Kivam's idea is good. Here's why:

 

- In a game where everybody is a power role, individual roles like cop and doc are less important. (Thus I even disagree with Kivam that cop and doc should lie.)

 

- In the normal course of things, sacrificing a cop or a doc in order to find mafia is accepted (eg. Cop claims to have a guilty investigation, or the real cop/doc counterclaims a mafia fakeclaim).

 

- Kivam's plan will eliminate from the field of suspicion a few players, those with uncontested role claims. The players that do have contested claims will either be the real role, or mafia. The rest of us can target those players at night to figure things out. Yay!

I don't understand how the whole "the cop and doc should lie thing" would work.  If the cop lies and says they are the doubler.. and the real doubler says thats odd... I'M the doubler.. then either the doubler or the cop will likely be lynched.  Then, as some people suggested, maybe there are duplicates?  What then?

That would be true, except if you study the nature of the roles in the game, many are very much interconnected.

Yeah, but NOT on DAY 1. There are 21 people currently playing. If there were 10, and it would be easier to check the list of roles that have already been lynched/NK'd, then I might be more amenable to it, but as of right now there are just too many people to play that kind of lottery with.

The rest of us? Are we to assume then that you have some sort of finder role? Are you assuming that there will be more than one person that can gauge alignment with 100% accuracy? DPR has stated that while the roles are 90% accurate, he has in fact tweaked some things. You are basically doing a lot of assuming based on not enough information.

Is there a reason I'm the only one voting for her at the moment?  I understand not wanting to rush to judgment, but she definitely deserves some heat.

Pandy, you may feel the cop and doc are expendable, but I doubt they do. I still think it's a really bad idea, and I'm not mafia. Yeah, yeah, I know. I always say that.  :P

 

Seriously, the liars would be cop, doc, and mafia. The mafia know who they are, and what lies they told. So there are only two left who will lie. Plus the two that actually have the roles the liars picked. That gives the mafia a one in four chance of killing the finder night one. The town, however, has a much harder time finding the scummy liars, or LLLs.

 

This is an incredibly stupid idea.

So here is what I am thinking now.

 

Kivam is innocent because he wants a mass role reveal, but if you think about it, no one ever agrees to that plan, Kiv could have put that forward so he would look innocent for wanting it.

 

I think Nae and Lavinya are playing off each other, Nae wants to lynch Kiv and so does Liv but Nae is putting a little distance between them so if Kiv is innocent then when he flips innocent she will be just far enough away from Lavinya that she won't get suspected.

I don't think Kivam is innocent. I think this mass reveal idea was intended to make him look innocent. Especially offering to go first. Anyone could easily claim his role afterwards, and declare him a liar. It's bold and risky, if he is mafia...but perhaps we will look at it and say, surely if he was mafia he wouldn't have gone first! So, believing him to be very very clever, I think he is guilty and using such a move to instead shift suspicion to anyone who really doesn't want to reveal. Worst case, he can help pinpoint a night target for the mafia. It's just a feeling I have, sorry to all those who hate gut instincts. This long, thought out process is something I am just getting used to - the majority of mafia games I have played have been in chat rooms, with day lasting 5 minutes. Makes for a very different game, I have discovered. :)

 

And I am playing nothing of Nae. I still don't trust her after being so very good as Cole :P

I said the same thing about Kiv but in shorter words. In fact he is more of a benefit if he is lynched, so we can test the WIFOM he has created, by suggesting the role reveals

 

And as far as you and Nae playing off each other, I believe you are, you could not be but I have no reason to believe differently at this time.

I am not sure on Kiv. A mass reveal is stupid imo, because I agree with Lily up there that it would only really benefit the mafia.

A lot of roles are interconnected. One player could stop another. If we get the one that could stop another player to reveal first, the player who would be effected would lie.

 

Pandy is crazy. I think he was hinting at a role. When people asked why he would hint, he starts ranting at them. Pandy has been acting scummy. If, like he keeps saying, he survives the night, he had better have some goddamm good info and reasons tomorrow.

 

Also...Lily is mafia. :P

How long do we have to vote for Day 1? I am still weighing and measuring everyone, because I'm new to most of your styles of play. For now I will withhold a vote until I can further consider everyone. There is just so much content to go over. I've read everything so far and there are so many things arousing my suspicions, that I'm just not quite sure.

1. I don't see where I said I wanted to lynch Kiv?  I'm still more wary of FDM

 

2. If Lavi and I are playing off each other then why did you vote for Kiv?  I agreed with Kiv that Lavi's post contradicted itself.  If I were to vote either of them it would be her.

 

3. Lily said earlier that she thought Kiv's idea was stupid and suspicious but she waits til you comment on it and then agrees with you.  Lily.. you are good enough at this game to come to your own conclusions without waiting for Pete to say what's on your mind.  *smiles back*
