Raw Recruit Verses

(and bad ones at that...lol)

Oh how we love the wondrous infantry

where we sit around and drink guinfantry

and we all have such chemistry!

as we dance with Jak O' the Shadows

Well the infantry is surely the best

for we play more than all the rest

this rhyming is surely a test

on how well I write Jak O' the Shadows

my time as a raw recruit

my time as a raw recruit is now done

and i do admit that that time was fun

and now two other regiments i must shun

to dance with the jak o' the shadows

archers was where i was first week

and yet this time was never bleak

my way in the band i started to seek

shooting at the jak o' the shadows

in the calvary they couldn't spell my name

but it is not them that i do blame

i wrote an article on horse shoes the game

jousting with the jak o' the shadows

my final week with the infantry

consisted of mostly drinking Guinfantry

again, i have no word to rhyme with infantry

hand to hand with the jak o' the shadows

and now that these three weeks are done

the choice i made was the only one

target, the archers, pardon the pun

to dance with the jak o' the shadows

... (continuation)

As our dance ended, I was left standing

Tired and weary but glad to be breathing

I looked around me, The battle was ending

As we dance with Jak o' the Shadows

Darkness came as the last beast fell

The men seemed freed from a gripping spell

Cheers must've been heard from here to hell

As the men started singing Jak o' the Shadows

"A song and a dance for me tonight,

And a good strong drink while there's no light,

But give me a holler if there's a fight,

I'll dance with Jak o' the Shadows"

RAW RECRUIT VERSE

My Favorite Infantry Members..or How to fit everyone in two verses and fail By BridMorgan

First I met a lamb named Woolie

And then I met a lad named Ash

Glad the first wasn't a bully

and the second lent me cash

Let's dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

I then met a lovely lass

the lady love of the infantry

Thelma and Louise, what class

She even asked me for some Guinfantry

Let's Dance with jak O' the shadows

And then I met Spacey, an infant so proud

A man of deep voice and twinkling eyes

One like him stands out in a crowd

But loves the glimpse of a woman's thighs

Let's dance with Jak O' the Shadows

I need some points for my next promotion

So writing JoTS I put in motion

Showing all my utter devotion

To write my Jak O’ the Shadows

I can only get a few points here

So my skills to myself I volunteer

As I use this as a souvenir

To why I wrote to Jak O’ the Shadows

I need a topic for my new verse

Maybe I should visit the Bands nurse

Oh a stupid topic I do curse

Off to ask Jak O’ the Shadows

A subject I search far and wide

In many I am forced to confide

This verse should have probably long died

In a fight with Jak O’ the Shadows

Still trying to come up with a topic

Seems to me I have become myopic

How I wish I was lost in the tropic

Instead of writing Jak O’ the Shadows

I should have given up long ago

Finding a topic is a worthy foe

I think I will just go shoot my bow

When I find Jak O’ the Shadows

One day I will know what to say

This debt I will eventually repay

I’ll have an actual thought to convey

When writing my Jak O’ the Shadows

So for all who made it this far

You’re probably thinking I’m quite bizarre

I just hope you’re not too badly scarred

Being tortured by Jak O’ the Shadows

*takes a bow* Thank you Thank you, your too generous

*looks up to see everyone just staring at me dumbfounded*

I don't like to write this song

It always does take so long

But not to would be so wrong

So I'll write bout Jak O' the Shadows

I think Vorks has lost her mind

Do ask me how I found this find

I am normally quite kind

But not when dancing with Jak O' the Shadows

If I run from Vorks right now

She'll catch me and make me bow

This she'd do if she knew how

To dance with Jak O' the Shadows

I hope Jak stops this torture

Or I'll go crazy for sure

And there will not be a cure

After the torture of Jak O' the Shadows

All Danya says is hehehe

She thinks everything is so funny

She skips along so merilly

To dance with Jak O' the Shadows

Nothing wrong with being glad

But sometimes it makes me mad

That she's always gladest when I'm sad

I'll just go dance with Jak O' the Shadows

that was....fun

He’s fought Cam, Cuma, Corki, too

Blade and Spacey to name a few

There’s nothing he would rather do

Than dance with Jak o’ the Shadows

His record is seven and four

His future wins he hopes are more

Lord of Battles he’s aiming for

To fight with Jak o’ the Shadows

Cuma’s alphabet battle was tough

The Jak o’ Shadows fight was rough

But he will never have enough

Gaming with Jak o’ the Shadows

With PINK LOIN CLOTH and Vaseline

Fists of Fury and being quite mean

Suffering defeat is unforeseen

When dancing with Jak o’ the Shadows

He’s fought bow, dagger, sword and fist

A horse and a lance would complete the list

To loose to that would make him p!ssed

Dueling with Jak o’ the Shadows

Several fights to finish yet

By November Tiger Fist he’ll get

The he’ll definitely be set

In the Game with Jak o’ the Shadows

RAW RECRUIT ASSIGNMENT

We drink to the sound of Blossom's growl

And heed the call of Blackwind's howl

With hidden midgets on the prowl

To dance with Jak o' the Shadows

There's a singing bass hung on the wall

A killer bunny has a free for all

And Sugar Cube is really small

To dance with Jak o' the Shadows

I am a lonly soal here,

My friends are never near,

But I wish they were here,

To fight the Jack o' the Shadows

This fight is up over my head,

I need to go to bed,

My body feels like it's filled with lead,

After I fight the Jack o' the Shadows

Hyper often I can be

But at times you will see

who hides behind what you think is me,

during our dance with Jak O' the Shadows.

