That would play exactly into Clov’s idea, which would be funny is nothing else.

Theres probably a few different viable approaches but I’m not sure which way would be best yet. We can trust someone that is generally consensus and allow them to choose ok their own (this would be more informative in the verdict results I think) or we could do the same with the nominee but use a more majority approach to agree on who gets put on trial. Which leaves less wiggle room in the verdict results but also spells trouble is wolves can into the town core.

so wing it? ?‍♂️

The idea of laughing at people? lol

I need to go to work anyway so I guess I can think.

Btw should we let the accuser just pick their own by themselves only or do like an "unofficial" vote so they can see who votes who (then make up their own mind)

?

I am too tired for these sorts of thoughts *wails* and having played a similarish "elect a leader" game before where setup discussion didn't about to much but random NAI discussion, I don't know if it's worth trying to instigate a set rule.

Maybe leave it up to each individual accuser so we can see how they approach the decision/decide it?

Current plan:

Find wolfy people, advocate for their lynch if confident. Find Towny people, oppose their lynch. Make reads.

Vote !wolfy?! people on trial hang, No/Abstain otherwise.

I think if everyone does that, then uses voting results and follow-up behaviour to repeat, the game works.

TLDR: I don't have brain capacity to weigh the pros/cons/value of unofficial votes and the potential for their benefit vs distraction/misuse yet. Make reads,  act on reads, kill scum.

If you guys really want to know the optimal strategy, so we can spend less time worrying about it, it would be figure out who's town and who's mafia and worry about the trial procedures later.  /shrug

But you guys probably figured I was going to say that. ?

I think this kind of setup comes with that. It’s inherent and we can’t expect everyone just to understand the optimal play (or even how it works at all lol) without some discussion

generally I’m actually ok with just allowing whoever gets handed the FOS stick to just do what they want and then using the verdict results to move forward. More informative that way I think, and if the person is consensus enough to be given that power then I think they’re in a position already where their judgement can at least be trusted as genuine. The final vote comes down to everyone else anyway so if they pick someone awful the rest can nix it

QFE QFT.

It really doesn't matter that much how we decide who is getting elected accuser or how they use it.  It matters what they say about the person and how the votes fall.  I would HIGHLY encourage everybody takes some time the following day to say why they voted the way they did, especially if their opinion was swayed in either direction during the formals.

Unrelated, but I just schooled some Falcons fans on Julio Jones versus the rest of the NFL.  I said I could name about 20 receivers all time who were better, in terms of era-related success.  In hindsight, I should have said I could name somewhere between 3 - 28 of them.

@Krakalakachkn didn’t deserve that

Can't wait to see how quickly I burn that faith.

I think the discussion on how to handle the votes is as good a place to any to start. At the least, it might let us figure out who cares about helping town and who might just be putting on airs. Its D1, more often than not its a wash until the last 4-5 hours where people suddenly get serious and cut out the jokes.

That we have actual interesting mechanics to talk about here, without dipping into the realm of ridiculous Power Roles, is I think a valid starting point.

Well...I think seph is probably not teamed with darc or darthe.  idk how likely it is they mix up their teammates like that.

You'd be surprised some of the things Darthe does. Or anyone of them does. Heck, Zander was my wolf mate one game like 3 years ago and bussed me for no reason. He still won't let me forget it.

I wouldn't discount teams off of small mixups like that so early.

That doesn't surprise me about Zander or Darthe, I've played with both of them.  I haven't played with seph, but they seem like they were having a hard time grasping the basic mechanics of the game initially, i'm not sure they intentionally mess up on their teammates.

This just looks like a planted seed ><

i read the sign sign up thread a week ago and hadn’t read the lunch mechanic again as I thought I had a good understanding of it. Which has been brought to my attention.

the other game was around the same time, and I 100% feel like it was darc still lmao.
