BFG was a goon, so if Nyn's a teammate, it's 50/50 on her being the vig.  Most people wouldn't expose a power role - much less a killing role - at the risk of saving a goon.  And you don't expose yourself/teammates to possibility getting CFDed when you have a save mislynch.

 

Like, it's possible BFG was super confident that nobody was going to move away from Illian and could vote Nyn there for distancing.  But Occam's Razor says Nyn is probably just town.

Probably  not. If it had been a BLOW OUT on the other maybe.... But that only works if people don't CFD onto the scum she voted on. If scum can not lose someone D1 it helps them out a lot. MOST LIKELY Nyn is town. Good chance clov is too... Though if I were you guys and he lived past N3 I would be slightly concerned. 

 

 

I'm still cautious about AJ. He came in late, and looked very towny because of how he caught up but I think scumAJ can do that easily. AJ is a very good scum. Too much experience and the rand.org gods apparently hate him...

You seem fixated about it since early on and I don't get why. Admittedly I haven't had time to stay current and dig in properly... so I get why it would be hard to form a read on me and yet you seem so adamant about it. Ie I understand a null read and following PoE but that hasnt been the case with you at all.

This is everything BFG posted leading up to phase change/immediately after.  Blue is what she said regarding Nyn.  Her reasons for voting Nyn weren't fleshed out by any means... I don't think anybody would reasonably follow her there, even without factoring into the thread's perception of here.  So I guess it COULD be a safe place to distance, knowing that she (BFG) was never going the distance.  But prior to voting, I think it was

 

Illian - 3

BFG - 2

Zander - 1 

Nyn - 1 

 

She had the opportunity to put a known town further in the lead, and a second known town tied with her.  She instead goes to Nyn.  That seems like a pretty -EV play if they're aligned.  BFG says she's an awful scum player (spoiler: she's better than she gives herself credit for), but even if that were true, she's an incredibly intelligent and experienced player.  

 

That wouldn't quite be to a Stupid Flakes level of strategy, but damn, would it be trying.

 

Also, I tried to color code stuff, not sure how effective it is.  Bold was used for discussing either Zander, Tripped, or Illian (flipped town).  Dark blue is Nyn, Marsh is greenish, I'm purple.  I *think* I got all of the direct player references, but I might have missed one or two.

To be serious. The reason I went with BFG last night was because after reading things over I thought there was a good chance that BFG and Clov were W/T Probably not W/W. I'm willing for the forseeable future to say that Clov is town. That's not to say that there's not a small chance he could be scum. I just think it's small... 

 

 

My main thoughts today are Hallia, Dice, AJ (in that order), and possibly Wifi (though really she reads about like she has in all her town games so I'd be willing to keep her until later)

I get Hallia, and I mostly get Dice, but can you talk to me about AJ a little bit more?  I wasn't kidding when I said he was probably the towniest person in the game since coming in (I want to keep saying subbing in...) - he's been digging in a lot more naturally (?) than he did in some of his recent scum games.  When we were T/M in Cory's game a few months back, I thought he was going for a lot of easy, convenient pushes for the sake of doing it.  I realize he's not exactly going deepwolf hunting here, but the logic he's using to make his townreads seems valid and isn't just ignoring the big picture to nitpick the small details, which is exactly what he did with seph and Lenlo IMO.

 

Do you have people you think he would/wouldn't make sense with?  He was tying Hallia to BFG pretty early, and I doubt he'd just be lighting her on fire for the fun of it.  I could see maaaaybe Nyn if it was distancing, but mostly I just like his reasons for bumping her.

I don't think he should be overlooked just because he's been active, either.  But IDK... it feels a lot different than his more recent scum games.  I guess it's possible he's past the burnout and came in ready to style on faces, plus milking the benefit of playing from behind.

It is what worries me.... I would still look at going after some of the more suspicious players but he would definitely be someone I looked at later on if other options didn't work out.

Answering both of these at once: I think it's a steaming pile of WIFOM. BFG had been catching flak all day, knew there was a kill shot in the game (which several people had openly supported sending her way), and probably didn't expect to survive D2 even if she didn't get shot by Kat. If I were in that situation, I'd do the most random thing possible just to confuse the living daylights out of town and bait them into poor decisions. I think BFG chose Nyn to vote because she was an available train that didn't have Chris voting for it. So tl;dr, I want to ignore BFG's vote and read Wifi and Nyn in a vacuum.

Fair enough.  I do think she would probably consider that when making a vote, unless it was actually pure selfpres.  Ignoring that BFG did with Nyn towards EoD, do you think Nyn makes sense as a teammate from HER side?  

 

Remind me again what Hallia did that you thought looked good.  IIRC you were pretty okay with Zander, and he was definitely one of her primary scumreads.
