Not sure you would want a 'pat' from me and as clumsily as I normally am it probably wouldn't hit you on the head, ;D So I'll just offer you a brew of our very best.

*Pats*

Now head straight into your re-read - you have some catching up to do still  ;D

How many times have you guys all re read, cos I've just realised that it takes me bout a week to read each one and I think I've re read about 6 times. I'm pretty embarrassed about that. So yeah any one read loads more so that i don't feel as bad.

About the same as Luckers. Probably more, since I'm a lot older than him and likely started reading the series more years ago than he did.

Thanks guys that's made me feel much better about myself but actually no it hasn't, is there like a divide between people who have read them loads and people who have only just finished?

Hahaha... I'm a baby... :D

Is it wierd that I enjoy this?

Surely not? You look so young. Remember kids, flattery will get you everywhere.

Almost certainly.

*Sticks tongue out at Mr Ares*  :D

Luckers, you're not THAT young - I'm THAT old ... not as old as Mr Ares, though  ;)

Thanks guys that's made me feel much better about myself but actually no it hasn't, is there like a divide between people who have read them loads and people who have only just finished?

Want to try that again, Mat, but this time with a few more bits of punctuation so we can get a better idea of what you mean?  ;)

What exactly do you mean by divide?

What i mean is, are there a group of people who have read it 1 time each or not even finished and then a group of true veterans (brilliant veterans at that) like yourself (thanks for the flattery tip) who have read it over ten trillion times? Oh and give me two months time me, and if i haven't read them 5 more times i'll... be really really upset (don't want to get over the top now do we)

I've given it one final shot but if that doesn't work i will gladly beat my head against a wall so that i will have a place to put some grammar tips in that you can give me :) Or your choice i could just get out the chainsaw and wire it to go off at a certain time then lie under it your call.

Well, of course there are people who have only read it once, or have not completed the series (yet), or who have read it in varying degrees of multiple times. We did not all come upon the series at the same time, so it stands to reason.

I suppose there is a divide / distinction between those who have only read it once, as opposed to those of us weirdos who read it over and over  :D

That is not to say that someone who has only read it once, could not be just as knowledgeable as someone who has read it 20 times. It all depends on your level of retention. I'm old. I forget things.  ;)

Punctuation is quite helpful if you wish to communicate in a clear and precise manner, and actually get across to others what you are thinking. A comma left out, or in the wrong place, can completely change the meaning of a sentence. If English is not your first language, it is sometimes even MORE difficult to figure out what someone actually means when they use unclear language. If I use "actually" one more time, I hope someone smacks me upside the ear.

Chainsaws are cool, Mat, but I am morally opposed to their use - they waste perfectly good blood  ;D

have a pat on the head, I finally finished book 11.

And i love Mat more than I did before, he is truly awsome.

Wait, aren't you like one of the oldest members here? What re-read are you on? The eight or maybe even eleventh?

I'm on my first re-read, but I have a workable knowledge of the series because I grasped and retained most of what I read, and because immediately after finishing KoD, I read the WOTFAQ and joined DM. I would not have considered many of the things that might be obvious to those who have read it many times, but for studying the WOTFAQ and reading arguments here. If someone reads it  a few times in isolation, I don't know that they necessarily have an advantage over someone like Trakand, who has read it once but has discussed it extensively. The poor girl has to have had large swathes of the plotline ruined for her, though. :(

...And such a lovely tongue it is too.

I'm on my first re-read.
As am I. It's taking a while though, because I currently have eight books on the go.

Well there you go, Mr Ares - Anthony likes you ... he really really likes you!  ;D

So Trakand, and everyone else who's eventually finished them all: what do you think of Book 11?
