It was fun! We decide to book the same one for next year. We got a bigger room.

@Jeannaisais you are a very busy lady!!! I’m glad you’re still around! Hopefully things aren’t too crazy!

I have survived another year as a teacher in America and for some crazy reason agreed to return again in August lol

I know many hear and read horror stories of teaching in America and yeah somedays it's a bit rough but I can't imagine doing anything else

Also, my son has decided he wants guinea pigs so guess what we're doing this summer? lol

I'm still around (somewhat). I don't get to stay up as late except for weekends

due to the day job. I'm always looking for a good excuse to escape to a campfire

though. 😁

welcome back Thor! It’s been a while. What’s new with you buddy!?

😁 Greetings @Cairos! I am very well, my friend. I'm working at a health clinic these days...

I know...never I'd ever have a desk job much less a clerk. (don't let the Browns find out 😉) I

recently started a series reread, got the itch, and started missing the stables. Hope y'all are

doing well.

@ThorkinBarrimore I'm glad that you're doing well and I'm glad that you are coming back to see us. Yeah i'm doing great too. I work at an ER in San Francisco Bay Area and its a trauma center. It gets pretty busy and crazy. Please stay around lol

Oh I definitely will! My parents took a trip to San Fran when I was little. Great Ice Cream!

I'd want to go and see the house from Full House if I could find it.

That does sound pretty exciting. On a good day here the phones are the

only thing that gets crazy here unless there's a rapid response. Sometimes people come here thinking we're a hospital and so we have to call them an ambulance.

Middle of July???? *does a mad dash around checking all of the calendars* So soon? But why? HOW? What HAPPENED to summer break???

ok that was too dramatic but in all reality - time sure does fly when you're having fun lol Kiddo and I have kept busy with lots of different fun summer activities 🙂

I know! 2024 is going way too quickly. Outside of redecorating the upstairs room in a forest theme I've been enjoying my Wheel of Time reread (I'm halfway through The Great Hunt....searching for the Horn. I'm in the right place for that. 😉).

I finally got the entire Juniper Books Wheel of Time book set (with the Dragon Reborn

sleeve) for display in the room upstairs as well. So, Summer's been pretty good

so far just a little too hot for my liking.

Redecorating is so much fun - I've been repainting the house (getting rid of all the paint colors the ex husband chose 😉 )

And I'm doing a reread too, my first journey through by audiobook and it's been so fun! I'm about halfway through The Shadow Rising so not far from where you're at lol

Oooo that set does look awesome - you'll have to show off your display once you've got it set up!

Oh yeah. Redecorating and/or organizing helps me declutter my brain especially

after a long day at work. Cooking does the same thing although I try to stay away

from the cheesecake (which I fail at miseraly). 😂

The first time I read the series (or rather listened on audio) I was wowed with the two

people that did the audio books. I think it was Michael Kramer and Kate Reading. They did

such a great job! It was the first really big fantasy series I had ever attempted and I probably

wouldn't have finished if not for the audio versions. Now, that I have more time on my hands

I'm going back and actually reading the books. There was so much I missed or had forgotten

and it's been a real joy taking the time to relive it again.

The Juniper bookset looked amazing when I got it last Wednesday. I took several photos. I'll try

to see how I can get them from my phone to my laptop so I can post them here. I have Lan's

Malkieri ring displayed along with it as well. 😉

Glad you're still around. Yes please show us a pic of the bookset when you get a chance. I've been doing tons of baking for our potluck at work. I probably need to finish the series since now I'm older lol.

It amazes me how differently readers use audio - I'm the opposite in that I have to do the physical read first because my listening retention for audiobooks is subpar and is a skill I'm now working on, thus why I'm finally listening to the audio versions!

I need to start doing more cooking/baking again - it can be cathartic!

And I look forward to seeing your book set-up and am pre-jealous before having seen it haha I'm just glad I snagged the hardbacks with the original dust jackets before they changed those a few years back

Wait a minute... you haven't finished it yet??? *gasps* I'm going to lock you in a closet (with a light, don't you worry) and make you finish this series! Go on, go finish those books!

I distinctly remember reading the last book during my first summer off as a teacher. Told myself I'd read one or chapters a day and then I hit the infamous 200 page chapter and thought it'd take me a few days to finish it. Nope. I read that in almost one sitting because I couldn't stop - only did stop for snacks lol

I probably should have read the books first in hindsight. At the time I was looking for

something to listen to during those long commutes to school and work (I think it was

about a 40 minute drive each way) but, thankfully, I don't have to drive that much

anymore. I'll try to get those photos up this weekend sometime.

If we keep up all this cooking we might have to make a sweet campfire cookbook. 😉

Oh that sounds like a great idea Thor. Yeah i need to get back into reading it. I remember reading the books when Charis from the Whites got me into them. I used to work with her and she told me about the books. Do you like audiobooks?

@ThorkinBarrimore Bro that is awesome. Where did you get that?

Hey, man! Sorry I didn't get to respond earlier. I'm glad to be back too. I got the bookset at

Juniper Books-Wheel of Time Bookset and they deliver pretty fast (shipping was free). They

do other cover sets too like Harry Potter (including all House versions) and The Hobbit-Lord of

the Rings as well. They are spill resistant and you can clean them but...I'm not gonna test that

theory. I would totally have to use some Aes Sedai serenity in something got spilt on it.

Ohhhh I gotta check it out. I love Harry Potter! So excited lol.

I hope you enjoy them. I wish they had some Discworld ones as well but that's a LOT of books...

likie 41 last I counted and would probably be way too much. I'll just keep my handy pocket

paperbacks on that series.

I checked out the Hufflepuff set. Too expensive!

Oh yes it's definitely a splurge but I finally don't have a car payment this year so that helps.

And, also, *Snuggletackles* his Aes Sedai. 😄 (For old time's sake) 😋

Ohhhhh. They have so many cool book sets. The Harry Potter mash up book set looks so cool. The Train book set for Harry Potter looks cool too.

I used to collect the Hardy Boys book too when I was a child.
