Yep.  It's not about old or new, and everyone makes mistakes.  But if I see a newer player using a vig role too often, I'm going to let them know that they are making a mistake by doing that.  That's how you learn in these games.  I only got annoyed when it looked like Pale had used it a third time.

I'm purely guessing here, but I think Pale picked Barm and Far before realising what roles they do or don't have. By claiming he chose me for the second night, he was hoping I'd come out and claim healer or doc, only to have Far or whoever else come out of the woodwork and prove me as scum. Great tactic, if I were scum.

 

Now, we're back to the previous situation and we really need to hear from Far about her role.

Still working on that reread.  This is a long thread, and I've got to get school work done early because I'm going skiing with my family this weekend.

 

I'm not really feeling the Dae lynch.  For example, I didn't find his initial FDM vote to be all that scummy -- I (and a handful of other players at the time) actually agreed with those initial suspicions.

 

DS was the most scummy to me, but he turned out to be the governor after all.  We could spend another lynch checking him, but I don't know that it'll be worthwhile.

 

I'll be back when I can with a short summary on each player's actions and my thoughts, but in the meantime, the only player really bugging me is Nae.  For all her posts, I feel like she's lurking in plain sight, so to speak -- usually with her activity, I'd expect her to be taking a much more active role in guiding the town.  It's a gut feeling, but it's better than nothing for now.

Finished re-read. Still thinking that Far, Lily and Hybrid are mafia. Updated notes follow. Mainly I focussed on interactions with Rey; however, the big limitation is obviously that all that tells us is whether these people are on his team or not. I don't think Pete was scum with Rey, due to their interactions, and those of certain others with both Rey and Pete; however, that doesn't exclude Pete from being scum but in a different group.

 

Lily notes, scummy things in bold:

 

Lily: First opinion of the game, pg. 19. Proposes a Pete-Kivam scumteam due to Pete's not voting Kivam but also expressing suspicion.  (actually, later, it seems she was merely agreeing with his logic… odd.)

 

Defended by scum-Rey, pg. 21

 

Jumps on the Nae-is-suspicious wagon, pg. 25

 

Pg. 36 - accuses me of causing a distraction. Vague accusation, certainly.

 

Pg. 37 - holy Kivam bandwagon, Batman!

Pg. 62 - now she wants Rey dead? Sudden switch to 'gut' feeling that he's scum? I don't buy it

FDM: Has managed to avoid giving any substantial opinions thus far through her not voting day one and her not giving any opinions with her case, which is plain scummy. (love you really, Far :D )

 

Also wanted the finder to check her first, which was apparently a joke. This is godfather play.

 

No more of note until 24? Seriously? Is suspicious of Nae.

 

Pg. 44: Seems to me like she's frustrated with Rey's reveal.

 

Pg. 49: Finally a good post from Far. Based on hunches and assumptions, though, and basically amounts to "scum are split between those on Kivam's wagon and those off it." This sounds good until you realise it's just saying "scum are amongst everyone in the game, ya know?"

 

Pg. 50: The basic logic she has that scum were on the Kivam wagon is pretty safe. Doesn't maker her town for pushing it.

 

Pg. 59: Far doesn't want to lynch Rey either. Pokes at him to make his role reveal better. Wants more info from Alys before committing to the lynch (despite Alys presenting ridiculous odds anyway.) Scummy!

 

Pg. 60. Rey thinks Far's innocent. Oh heyyyyyyyy

At the moment, FDM won't be nightkilled (she's dead anyway, thanks to Pale).  They may target Lily - its something the Doc should consider - but they have more useful targets in front of them (Barm, for one, though with the doc likely to choose Barm, they're in a WIFOM).  Of course, they may also be counting on people being suspicious of me (which would make Lily suspect as well  ;D)  And with Lavinya as a true confirmed innocent, there's a third target.

 

Then there's me.  I wonder if they're close to pushing the panic button, seeing as we currently have 4 confirmed innocents, if people really do trust me (me, FDM, Lavinya, Lily) and the cop hasn't even revealed yet.

 

Right now, as long as the doc and cop stay alive, we're in very good shape.

I can see maybe lily being innocent (just a big hunch here). Lavinya hasn't been proved anything, just because she didn't claim finder/healer, to be honest I don't think that she would have tried that. now she won't be dying, we can't assume she is innocent. Far, I've seen nothing that she has done that makes her innocent. But we will find out not tonight but tomorrow night.

 

As for you, well i kinda trust you are innocent, not 100%, but gut again tells me you are. That doesn't mean I have to believe everything you say about the others!

This is crazy talk.  She just agreed to die rather than false-claim.  No scum would have done that; if they're going to die at all, they want to at least take down the real finder/doc with them. 

 

Look at it this way - if you are scum and false claim, what are the possible outcomes:

 

1) There's no counterclaim, Pale saves you instead of Barm, you stay alive.

 

2) There is a counterclaim, Pale saves you instead of Barm (can't risk the cop/doc), you stay alive and the real cop/doc is outed.

 

3) There is a counterclaim, Pale saves Barm instead of you (can't be sure who to save), the real cop/doc is outed, and you target them that night (if you claimed cop, you hope the doc doesn't protect real cop)

 

All of those outcomes are better than the only possible outcome if you don't false-claim: you die.

 

Now, that changes if Pale is a liar - if he doesn't save Barm, we lynch him, and he turns out to be scum . . . then maybe Lavinya knew he was lying.  If that's the case, then her not claiming is meaningless, obviously.  But unless she and Pale are on a team together (which they can't be if Pale is innocent), she had to believe Pale was telling the truth and therefore her refusal to false claim makes her a 100% guaranteed innocent.

Its possible.  Like I said, the scum have a lot of targets to consider.

 

In fact, assuming the cop has 3 different names tomorrow (i.e. not any of the people we've already marked down as innocent, and all alive) they should seriously consider revealing.  At worst (with 3 deaths tonight - one being Pale) we'd have 6 confirmed innocents (2 deaths from our confirmed innocent pool, plus 3 new ones from the cop, plus the cop) out of 11 players.  That's some serious ammunition, especially if we're whittling down the pool of SK suspects (right now there are 6, plus (as outside shots) Pandy and Barm).  Kill one today, and have 3 new names revealed . . . and we'd be down to only 4.

That woulod only work if

 

1. The finder had names that weren't yours,

2. And havent viewed those who have subsequently have died, that wouldn't help much neither.

 

I guess they could have a mafia, which would be even better! The Healer is still out there.

 

Of course it will be interesting to see if anyone does claim finder ;)
