Well, time to introduce myself!

 

I've been reading WoT since about 1999. I read it through once and stopped at Winter's Heart; I'm just finishing my second read-through and am 1/6 of the way through Knife of Dreams, which is splendid. Also I have, alarmingly, gotten my girlfriend addicted, despite her preference for Tolstoy and Jane Austin and her complete absence of geekdom - proof that R.J. is in fact a very good writer.

 

The nickname is pronounced to rhyme with Tire or Pyre or Fire. I haven't used it in years, but couldn't think of a new one.

 

Life details: I am interested in cognitive anthropology, guitar, writing, photography, and a ton of other stuff, including gardens. I'm 24-ish.

Most of my photos are 35mm b&w, but I'll check. There could be some good photos of the alps, not art-y, mind, but the alps hardly need art to make them beautiful.

Barmacral, I've been going through the General Discussion forum for months now with a bit of caution... Accidentally had a few things spoiled (eg. Egwene's capture & Taint will be cleansed), but it's been mostly safe. As far as Asmodean, my vote's for Grendael. Lanfear and Slayer both right out in my book, and I don't think Moiraine had the motive. Lanfear was my intuition at the time, but it subsequently was confirmed that she died, of course, so Grendael is the only choice that makes sense. Of course Moiraine had to live, but I will be disturbed if Moiraine wasted a wish (if she got any) on killing Asmodean. After all, aren't requests hinging on the dark punished? Perhaps her method of entry was odd, but that gives no reason to believe that if she got requests she'd have the right to be reckless about them. And then why not request to kill a more threatening Forsaken? After I finish KoD, I'll skim the thread and see if my thoughts change much.
