All the innuendos. People comparing their wand sizes! Hermione talking about how Bellatrix tasted. The Deathstick!!

Umm.. Harry telling Ron that he had always thought of Hermione as a sister was definitely high on the list.

And to the more serious stuff: Snape not being evil after me thinking he was evil for about 600 pages. Harry walking towards his death with grim determination. Fred dying made me feel hollow inside. FRED!! I LOVE(d) Fred! And of course Neville OWNED them all!!

And I think I'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed the epilogue. It made me giddy and happy and I finished the book with a smile.

And I just wrote the most coherent review  I've been able to since finishing. Which is saying something as this isn't making much sense.

Same, I'd definantly say the entire book was wonderful. People who arn't fans of the series because "they arn't our using magic" like my brother would love this book and I loved it even more XD.

Really glad they ended things at Hogwarts, no surprise to me that Snape was innocent. Been on that band wagon sicne book 6 release. Though I had no idea he was in love with Lilly Potter (mother)!

The entire battle of Hogwarts, including getting the final confirmation that Snape was indeed a good guy, which I've believed for a long time. But just as Vemynal, him loving Lily was quite a surprise.

Though I was a bit disappointed that Harry saved Draco. twice! After everything that's been between theme, I almost hoped Harry would Avada kedavra that snotty brat, though of course that would never happen.

That reminds me! I'm SO happy Draco eventually redeemed himself! I love Draco! (I blame it entirely on the fandom, of course, but still!) The only thing that would have made me happier was if Remus said he was mistaken in marrying Tonks was because HE IS SO CLEARLY GAY. *coughs* Yes.. right.. anyway. DRACO! <3

My most enjoyed part was Harry's revelation about the Hallows. It sucked me in like a pothead smoking a joint. Sorry for the poor analogy. :P

And vemy; that bit was pretty lulz. I liked it.

I actually enjoyed all of the book, bar the epilogue. I didn't put it down from start to finish i was so immersed in the final chapters of Harry's tale.

-I loved when Molly killed Bellatrix.  Way to go, Molly!

-I enjoyed the part when Harry visits Snape's memories in the Pensieve, and we finally get to learn Snape's story.  I bawled during that whole part.

-When Ron put socks on Dobby's feet during his burial, and what Harry carved on Dobby's grave.  Priceless.

-Harry's final defeat of Voldemort.

-Harry talking to Dumbledore's portrait after the end of the final battle.

-The story of the Deathly Hallows.

-The visit to the graves at Godric's Hollow.

-The silver doe, and what it represented.

I loved Molly vs. Bellatrix. She pulled out the can and served it to Bella for dinner.

I LOVED Snape's memories. It explained so much. I loved how he loved Lily. *sniff*

I loved Neville, and his grandma.

I loved the part where Ron saves Draco, and he says something to the effect "And that's the SECOND time we've saved your life, you <insert expletive>.

The part where Dudley doesn't hate Harry, and Harry realizes it was out of affection and caring that the teacup was by his door. I still want to kill Vernon and Petunia though.  >:(

And while I understand why, I pity Albus. Severus. Potter. Ugh.

Dude...Scorpio? *cackles* (and yes I got why he was named that as well)

I was crushed that Tonks AND Remus both died. I cried when Fred died. And was anyone else heartbroken with the first casualty being Hedwig? I literally exclaimed out loud, "Rowling, that was just wrong. Why did the owl have to go first????"

I also have to say that I expected more deaths than there really were.

I always knew Snape was a good guy. There were way too many hints to that effect in HBP. I loved that his "punishment" of Ginny and her gang was to be sent into the Forbidden Forest with Hagrid, and Harry realized that it wasn't much of a punishment. I also loved seeing Snape's memories at the end. I always figured that he'd had some sort of positive experience with Lily, seeing as how he never made fun of her in front of Harry, but I didn't expect that he'd been in love. It was a nice addition, though, as was his patronus.

The epilogue was lame. The only good part about it was that Harry learned to respect Snape and lost his prejudice against Slytherin house. Otherwise, it's just like very other lame post-Hogwarts fanfic out there. It might have been more fun if the prologue had been a big holiday gathering that could show all of the Weasleys and more about the state of the wizarding world after Voldemort. I also would have liked to see what happened with the Dursleys, and whether Dudley's new-found good will toward Harry would have lasted.

