This was included in Turin's explanation he supposedly received from Darthe.

 

It doesn't appear in what Darthe explained about the role.  Seems like someone really did know more about the role than everyone else.  So did Darthe accidentally slip info to a player via PM about a role that wasn't theirs or did the condemner actually out themselves.

 

Unless I missed it, Darthe didn't confirm that he sent a separate PM to Turin, he just clarified the role. Was it Ironeyes that replaced Turin?

I thought that post from Turin was a pretty pro-town move. It would be way easy to just let everyone be confused about the role and say nothing, rather than trying to clarify.  Unless you think he posted this just to get town cred?

I thought the rules were that the mod would never confirm anything about PMs. So there is nothing sus about Turin claiming this unless his info was inaccurate.

 

Or do you mean his PM means he is likely the Condemner? But if he was he would not need to pm Darthe... Though I suppose...

I recall Turin's post. I'm pretty sure I even gave him credit and said it was a good tip.

 

I find it hard to believe it's a slip because he was specifically warding us off of character claiming. If he was the condemer, it would have been incredibly dumb to warn us against it. It's entirely counterproductive.

 

In Darthe's op about the setup he does mention that that role needs to find a specific character. I don't think I would have inferred what Turin warned us about myself because I didn't read the description of the role in depth initially.

 

Darthe can't actually confirm him asking cause it might be leading. But it does mention it's character based in the info darthe gave in the first post of the game.

 

Can somone bump darthe's clarification about the role if you come across it? Thanks

I cannot see anyway he is not mafia. It just does not make any sense unless he is. But he isn't CCd. So I don't have a clue, I literally have no answer. But if he isn't a wolf why did he not immediately accept your receipts of the TMI thing? Why didn't he get it straight away? Why did he in the first place get pinged when I only repeated what Darthe had said the day before? How does being the hider answer any of those things?  

 

I don't have any answers but it makes more sense that he is mafia than hider. My vote can obviously still be moved, but I don't have any where better to put it. 

 

First bold - what do you mean by misquoting v. misunderstanding?

 

Italics - Accusing people happens in mafia. It's part of solving, imo.  I find the inclusion of dice and Rand together here weird because we don't know dice's alignment?

 

Second bold - I don't remember this?  Although, tbf, I have obviously had struggles keeping up.  Can you quote these?

 

Second italics - Are you talking about yourself here?  I find this really weird also?  You cannot expect people to avoid emotional players just because they are emotional????

 

Last bold - My question here is, what does pursing this get him as scum?  Seems a ridiculous play to me seeing as his would-be partner just got lynched for lying.  Imo, that mistake would make any remaining mafia be really careful not to lie on thread and sticking to the mistake after it being pointed out seems dumb if mafia.  So much easier to just be like, "oops?"

So here's the thing.  Sometimes, when you're making up a mafia game on the fly because your ole pals have some weird aversion to cults or whatever, you see a new role.  And sometimes, when reading what that role is on the mafiascum wiki you maybe skim a bit, maybe read the sample role PM down at the bottom and misinterpret the night action from the example where they were also a role cop, normal stuff. 

So then it takes you like, until a bunch of your players point it out, to realize that you built the role to be a serial killer who's kills only go through if they hit the right *character* which you randomly selected pre-game, when it was supposed to be based on a lynch.

Anyhow, not that any of that would ever happen to me, but if it did that'd be real embarrassing and I also wouldn't be able to change it so we'd all have to live with it.

He does.  But he does NOT say that the condemner would know which character?

 

And maybe I'm wrong and that Turin/Ironeyes isn't the condemner but scum.  We don't know what kind of reads our doc is supposed to get, he's been blocked.  Maybe Turin had another reason to not want characters names announced.  But he says something that the mod does not.
