The Cannibal Wars Mafia Game

 

It all begins on a hot, 4th of July afternoon. An open topped jeep is spotted on a highway in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina. There are three men in the jeep, one of which pops open what appears to be a smoke grenade, setting off thick, red smoke to erupt from the canister as the jeep speeds along. The plume of gas spreads in the direction of the wind and drifts into neighborhoods along the highway.

 

A car close to the jeep films this using a cell phone and sends it to a news network. The network is swamped with identical stories and videos from every city along the Eastern Seaboard. The Department of Homeland Security is immediately notified, but before an investigation can even begin, phase two of the attack is launched.

 

In every city that the smoke attack has been carried out, hundreds of electromagnetic pulse (emp) devices have been timed to detonate simultaneously. The technology used to build these devices allows them to be small enough to fit into a truck and placed around the cities. The devices are not nuclear, but they are strong enough to wipe out all electronic devices, power plants, autos, telephones, and electronic devices in all of the cities.

 

The East Coast is rendered completely helpless just as darkness falls. There is no news, no way to communicate or travel, and no power at all.

 

The rest of the world watches in horror as a terrorist group claims responsibility for the attacks and reveals that the smoke is a carefully crafted airborne virus that will most certainly kill massive numbers of helpless people within the crippled cities.

 

The East Coast is quarantined.

One year later…

 

You live in Miami.  In the days after the attack you witnessed panic, chaos and destruction on a level that you could have never imagined. But as the days and weeks wore on and no rescue ever arrived, survivors began to adapt to their new environment. People formed into groups and began to work together. Groups became communities, and within months, the communities had begun to organize themselves into different locations around the city. Shelter was easy to find, food was scavenged from stores and homes and water was boiled for drinking.

 

But a new problem arose - a terrible problem.

 

Unknown to the terrorists, a power struggle had existed in Miami’s underground for decades. It was a war waged between evil Voodoo priests, and in their efforts to remain undetected by society, they remained a secret to all but their followers.

 

But, after the attack, there was no longer any law or reason to stay hidden, and there was a massive supply of the Voodoo priests most coveted weapon; dead bodies. The priests flew into a frenzy to build armies of zombies to fight each other. The evil that they used before to create one zombie at a time spun wildly out of control and even the priests looked in horror at what they had created. But their desire for power drove them and they knew nothing except to fight to win the war. Soon, zombies stalked the entire city, and they were starving for human flesh.

 

The communities of the living barricaded themselves into strongholds to keep themselves safe from the zombie hordes. They managed to keep them out, but their numbers dwindled as the need to venture outside for supplies is inevitable.

 

You are among them. Every day is a struggle to survive as you balance between keeping your fortress impenetrable and having to leave the fortress to collect what the community needs to survive. All the while, you keep hoping for a rescue or even some word form the outside world as to what has happened. You hope and you wait…

A warning to those newbies signing up... you might wanna rethink that.  DPR's games are epic and majorly challenging for experieneced players.

I've added game details to the first post of this thread - new [;ayers are welcome. but Nae is correct, we'll be driving fast and the road is bumpy. ;D As a general rule, anyone who is planning to play - involved on a daily basis (RL days, not game days) will be fine. Players that like to check in every once in a while are likely to have a lot of pages to catch up on.