I rather pitied the Malfoys throughout this book, especially Narcissa and Draco :p

Edit: Isn't JKR quoted somewhere as saying that she was disturbed by the idea of Snape falling in love? Why is that? I didn't find it disturbing in the least ???

Because Snape's an anti-social nutcase. That's why. :P

There are a lot of parts i enjoyed about this book... I need to reread it to absorb EVERYTHING. I just can't bring to memory everything that happened. But aye, when Molly opened one ginormous can of whoop-ass out on Bellatrix i was rather happy. I think it should've been Neville exacting his revenge upon her but that could also be too.... Expected.

"NOT MT DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!"

<3 Molly Weasley XD

Knew she was a good fighter too! All her kids had to be scared of her for a reason!

I thought it was sort of obvious from Snape's memories in HBP that he loved Lily Potter.  Just the whole of the encounter between Snape, Lily and the Marauders pointed to it. It seemed like Snape was more embarrassed by Lily coming to his rescue than anything else. That's what I think caused him to snap at her like that.

But I picked that up on my second re-read of HBP when I was looking for evidence that Snape might really be a good guy at heart.

I thought it was glaringly obvious that Snape was always a good guy. It felt as if he didn't really relish killing Dumbledore to me, like it was a duty he had to fulfill, never let go of my belief that he was really on Dumbledores side. Though, his love of Lilly was a little better hidden.. But not well enough for the all seeing eyes that i posess in these matters!

I also thought it was glaringly obvious that Snape was a good guy (though I did have a small fear that JKR wouldn't go that way, despite all the evidence). He didn't seem all that excited about the prospect of swearing to help Draco in his duties...and not just because he would die if he failed, but because if he was really on Voldemort's side, he shouldn't have any worries about finishing whatever menial tasks Voldemort set for Draco.

And then there was all that business at the end of HBP, during the battle at Hogwarts. We already knew that Snape either had to kill Dumbledore or die himself (due to the pact he made with Narcissa), and we'd heard Snape and Dumbledore talking about a task that Snape didn't want to go through with. Snape's revulsion while he kills Dumbledore, then, makes perfect sense...because he had to do something that disgusted him.

Then on his way out, instead of hurting Harry, he stops another DE from doing so (instead of taking that opportunity to capture Harry). And then all he did was fend off Harry's attacks and yell some advice at him, instead of attacking Harry directly. I think he finally did attack Harry -- with a very mild spell, as I recall -- when Harry called him a coward. An evil Snape would not care if Harry called him a coward. Only a good Snape, who was risking his life to keep Harry safe and lead the life of a double agent, would become angry enough from that to finally attack Harry.

I didn't pick up on the fact that Snape was in love with Lily, but the rest of the clues in HBP (not to mention the rest of the books) was enough for me :)

I had caught that there was a hinted connection between Lily and Severus in the previous book, but I didn't think that it was Snape actually being in LOVE with her.

I agree with Zardi about the Epilogue. I would have also liked to hear a little more about the wizarding world. More particularly, what the heck did the kids end up doing with their lives? JKR put so much emphasis on what these kids were going to end up being in the future, and then she only tells us about Neville. I was quite disappointed with that. Still loved the book though.  ;D

I always thought Snape was on the good side and waiting through the whole book for it to come, so was so pleased when it died. I knew he really liked Harry's mum and I wasn't surprised he loved her.

FDM I agree with you the Dudley bit was really good, I liked that bit.

the Epilogue left me a little cold, it was a bit of a come down after the final battle I think.

I was surprised thay let Lucius Malfoy, sit there in the end after rounding all the other death eaters up. Seemed a bit strange after some of the things he had done.

I loved it, I ended it with a smile and that was the best part I think. My emotions were dragged all over the place during this book. I cried for each death and many of them I didn't expect. I knew we would lose Snape, Pettigrew, Voldemort, Lupin, and at least one of the Weasley's, but I was shocked when she killed both Tonks and Lupin after they had a child and when Mad Eye died, and Hedwig, I hated that part. I love how Kreacher became good in the end and I always knew Snape was good, I actually voted for it at our local borders. I was I have to say shocked at the amount of deaths and I cried that hardest at Dobbey and Freds, poor George!!
