with other people. What I don’t want you to do is spend half the time counting the number of words you’ve written and the number of posts and immediately run off to go update your Requirements thread. What I REALLY don’t want is you leaving a thread hanging just because you’ve finished the necessary number of posts for that thread. Right?

Ok. Discuss.

Sounds good. I'm gonna be creating my First Weaver bio soon. This will probably take about half a month or more to get necessary plans out, so you have time. After that if ya wanna be mentored under her you can. Of course ya wouldn't know she's First Weaver, but since ya're so eager to be Yellow having a Yellow Mentor to RP with would be good.

I love this!

Just remember a few points:

There is In Current Time (main timeline): that is where things are happening now, for all FULL characters on the PSW. You can see here where we are currently (early 1000 NE): http://whitetower.aliciawilkerson.com/?page_id=67

There is Retro Time (where novices and Accepted live). For those who don't understand this: that means back in some hazy time before In Current Time. It's deliberately hazy, because once your character gets raised to the Shawl, you can make her any age from about 30 to over 200 years old in MAIN TIMELINE.

In Retro Time your character is probably not Ajah Head or Sitter yet. There isn't a Dragon Reborn, or Travelling, or AoL Healing, or Forsaken wandering around (Apart from Ishy, who's always been semi-free), or any of the other things that were discovered in the past 4 or 5 years Main Timeline.

Now, keeping the two timelines separate whilst all still RPing together, is very difficult, and most of us forget at some stage and slip up. A bit of fudging is allowed, therefore, but keep it within limits.

Sounds good. If we're good to go I'm gonna start discussing this with the SG or FL groups.

Wow, two Yellow aspies. I AM going to have my handsful. *ahem* With teaching of course, yes, teaching. *nods*

This is what Liitha wrote to me on PM, upon my initiation of the discussion. *sighs* So apparently I don't have the authority to initiate this. And all that. I'm just... disappointed to be honest. If it's so difficult to get an RP going, I'll just work within the WT and use NPCs.

hey this may be of use to you

this would probably not be of direct use to the rp, but if you want insight ooc

question

when i used to be active, intiates were to stay in the undefined past, not medle with mainplot and the ongoings in mainplot, has this policy changed?

info

an aproval of an interdiv plot, need to happen by submiting it to your own div staff, and they need to seek aproval from the other divisions that are involved, this is the prosedure, and amongst other is to secure that all aprovals are based on the same info

if you need more info on the borderlands mainplot let me know, its to be presumed along the borders to the gate there would be constant squrimish, the last big event was a fight with the BT that came to the rescue without having full understanding of the situation in the area, which ended with some losses on both sides, but the BT was driven on retreat

Well, hon, I did point out to you the problems with Retro and Main Timeline, and suggested you keep it vague if you want to include Novices and Accepted.

I'd forgotten about the Inter-Div procedure - my bad *blushes*.

Now you can go two ways with this plan:

1) If you want to include novices and Accepted characters - have the battle somewhere near Tar Valon, in some hazy time in the past. Keep it to WT members only (as I think we're the only ones who RP in Retro). This way, there's no Travelling involved (the wounded can be brought to the Tower in carts or something). You can NPC Darkfriends, or just make it one of those many civil wars going on.

2) If the novices and Accepted want to take advantage of the "one time RPing your character as full AS" option - include other Divs, like SG, BT, etc. This will then be in Main Timeline, where you can use Travelling, Dreadlords, Asha'man, the Dragon Reborn, etc etc.

If you go with option 1, you should be able to start the RP relatively soon, with little planning.

If you go with option 2, prepare yourself for weeks, if not months, of planning before any RPing starts. You'll need hair on your teeth and a lot of patience. If you go with this option, I'll raise the matter in the PSW Staff Board.

You can't Travel (or any of the other things I mentioned) in option 1, because it's in Retro, and those things haven't been discovered / come to light yet.

Did anyone care to run this by the MoN first for the novice/accepted input yet? Err, no. ;)

I do like the initial idea though. Let me have a look and I will get back to you on what I think is acceptable for the initiates. If anyone wants this to count as a requirement they will need approval FROM ME FIRST. I'm super relaxed and love to foster your imagination and let you run free (within the boundaries of the world and plausibility) but for future reference for ANYONE planning rps for novices/accepted that toe the line, check with me before looking for sign ups. Don't want to disappoint people if it turns out they're not gonna be allowed to play, ya know? :)

Anyway, haven't said no yet, just don't take anything as confirmed until I've had a good think, alrighty?

Love your enthusiasm though Boopsie  :-*