Busy though I always am,

I do my best to find time at the Band,

To show my spirit with the symbolic Red Hand,

through the dance with Jak O' the Shadows.

I always greatly want to write,

but at times I just can't do it right,

maybe I should have been a Wright,

for the dance with Jak O' the Shadows.

RAW RECRUIT ASSIGNMENT

These aren't actually JoTS verses, but I'll just blame that on Ash and Wooly. Ash said "write a song and sing it in the tavern" so I did. I struggled for days, since this is REALLY REALLY not one of my strengths. Then Wooly comes along and told me to post it at DM, so, I will. I guess I could've sat down and given myself a migraine tweaking it to make it a JoTS, but I'm pretty lazy.

There's a woman in the infantry

Who builds the greatest guinfantry

She keeps her sword fighting hand to hand

This feisty red-haired member of the Band

There's another who speaks like a Scot

When it comes to brawls, she relies on thought

She likes to find a lap and have a drink or ten

She orders her brews, not making them ye kin?

Kristine and Taymist are just two

of those I met and served some brew

During my week at the Inn

The infantry makes me grin.

haven't written a verse in a while

i used to like they were going out of style

on my brain away it did file

to dance with the jak o' the shadows

while school work doing i should

and of course do it i really could

i think it is more a case that i would]

to dance with the jak o' the shadows

of late i have become real lazy

it is like my mind has become all hazy

but really that doesn't much faze'me

to dance with the jak o' the shadows

well back to spreadsheets go i must

before my mind eventually turns to dust

just one thing, in rod we trust

to dance with the jak o' the shadows

(yeah, in rod we trust is a simpsons reference, good ol' inanimate carbon rod)

Sing it for the Old-School... !

In through the doors, one by one,

The olds come back to have some fun,

Hands filled with Bandwiesers, not with Rum,

We dance with Jak o’ the Shadows…

You may not know us, but best be sure,

We’ll cause a stir as we dart through the door,

We’ll drink and sing til we fall to the floor,

And dance with Jak o’ the Shadows…

We’ll party on while the moon is high,

And we’ll still be going when noon is nigh,

If you can’t keep up then best not try,

To dance with Jak o’ the Shadows…

We’ll take the lead as we wield our swords

And we’ll help fight back the hungry hoards

Yes, we learnt this stuff on the old Band boards

When we danced with Jak o’ the Shadows…

Our Scouty-scouts are quick to dash,

Our Infantry are keen to bash,

Yes, there’s a reason for our ‘old school’ sash,

We dance with Jak o’ the Shadows…

Drea was a hyper, fearless scout,

Always running ‘round about,

As Commander she had some clout,

She danced with Jak o’ the Shadows!

Then there was Beth, with long, long hair,

A gentle scout both true and fair,

But if you crossed her path, then best beware,

She danced with Jak o’ the Shadows!

And as for Eb, her temper’s foul,

She’d gut you with a garden trowel,

True Infantry she likes to scowl,

And dance with Jak o’ the Shadows!

So many men, it’s hard to name,

But Cab, Mags and Owen deserve their fame,

As do the others, though hard to frame

They danced with Jak o’ the Shadows!

While that was then and this is now,

We’ll try to remember how to bow,

And if you’re unsure, we’ll show you how

To dance with Jak o’ the Shadows…

We’ve caused a stir, that much is true,

But for us old folk, such feats aren’t new,

We wrote around before you grew,

And we danced with Jak o’ the Shadows…

Yes, we’re coming back to the land of Rand,

And for all us olds it’s back to the Band,

Back here again to make our stand,

And dance with Jak o’ the Shadows…

So drink with us as we file on in,

And we’ll party down to the growing din,

The Band’s as good as it’s ever ‘bin,

Let’s dance with Jak o’ the Shadows!

RAW RECRUIT ASIGMENT

You can give me a jelly,

even give me a bandy,

but you should know

that we both dance with Jack o' the Shadows.

Cook up the jelly,

pour down the bandy,

wave your girl goodbye,

cuz tonight we'll drink with Jack o' the Shadows.

Get over the sarrow,

grab a kiss for goodbye,

cuz you know what time is-

it's time to fight Jack o' the Shadows.

