So Chrono came up innocent.  That's not good but at least he was vanilla.  I'm most suspicious of Pale, Locke, and Meesh right now but I'm at least a little bit suspicious of everyone in this game.

Define what you believe "too clever" means, and explain why you contribute nothing to the discussion except a vote based on someone else's reasoning.

Well you seem like a cars salesman, slick.

(...)

Al Jenn, I hope you know I wasn't even talking to you when I said that. ::)

Still, and I forgot to mention this before I hit "post," I don't know what you mean by "slick," or by "cars salesman," either.  Perhaps if you brought up quotes and examples I'd know what you mean?  I would never define myself as being a naturally slick person, so I find it hard to believe that you honestly think I'm being "too clever" or slick.

------

Okay, moving on.

Well I'm not terribly surprised Chrono turned up innocent; in my experience the likelihood of lynching an innocent is a lot higher this early on, especially with so little to go on.  Unless someone slips up majorly, we just have to take it as it comes and do the best we can.  Meercat started pinging my scumdar so much harder and I would rather have lynched him, but with the deadline looming and Chrono the only one we had something to go on, it was the best we could do.

And nice death scene, Talya. :D

**EDIT FOR WOMBAT**

It was kind of obvious, though.  After meercat voted for me, I voted him and then said the quoted thing.  Al Jenn has contributed a lot more than Meercat, so I don't even know how he felt that what I said could even apply to him.  The fact that he did that, and answered so thoroughly, almost chameleon-like, makes me suspicious of him.  Answering suspicions that weren't even directed at you, and don't even apply to you...so quick to jump on the defensive!

Though, on the other hand, he was the original person to say I seemed "too clever," so I can understand part of the misunderstanding.

He's still fairly high on my suspect list, though.

Al Jenn wasn't really pinging my scumdar but at this point, anyone could be mafia.  Also, I'm still not happy with the level of participation we have.  I want to see more posts from some of the people who haven't posted much.  I know Wolfie has been sick and you can't help that but it's still frustrating.

Ok, not a huge surprise he wasn't mafia but it would have been nice.

You have claimed finder, then claimed being roledblocked, your role is undecided, if there is a finder out there and you find a mafia then reveal because that means that lily is one too.

Pale, darlin', you're digging that hole even deeper....

If there was another finder out there, surely they would have either viewed me last night and revealed. Get over it, already, or lynch me and find out the hard way. Sheesh!

Meesh is very very scummy IMO. She lead or was one of the firsts to kill off the Chrono and the first innocent who died (that i remember off the top of my head).

Once is acceptable, but twice along with the earlier style of your posts makes me suspect you big time.

If there is a finder, why would they view you on night one? Better to view someone else because then your claim would prove you scum anyway and waste a view. You know that.

I don't want to lynch you because i don't want to take the risk on being wrong.

Rey, she's still near the top of my suspect list, but Pale's been climbing over her to reach the top.

I'm looking at the lurkers, too. Now that finals are over, there should be no more school-related excuses. Does anybody have a list of their own on who is lurking that I can borrow? Too sick to want to bother right now....

That is both a weak and scummy statement Pale. It's a cheap cop-out that a mafioso would use to cover his back.

@Pale:  You make a good point but I still believe Lily about her being the finder.  Telling people when a finder should reveal seems scummy, but I'm sure you know that and your argument isn't bad.  I still think Lily is telling the truth though.

@ Rey:  Your thoughts about Meesh's earlier posts mirror mine but I don't think she's pinging my scumdar as hard as she is yours.

Pete was the first person who died. I only voted him because of Random.org.  I didn't lead his lynch nor did I encourage it (except when the deadline was coming and he had the most votes on him).

With Chrono, I unvoted him because I found Meercat to be much more suspicious.  I put my vote back on Chrono because of the deadline.  If we would've had more time, I would've pursued my suspicion of Meercat, and would've left Chrono alone.

At least get your facts right.

Also, even if I did lead a lynch on someone who was innocent, that wouldn't necessarily make me scum.  People are wrong all the time in mafia games.  Being wrong doesn't make one a mafioso.

