I do agree that it was probably above the Cauthon girls expected abilities to heal Alanna. I expect Nynaeve to be able to mass heal, and also heal mental illnesses, and of course Saidin along with Rand because she is THE MOST POWERFUL CHANNELER IN A THOUSAND YEARS,lolololololol.

When has she seen him handle vast amounts of the power? The only time I can remember is when he faced Ishy at the end of season 1 and you would have to question what exactly she would have seen then as she would not have been able to see any weaves and there was little else. She would have seen nothing in season 2 and she has not been present for any of his channeling in season 3.

 

He was solo shielded in late season 2 I think by both Siuan and Leane.

She would have at least seen that HE BROKE CUENDILLAR. Something supposedly impossible. Even if she didn't see the weaves, the effects were immense. She has seen Nyn use vast power and it's assumed that the Dragon is stronger still. 

 

Power and skill are different. He had and probably still doesn't have the skill to decipher what attacks people are using against him nor how to defeat them. He wiped the floor with Sammael while seemingly distracted by the voices from the taint or something. Just thought if an interesting thing, in every situation against a man he has been dominant, but when faced with a.woman has been shielded every time. Is it just he can't see/feel saidar coming for him? 

Maybe she saw him do some crazy things in the rings? I'm just saying it's not totally  far fetched.

I forgot the seal cracked.

The Sammael scene was after the conversation I thought and she missed all the actual fighting.

 

I was just pointing out i dont think she has actually seen that much in regards to how strong he is.

That's fair.  I realised that looking back. We don't see her see him do uber powerful things. Other than the seal.

I think if I watched the episodes with other major fans I’d like them more. Geek out on certain scenes. He actually really liked the Rand/Sammael ending.

Yeah, no. First, other than Rand/Lanfear we haven’t SEEN any ‘banging’ at all, just making out and the implication that more happened. 
 

And it’s not like the making out has been super hot & heavy. I feel like they’ve handled the romances very, very well. Much better than Jordan, tbh.

I don’t think Ishy gets “drawn into” dreams. He enters the ones he chooses.

I’m not sure the dude is so random. I get the suspicion that he goes by the name Juilin Sandar. He has the look (not that that always matters in this show) and Juilin was a big part of the Tanchico storyline. Given that he catches thieves I’d say he’d be particularly skilled at tracking down lost items.

I loved this episode. The banter between the crew in Tanchico was golden. The intensity of Rands heartbreak and despair at the end was so well done. Some things felt a little glitchy, but I blame the shows need to pace fast to squeeze in so much. 
 

I especially loved the moment of Nyneave fighting the compulsion. And can’t ignore the cute scene of Mat using his charm on the dude in Tanchico to find the bracelet. I love seeing that Mats flirtations know no boundaries 😉

 

Sammuel being the “little surprise’” was such a jab from Lanfear 😅

tbh, with all due respect for robert jordan and his amazing work, that wasn't a very high bar to clear.

 

that said, they did include and represent well a strong, non-sexual relationship. that between lan and moiraine.

if not for that one, i'd also be in the "they seem to imply that people can't be intimate without shtupping" party

Yeah but he was recommended and hired for that. He was not just some random guy that they met in a bar gambling. Juilin was actually extremely anti-gambling.

 

I feel if it was him they would have mentioned his name.

That could be the case but we are now dealing with an ability that really bears no resemblance to the one we started referencing from the book.

 

It is now an ability that allows him to sense channelers in the dream and also sense extreme feelings that are not directed at him or allows him to use need with incredible precision on people who would be incredibly unlikely to be in the dream themselves.

 

So it really is something entirely new.

Quick attempt at rewrite to remove some of the issues.

 

I mean if it is Sandar then why not have him being hired by one of the murder houses relatives to find out about what happened to said relative. He is cautious because he thinks it might involve Aes Sedai from surveillance he has done, he then hears that others are amateurishly asking after the same group so decides to investigate them and then ingratiates himself with them by providing useful information to further his investigation.

 

I would not have him giving the bracelet as it sitting in a shop after thousands of years and him knowing the location is too outlandish. Maybe have him provide the location in a museum or the like and he figured it out from the information he has gathered on the murder house suspects and the questions they have been asking.