RAW RECRUIT ASSIGNMENT

Cavalry drinks a yummy bandy

Some of it is sweet as candy

I think that it would be just dandy

To drink with Jak o'the Shadows

I ride a horse I call Midnight

He runs as fast as a bird in flight

On his back, everything feels right

To ride with Jak o'the Shadows

Cavalrymen can ride a horse

The women can too, of course

What a great fighting force

Riding with Jak o'the Shadows

The archer stood alone on the hill

For a moment the fighting has stilled

Shivering from an unnatural chill

Before returning to Jak O’ the Shadows

That moment of silence soon ended

And back to the fighting she defended

To expel the enemy is what she intended

In her fight with Jak O’ the Shadows

She took careful aim at the skillful foe

Notching arrows to loose them with her bow

Through a sea of arrows they must go

To face Jak O’ the Shadows

One-by-one she watched them fall down dead

The battlefield stained a crimson red

As both her friends and enemies bled

Sent to Jak O’ the Shadows

Her arrows she continued to wield

The battle rage filling her with cold zeal

As she listened to the ringing of the steel

Dancing to Jak O’ the Shadows

The attacking army soon advanced

Her comrades had to take a stance

Continuing in their futile dance

Waltzing with Jak O’ the Shadows

The archer’s arrows were running out

But to her cause she was devout

Never once did she ever have a doubt

Dancing with Jak O’ the Shadows

Soon she was forced to pull out her knives

Fighting her foe their life she deprived

As she fought for herself to survive

Dicing with Jak O’ the Shadows

She danced her merrily way with the blade

Moving with grace, she was unafraid

Many adversaries that day she slaid

Disguised as Jak O’ the Shadows

With a flick of her wrist, turning around

Bowing low, she leapt from the ground

As each foe, her blade fatally found

Spitting at Jak O’ the Shadows

Then the lone archer began to tire

Knowing she’s now in a quagmire

She decided to fight to the wire

Losing to Jak O’ the Shadows

When a sharp pain she felt at last

She knew her time had finally passed

Life in her eyes faded into glass

Meeting Jak O’ the Shadows

The battle ended, blood spilled

Many a comrade had been killed

The Piper extracted a high bill

And off danced Jak o' the Shadows

The Harper played a distant tune

To lament the loss of life by the moon

As he observed the bodies littered and strewn

Caught by Jak o' the Shadows

Taking out some parchment and a pen

He took to writing of the battles din

Contemplating what might have been

Serenading Jak o' the Shadows

“There once was a brave archer lassâ€

Is how his tale began to pass

As he sat, crying in the grass

Cursing Jak o' the Shadows

I sit drinking a bandy or three

the lady of flowers upon my knee

a knight in the Cav is what I be

In my dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

But they tell me a story they need

of a heroic knight and a brave deed

a story I'll give but you pay heed

Or you'll dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

I'll tell a tale of a legendary brew

some may say this story isn't true

but perhaps you are one of the few

who will avoid the dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

This tale begins as most tales do

Sitting in a tavern with a brew or two

bored and looking for something new

Ready to dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

Into the bar staggered an injured man

his face drawn and white under his tan

I offered my help, to do what I can

In his dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

He said he was the last of a chosen few

The guardians of the last immortal brew

A drink to grant you your life anew

the power of the dance of the Jak O' the Shadows

A powerful king had paid the price

immortality won with a bloody knife

to get this drink of immortal life

He would dare a dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

I pledged to help defend the prize

from any foes that choose to arise

Try to steal this brew with lies

and you'll dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

So I soon set out to find this king

not knowing what this quest might bring

maybe a song of which bards will sing

Or maybe a dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

A long journey, filled with danger

in every land I was seen as a stranger

a wandering knight, a deadly ranger

Seeking a dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

I crossed swords with many a King's Knight

fearsome battles that test a man's might

but few can best me in any kind of fight

They failed in their dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

At last I found the king and his final guard

a pair of blademasters who had trained hard

The battle was fast, not a story from a bard

A fearsome dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

Injured and bleeding I stood before my foe

"Your men are lost your castle laid low,

is immortality worth it? to reap what you sow?"

He was facing his dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

The king had lost all trying to never die

the promise of immortality is a deadly lie

If you want to do the impossible try to fly

For all men must dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

So where is this brew now? I can not say

I haven't seen it since that fateful day

My future is uncertain, come what may

I'll accept my dance with the Jak O' the Shadows

So there I was with my MG Brew

Mixed with Retro Cavalry Brew

Let's not forget my Bandy too

Dancing and singing Jak o' the Shadows

Dozing off at the Three Hammocks Inn

An excellent plan came to my noggin

A establishment with hammocks in!

A place to dance and sing Jak o' the Shadows

An inn perhaps or a quarterdeck

Maybe a hot tub, a place to neck

A pool, a gym, oh what the heck!

A place to drink and sing Jak o' the Shadows

So I set off to work my plan

Will cost me dear but oh! what fun!

I checked for cash, Dang! I had none

There goes my singing Jak o' the Shadows

So~ I gathered leaves and sticks

And lit them with some fi~resticks

I thought, "Oh good! Now that's all fixed,

Well that's my song of Jak o' the Shadows"
