I didn't miss the deadline, she extended it. And I'm sorry I got caught up in RL issues. I have a lot of stressful stuff going on right now, and my head just isn't in the game. I don't even if I care if I get lynched or whatever at this point. I'm doing everything I can to even keep up with everyone's posts right now, but I barely have time to check in to DM day to day. SO do whatever you want with me, I don't care.

Sorry I haven't been around either this weekend. It's been a rough weekend between me and hubby being ill and having to care for a sick bunny.

By day 3 we should be placing votes based on actual suspicions, not just feelings and in the interest of getting a majority lynch so I'm voting [glow=red,2,300]Seryanne[/glow].

Well, that's me done for, I guess.

Ellianora, I hope you, hubby and bunny are feeling better today.

Everyone else: thank you all for a very enjoyable first game. I've definitely learned a lot, and had a great time doing it. Good luck :D

The more I think about it, the more I think that it was just too out there.  No mafia team would have allowed her to say that.

I haven't really gotten that sort of a "vibe" from her at all, personally, in case you wanted to know.

On my re-read, this really jumped out at me.  This is meesh talking about Alanna when dragonsworn began the day by voting her.  Now personally, I did, which is why I viewed her.  I never really looked at this because it aided me in coming out to Alanna's defense.

Now Alanna has been acting suspicious almost throughout the entire game.  If I hadn't viewed her, I would have gone with dragonsworn on to lynch her.

But meesh doesn't "got a vibe".  This is before I revealed, keep in mind.  So, I wonder, why didn't meesh get any sort of vibe from Alanna?

In fact, Ellianora said this:

Alanna just isn't coming off to me as mafia, maybe she will I don't know.

Sounds like someone's trying to cover all bases.

Seryanne did suspect Alanna somewhat:

I'm still thinking that there is some kind of mafia link between Pete/Alanna/Lily/DSage, but I can't figure out which button to push first.

Now, I'm not saying that stating suspicion of Alanna equals innocence.  Not at all.

However, a true innocent would NOT know who's innocent and who's mafia, and would see everyone as suspicious, whereas a mafia know who's innocent, and would be able to state that they don't find someone suspicious to "buddy" up to said person.

Does anyone get what I'm saying?  I'm serious, because I don't know if I'm at all lucid at the moment.

Well, in any case, those are what stood out to me on my re-read.

God was angry. Had he not saved the books during the night? And this is how they repaid him? By missing a DEADLINE? Suddenly he glanced at Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov and all copies burst into flames. Nodding and taking a deep breath, he went out to make a speech.

Mystica the innocent Lolita has been randomly lynched.

When it was published in 1955, Lolita immediately became a cause célèbre because of the freedom and sophistication with which it handled the unusual erotic predilections of its protagonist. But Vladimir Nabokov's wise, ironic, elegant masterpiece owes its stature as one of the twentieth century's novels of record not to the controversy its material aroused but to its author's use of that material to tell a love story almost shocking in its beauty and tenderness.

Awe and exhilaration–along with heartbreak and mordant wit–abound in this account of the aging Humbert Humbert's obsessive, devouring, and doomed passion for the nymphet Dolores Haze. Lolita is also the story of a hypercivilized European colliding with the cheerful barbarism of postwar America, but most of all, it is a meditation on love–love as outrage and hallucination, madness and transformation.

First published in France by a pornographic press, this 1955 novel explores the mind of a self-loathing and highly intelligent pedophile named Humbert Humbert, who narrates his life and the obsession that consumes it: his lust for "nymphets" like 12-year-old Dolores Haze. French officials banned it for being "obscene," as did England, Argentina, New Zealand and South Africa. Today, the term Lolita has come to imply an oversexed teenage siren, although Vladimir Nabokov, for his part, never intended to create the association. In fact, he nearly burned the manuscript in disgust, and fought with his publishers over whether an image of a girl should be included on the book's cover.

Day 3 has ended, Night will last for 48 hours (Oct 19 7 pm CST) or as soon as all night actions are submitted.

Well, I hope the random modkill doesn't cost us too much. Everybody, and I mean everybody, including me, has been playing this game very strangely.

Yep. Fingers crossed it's mafia and not Dsage.

We really need a break in this game!

(Now, i really should be asleep. i'm checking in from my phone, naughty me! )

Now there's a book I never managed to finish. I will get back to it someday, I hope.

Well, the modkill didn't take out any scum, but it could have been worse, I guess. Mystica, sorry you had to get modkilled, but at least you are free of mafia games now!

I kind of just want to apologize, because I know I, too, have been playing very strangely, and all I can is that I have a lot of RL stuff going on *shrug* I guess mafia really isn't a game to play when you have lot of other stuff to deal with. And I wanted to apologize to you to, Lily, because I don't think you came across as harsh; if anything, I was harsh. I was just really stressed out, and a thing like a mafia game can seem really stupid when you're dealing with other stuff. And I understand what you mean about how I have seemed suspicious. I guess I just thought that checking in, to let people know I was at least trying to follow along, was better than disappearing entirely. But maybe that would have been better, I don't know.

No problem, Alanna. I'm pretty upset today, myself. I injured my kitty last night, and it will be a few days before I can take her to the vet. Luckily, I'm not feeling guilt over injuring her. I accept that it was an accident, but I'm sick to my stomach that I can't take her in immediately. Naturally, I'm more upset than she is.

The day broke and all the books were in one piece. They wondered if it had been God's work again but the Mod left a note explaining she didn't have time to write something that could be misconstrued as witty.

Day 4 has begun! You all survived the night!

The deadline is Oct 24, 7 pm. The votes needed for a majority are 5. Good luck!

Whew! Protecting myself actually worked. That ploy bought us another day. Let's use it well, folks.

DSage, any luck last night?

I found Meesh innocent.

I told you, I've been wrong 100% of the time.  So, instead of going with my obviously flawed instinct, I went rather random.  Not Random.org random, but rather close.  No dice. :(

So, keeping in mind that I've been wrong 100% of the time this game, the scum are most likely Seryanne, Ludmian, and mnwhiterose.

I'll get things rolling again, then. Maybe we can finish what we started yesterday.

Well, DSage, it's an interesting approach, but through process of elimination, you do have us down to four possibilities.  The mafia must be three of these four:

Seryanne

Ludmian

Ellianora

mnwhiterose

That's all that's left. You've confirmed the rest of us innocent. If we lynch wrong today, then whoever survives will know who to lynch. So, all is not totally lost. And maybe I'll keep outguessing the mafia on nk's. It could happen.  ;)
