One would notice that I have included Barmy as #7 because if he ends up with 6 votes and refuses to vote for himself, that will tell us quite a bit, won't it?  Also, I have removed all the ladies from voting not to be sexist, but in Chapter 12 of Metagaming for Dummies: in co-ed mafia games, at least one of the mafia is female.  Thorum makes #5 simply because he already has a vote on Verbal. 

 

Does everyone agree with these two lists?

 

1) I'm not a lady.

 

2) I vote verbal since it's the most useful possible vote: prodding everyone to post, or they have at least one vote on them. Most of the time, it's only symbolic.

I agree with Mynds idea, must be mad but it actually makes sense. I don't think it matters whose in what list. So I guess I should look and vote for some else.

Barm I thought you were supposed to be your no.7 vote to prove what you say is true and that you were willing to put that vote on yourself to see if you were lying or not!

It shouldn't matter if the BARM votes are in order, right?  Mynd was just pointing out that Barm would need to vote for himself.

 

If anything, I think that all of the non-Barm voters should go ahead and place their votes. A few players have not posted yet and it would be easy to argue that someone just showed up, saw a bandwagon on Barm and voted without reading the entire thread. We don't want to wind up with a dead Barm and no clear suspects.

I agree that the order doesn't matter except Barm, I think Mynd was saying that if Barm is telling the truth then he will be more than happy to put his vote on himself at the 7th vote. If he isn't he will be signing his lynch if he does and so be more reluctant too polace that 7th vote.

Nah, its just important that you are one of the 7 votes.  DPR makes a good point too that the non-Barmy folks should go ahead and vote so that there isn't the "oops, I just joined the bandwagon" deal.

Ok, just to be clear, we should vote Barms because we all got a pm from the mod stating that Barm is mafia... Only that not everyone should vote Barm, specially if you are a girl, or Thorum because he already voted for someone else. Also, Barms doesnt care and votes for himself,but wonders if he should vote as #7 because that will be the lynching vote.... I got everything then?

I think Barm voting for number 7 is important. Even if he does do it, and is lynched, we know he lied and we have gotten rid of a mafia, if he does and doesn't lynch, we at least know that part of what he says is true.

For a bit of clarity

 

Barm claims it takes 8 votes to kill him, not 7. i.e. 1 more than normal.

 

Therefore if he is correct, we can vote for him 7 times. If he doesn't die, we know he was telling the truth (about that statement at least - not necc. everything). If he does die, he was lying.

 

Lynching "Lying Liars who Lie" is a common tactic and works well. Consider this in some ways calling a bluff.

 

Im inclining towards believing him, but it doesnt harm to make sure.

 

We just have to make sure that no one puts an eigth vote on him. Or, whoever does had better be prepared to be lynched cause that'll look even more scummy then adding "I <3 Mafia" to your sig.

DPR is right, Mynd, you listed Thorum as both voting for and not voting for Barm (hence the Schrodinger's Thorum comment) and never listed me.  I assume that you want me to vote [glow=red,2,300]Barm[/glow].  But like I said, anyone who puts an eighth lynch vote on Barm should be lynched.

I know he said he had to have 8 votes Dae, thats the point of him voting for himself on the 7th one. That is the normal number to get lynched. So if he was lying he lynches himself. If he  isn't lying it will stay on 7 and he won't get lynched and we know for that part he was telling the truth. If someone adds the 8th vote, we have a good idea that they are mafia. It's quite simple!

Yeah, I screwed up on that.  Thorum should be for not voting since he already has a vote on Verbal (I wasn't questioning his gender, but I'm sure Tigara appreciates the tables turning for a change).  Hybrid was supposed to be in the chosen 7 to vote Barmy and has rightfully done so.

 

I am with Dae that I am inclined to believe Barmy, but we need to be sure.  And like he said, whoever puts an 8th vote, even accidentally, might as well put "I am a scummy scumbag full of scum" in their siggy. 

 

Also, I still think we should reveal the roles that we had submitted.  I am sorry but I sent in the role for an Exploding Pumpkin that shoots lightening out of its arse.  Basically, its a bomb character who takes down a random player who is involved in his/her demise.  Although I didn't specify their alignment, I am pretty sure they would be an innocent player. It is indeed quite possible that CP has made some modificatins to this role, but I just want everyone to know that such a role is out there.... and I am no Pumpkin.  ;D

Whether or not you believe Barms, the plan that Mynd has laid out does do one important thing - it gives us information on day 1.

 

I'm going to wait to vote until the non-Barm voters have shown up and voted, just to be safe.

 

I'm torn on the idea of revealing which role we sent in. I see the good and bad points in it, but the key is that unless everybody does it, then its next to useless. Why don't we hold off on any more reveals unless we decide to do it as a group - keeping in mind that the mafia will obviously lie.
