Yeah, that game was nuts! I actually posted a lot more in that game than I usually do, at the beginning, anyway. I almost quit playing mafia after that game because I had some RL stress going on and ended up taking it out on people in the game (including Pete). And I felt really bad about it later ;) But yeah, we were all convinced Pete was scum because of the way he acted, but he really wasn't. Nor was I, I might add :D

No, that would have been Meesh! lol And we never suspected her, as I recall.

Just look on the bright side, everyone. Meesha and I play just as well on the town side. That is, assuming Meesh IS actually town... *watches Meesh carefully*  ;D

The only people whose alignment I'm sure of are mine and the dead people's.

Yeah, and assuming YOU'RE actually town, too. :P

Yeah, cursed mafia with the roleblock....  I was hoping you'd be able to clear my name and everything, and then you get on to say you were blocked...  Hopefully we'll find said roleblocker and lynch the pants off of (and the life out of) them, so you can start getting readings and so the Healer isn't protecting you for nothing.

I know, I was rather surprised that I made it till nearly the end of the game without being actively suspected at all; then DSage findered me and got my "innocent" result, as I was the godfather...

I was so surprised because I normally post a LOT more than I was in that game, and I was sure people would suspect me, although in truth it was mostly because I was burnt out from playing 6 games at once. >.<

Wombat, my advice is to run while you can. You can now see what happens once addiction sets in! SIX at once, Meesh? Four is my record, but I am modding one of them, and that takes more of my time than playing, but still......SIX?

Posted

Wow, I don't think I could do six LOL. I was actually thinking about this the other day, and I think five would be my limit. I'm playing four right now.

Posted

Yup, six.  And after that I took a very very long break from mafia. :D  I would say that the highest number of games anyone should play at one time is 4.  5 stretched me way too thin, and luckily I was only in 6 for a couple of days, then one of them ended so I was back at 5, but 5 is STILL way way too stressful.

So even if those games are just begging to be played....you can always follow along as a spectator. ;)

Wombat, in my experience, a lot of mafia is playing blind and feeling your way forward as best as you can.  It sucks, but that's the game for you.

Posted

Just now, I am going to heavily reemphasize that you should never play too many games at once.  Why?  You get burnt out.  Can't handle it.  Can't get into all the games as much, which makes it less fun.

And then it might have lasting effects, who knows.

You also might find yourself acting stupid in a game and causing drama--happened to me a few times.

Why am I reiterating this?

Because I finally felt like I was ready to be back playing mafia, felt good about it, but I just found out I can't handle it.  This game is okay, but even being in 2 kills me.  I just voluntarily edited a post in the other game I was alive in so that I would get modkilled because I was getting too stressed out.

Moral of the story: Don't stretch yourself too thin.  Mafia won't be as fun anymore and it SHOULD be fun.  Don't ruin it for yourself.

Okay, tangent over.

Wombat, the fact that you keep emphasizing that you have no/limited information to work with is making me suspicious of you.

Posted

Meesh, I totally get how you feel. I'm actually starting to feel that way myself right now. There's a certain game I'm in that I'm kind of hoping to be killed in soon (and no, it's not Charmed Mafia ;)), just so I can get out of one.

I actually was thinking Wombat is maybe hinting at having a role? Either because he can't reveal... or maybe he's actually finder, and Lily's not? I will admit, her revealing and then suddenly having an excuse not to be able to give any information made me a little suspicious. Then again, the mafia blocking her is plausible, too. I've just never heard of the mafia being able to do that before.

I just say what I'm thinking and I've been frustrated for a while now.  Also, the lack of activity so far this day frustrates me further.  Then again considering the way things have been going of late maybe I should be glad for the pause in the action.  Also, I don't think I would be happy with the amount of information I had unless I were the mod lol.

@ Alanna:  I think you're reading too much into my posts.  Like I said I just say what I think.  A lot of times I say things to people IRL that I should have kept in my inner monologue ^^  This game is still young so I'm not really playing a very deep game right now.  Tbh I trust Lily further than anyone else atm (still not saying much) as no one has counterclaimed.

Posted

Eh, well there goes that idea. I just thought it was strange that you kept saying the same thing over and over, and that it was kind of coming out of left field. Then when you said you had nothing 'to act on,' I thought you were hinting at a role.

Well, I'm not horribly suspicious of Lily, but as I said earlier ;D I try to keep an open mind about her. And everyone, really. This whole finder claim could be a crazy mafia scheme. Or it could just be what it is.