I find it incredibly ridiculous that up till now, no one has given a reason why they find me scummy.  It's just "Oh, I'm keeping an eye on Meesh" or "Yeah, she's at the top of my list" but no "here's why."  Rey is the first one to say something about why he thinks I'm scummy, and bravo to him for that.

I'm beginning to suspect that the main reason for me being so high on people's lists is that I've been mafia before in so many games and because of Lily's failed argumentative tactics.

Thank you Meesh for your reply.

It was off the top of my head, and I apologise if I was partially wrong.

I think the reason most people are after you is because you lurk the least. You post regularly, and not superficially either.

Its people who come and go and lurk who we should really try for. Although that didn't work with Chrono.

Pale's accusation of Lily seems like a risky play for scum but then again it is probably the best way to foment discord right now.  I'm not sure whether he's more or less scummy in my eyes now.

@Meesh: You did seem to change your behavior after people were saying you were scummy and your vote on Meercat looked like an OMGUS, so there is reason to believe you are being overly defensive and could be mafia.  I'm not sure about you, but I'm having a hard time deciding what I think about a lot of people right now.

I will metagame for a moment.

Twice i have seen mafia claim finder day one, then claim the person they viewed was innocent so couldn't say who they were, the real finders revealed on day 2 and day 3.

Once the finder was recruited Day 1 by the mafia and came up with a lot of excuses why they hadn't viewed or their lack accuracy. Mafia won

If you're saying im suspicious for doubting you Lily, then that in itself is suspicious for the amount of games you have played sweetie ;D

@Rey:  I agree with your logic, to some degree.  Everyone's different, and plenty of people are perfectly capable of hiding in plain sight.  So, while lurkers and people who don't post with any regularity are people we should keep our eyes on, we also need to look for discrepancies or slip-ups and weak/failed logic in the posts of people who ARE active in the thread.  Not that it is a guaranteed way of finding scum; though there really is no guaranteed way, other than Findings (and even those aren't always 100% reliable).

To your very last point, it's true--we definitely need more to go on than what we had with Chrono.  Hopefully people won't dilly-dally up until the deadline, so we'll be able to get some sort of substantial-feeling lynch.  A lynch with reasons behind it beyond "I don't want a random modkill."

I can see your point about me; it's easier to find suspicious things about people that are more present and active.  I still wish people would start giving me reasons; quote a post or call me out on something I did, but if I keep hearing "Meesh seems scummy" without any sort of reason whatsoever, I'm going to start casing you guys.

Do you know what casing is?  Gathering evidence to support your case that so-and-so isn't town.  So I'll start going through your posts one by one, putting them all in one post of mine, analyzing your play so far and listing scum tactics and town tactics you've used so far.

Sound like fun, people?

Oh, and while I'd still like to hear substantial reasons from Lily, I can at least understand her suspicion for me--I HAVE been scum in a lot of games before, a lot of which Lily was in too.  She's not above me casing her, though.

I do want to point out (yet again) that experienced players in that game, players who have more experience than the mod of the game did, specifically said that the setup of that game was weighted in favor of the mafia.  I don't think Talya is inexperienced enough to create an unbalanced game.  She's modded enough before, and played twice as much.

**EDIT FOR WOMBAT**

Wombat.  People have been saying I'm scummy since the very first day.  What behavior has there been for me to change?  I've been under suspicion since I started playing this game.

So do you think she would have put a roleblocker in for the mafia then? That seems a mafia favored setup too.

Posted

Yes, but like I've said before, if she does put something like that in the game, she must've put powers in the Town to help balance it.  We had a double-voter and we had at least 2 masons, and possibly the remaining mason (I tend to think there are only 2) also has a town power role.  I'd like to think that if there is something like a double-voter, there will also be at least one extra role that can actively do good to the town.

I know it's a complete possibility that Lily is lying; I hope she's not and I know that even if "evidence" is stacked against her she could still be telling the truth.  It's happened to me where things just went utterly wrong for me and made me look scummy when I wasn't.  People thought I was lying and I wasn't.

Also, I believe a roleblocker is an easier thing to balance out than the mafia having a recruit.
