the finder and healer (if we have one or more) must never reveal unless they absolutely have to. thats one of the most important rules of Mafia. since we have a couple new ones here, I think its good to just clear that up. there is only one group who would benefit from rolerevealing and thats Mafia. a healer who can only heal him/herself could just as well have been another townie, only that he/she wouldnt have been nightkilled.

 

I'm not a fan of random lynching, but for Day 1 its the best shot we've got.

No I do not think we should ask the targeted person to role reveal:

 

1. If you call for role reveals people will lie.

2. We will give mafia information.

3. Then like you said there could be more than one finder/healer, so that may leave us thinking one evil/one good so who to believe or they may all be townies.

4. Not everyone may have a role.

5. People will let us know if they have a good role before we lynch them.

Well thats the idea isn't it...

 

People will reveal their role, before they die, in an effort to save themselves. Thats the whole point behind voting for people so that the truth can be revealed.

 

Infomation helps the town (uninformed) much more then the mafia (informed) does...

I'm going to vote for [glow=red,2,300]Vemy[/glow] for now. Why? Just a gut feeling whilst reading through and his post caught my attention, There wasn't much in the post just the Lynch name, and I think thats what caught my eye. Vemy not say much...just seemed odd to me.

If you look back at the last few games, the innocnets have been taking a beating. Time after time the mafia wins and it's not because they've worked out some brilliant schemes. It's because the innocents keep going against proven techniques that win games.

 

Do not reveal your role! There is no cause to do this on the first day unless you are about to be lynched and are trying to save your skin.

 

Only scum ask for role reveals at this point, so my vote stays on Ilgross. Granted it was a random vote at first, as first days alwys are. But now he is squirming and calling for reveals for information and saying it's fine to vote random. Just not for him.

I assume you are talking to Talya, who for no particular reason, decided to draw a little attention off of an Ilgross bandwagon that was starting to pick up steam. Hmmm. I wonder what that could mean?

 

It will take 11 votes to lynch, so he was not in much danger, but it could be a subtle move. Pity to lose a fellow mafia so early in the game if it can be avoided ;)

 

With 11 votes needed to lynch, this might turn into the Thanksgiving Mafia game, even the Xmas Mafia game. Or, welcome to the Summer Solstice Mafia game....Play on!

and I still think Ilgross sounds way more suspicious than Vemy or Talya or any of the other players here..  so i'm concidering actually voting this round as it seems voting for Ilgross wouldnt be a random vote but a vote for someone I actually think might be scum..

 

and I dont think everyone has roles in this game.. or Ilgross would have taken his own advice and revealed his own role no? yes?

Well I'm certainly glad I slept on it. I had done a random number roll, but it went against my gut feeling, and I must say the circumstances seem to be pointing me more and more to voting for ilgross. I agree that revealing any roles this early in the game would only end in tragedy, and the fact that he seems to want to discuss more his stand on revealing rolls than defending his own innocence only makes it more suspicious. I don't really feel that I'm joining a bandwagon, but these were thoughts tumbling through my head on their own last night.

Well, I feel like I'm overly late for the game, already 6 pages long. :( I'm jealous. And here I thought we were in a creepy house supposed to be scared, but no, everyone is partying without me. For shame on you all.

 

Right now the way I see it, yes Talya makes a good point, Vemy not being very talkative is a huge harbinger of things. It is the most unlike Vemy I've ever seen Vemy. But then, he could be taking a relaxer due to arthritis in his fingers like I'm sure I'll end up with from some of my long winded posts. Right now, Ilgross does seem the logical choice with his advocation of role revealing and yet he hasn't done it himself. If one suggests something such as that, they should readily jump to adhering to their suggestion and not hiding behind it and trying to make themselves the exemption to the request. One should be making a stand to support their thought, not lurking in the shadow. But like the dude, I'm going to hold off any voting for a little bit until I get my itty bitty asterisk next to my name to signify I've been confirmed. Just thought I'd get an initial post in so I didn't look like I was dead or anything. Don't need to be mistaken for Seth or anything, that wouldn't be good.

Sorry guys, I'm rarely on during the weekends, and I didn't have the little asterisk thingy so I didn't want to break the rule and post...but then dude posted so now I am...and if he jumps off a bridge I'll probably do that too. :P

 

Right, well...my thoughts:

 

Vemy is on vicodin. If he's a little loopy, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt this game.

 

While ilgross usually plays a more aggressive than passive game, I interpret his manner as cocky...it makes me leery of even putting a vote on him (which I wouldn't anyway, since I don't participate in the happy random first vote frenzy). I think there is more going on there. People who generally start out aggressive (see my last game), know that people are going to think it suspicious...especially in the first voting stage, when anyone is just looking for an excuse to vote someone. Ilgross is experienced, he is aware of this. So that leads me to believe that he either A: has a reason to be aggressive this early or B: Wants to be a target. Then there is always the less desirable C: Is completley being innocent and we're all just chasing phantoms.

 

Other thoughts:

Metagaming = mostly bad ;)

And I hate the first round vote. I abstain, as always. :D

The first vote is always a crapshoot.  That being said, pretty much anyone is as good as anyone else, short of someone acting odd.  Asking someone their role is odd enough for me.  May as well get this over with.