You think I'm best for first nk? Cause with all the crap I'm stirring up I'm a good choice for a tracker to follow. I think u should go first. Btw I'm the roleblocker. Who do you suggest I work on?

This is the second or third time I've said I played a game where the mafia had a roleblocker.  It.  Is.  Possible.

Saying "I've just never heard of it before" doesn't mean anything, if you truly believe it's plausible.  So, people, stop saying that.  You HAVE heard of it.  I'm telling you.  I was Ishamael, and my fellow Forsaken, Lanfear, who was MAFIA, COULD ROLEBLOCK.  So now you have heard of it.  It's happened.  Let's move on.

Wombat, I get what you're saying, but the best thing to do would be to try and contribute something other than complaining about the lack of info.  Throw out ideas, any thoughts you have pertaining to the game, whatever.  Or just observe and form opinions.  Complaining helps you absolutely not, though.

@Alanna the second time (because my freaking internet is spazzing out on me): It is definitely a possibility that Lily could be pulling off an elaborate mafia scheme to make herself seem innocent and indispensable.  I think she'd be capable of pulling it off successfully, too.  It's a good idea to take nothing for granted.  However, there comes a time when you're going to have to just trust that someone isn't lying, at least once, and then see if they're proven trustworthy.

If Lily's scum, time should tell.  I can't believe that the real Finder would sit through the whole game saying nothing if Lily is lying, so we should eventually be able to determine that she's telling the truth.  Lynching a roleblocker is also a good way to determine Lily's honesty.  Till then, I think it's best to assume she's telling the truth anyway.

I have been observing and trying to form opinions Meesh.  I don't have anything conclusive yet.  I will post when I do.  right now there's just

...WAIT FOR IT...

I won't say it this time  ;D

But yeah if I come up with anything conclusive I'll probably be sharing it right away.  For now I'll just observe and try not to complain too much.  I should be able to do that.  I do after all pride myself on being an accomplished lurker.

Also fyi I'm staying up really late tonight cuz I have a final tomorrow evening so I'll probably be lurking here like a madman and maybe occasionally venting (hopefully not too much).

Thanks for the compliment, Meesh. I think I might be capable of it, too. Maybe. But I wouldn't pick finder....lol.

Alanna, I like to see you growing as a player. Don't ever trust me too much. I'm glad you've learned that. Okay, IF we were both mafia, you could trust me, as long as you don't turn your back on me. Remember the three knives in that game? Yeah, well, I didn't share that info with my mafia team right off. Of course, that was because I had to check with the modgod to see if my win conditions had changed or not first. I can see Pete setting me up to double deal the mafia. But, yeah, never trust me too much. Or Meesh, for that matter. Little Miss Mafia/Cult there  :P

Seriously guys, I doubt I would be saying all this if I was mafia, but then I never thought I'd pull a Kivam gambit, either, and I just did that in a game, so who knows? All I can say is that I've revealed. Nobody has counter claimed. And that's all you can know for sure. Unless you lynch me. But then, if you lynch the roleblocker later, you'd probably regret having done so. My advice would be to save me for a later lynch and see if I give you more to go on. And this just feels really weird.....lol.

*looks at Meesh again* Yeah, let's look at her for a while..... :P

*begins furious lurking to find out what a Kivam gambit is*

Ask Talya. ;D

Okay, seriously, the fact that my internet randomly decided to spaz out on me is irritating me.  It's taking like 20 times longer to load than it normally should.  People are posting past me so easily; I might type as fast as I can but it'll still take a good minute for the dang post to load.  *fumes for a minute*

Anyway.  I'm a little POed about it.

I was going to say something about role fishing, but decided I was too frustrated with my internet to at the moment.  Anyway, I was going to say that false-claiming Healer usually works out better for the scum than false-claiming Finder.  Because once the real Healer is known to the mafia, they become virtually useless--you can bet they're going to protect themself every night.  And if/when the Finder eventually reveals or is discovered, then there's a gamble: who's the healer going to protect?  Themself, or the finder?  Who's the mafia going to target?

Blah, anyway.  If a false Healer roleclaims, a smart Healer will keep quiet and not counterclaim.

Ah it was in the same game I found "role fishing" in.  Gotta keep up to date with all these games I'm not playing in ._.

*hates her internet connection fiercely*

I give up.  I'm going to bed.
