For an explanation of major Red Ajah roleplay threads, please see this post.

 

For the timeline, lower events happened first; later events are at the top of each year.

 

A couple of Notes:

• If you are a Red, I would like to include the date you were raised Aes Sedai in our timeline.
• Major Tower RPs are included in the timeline; even if Reds were not involved, they're still important for us to know.
• Age Bracket: So all members may be Aes Sedai in the current timeline, a lot of RPs for novices and Accepted happen in Retro; this changes who the Amyrlin is. For example, if you are in the current timeline 90 years old, the Amyrlin is not the same one as the one upon your raising to the shawl.
• Some dates are inconsistent with the timeline; these will be fixed. (For example, who was Amyrlin when a certain Age Bracket was raised Sister).
• This timeline will always be considered a Work In Progress.

Current Year - 1001 NE (Beginning of the Year)

 

1000 NE

 - Zarinen Rafaliva steps down as Highest; Phaedra si Artema Dematre is appointed Highest. Tatiana Muireach (NSW) and Viviana di Corra (NSW) are raised as Sitters, replacing Larindhra and Jasmyne.

 - The Red Ajah and the Black Tower Asha'man agree to Bond each other. The bonding occurs. Soon, the news spreads to the entire Tower, and other sisters are given permission to bond Asha'man as well. [Link]

 - Cleansing of Saidin. This was never RPed out, but the Black Tower reserves the right to Retro RP it, if so desired.
- Bowl of the Winds RP. [Part 1] [Part 2] [Side Thread] Black Ajah is known to exist (at least among those who took part in the Bowl of the Winds RP).
- Jagen Halin is raised as a Sitter for the Red Ajah.
- Shevara meets with Zarinen, the Highest. Bonding the Black Tower Asha'man is proposed for the first time. [Link]

 - Shevara Edosian, a Red Sitter, is Raised to the Stole and becomes Amyrlin Seat. Raslyn Altearin is appointed Keeper. [Link]

- Annais Nevell dies in a fall from her horse (as far as everyone is told).

- Jagen Halin returns to the Tower after a mostly 30 year absence.
- Annais, as Amyrlin Seat, formally recognizes the Black Tower.

- Zarinen Rafaliva becomes Highest.
- Annais Nevell is Raised to the Stole. [Link]
- Sirayn Sedai, the Amyrlin Seat, is deemed missing.

999 NE - (Late)

 - Watchers RP Begins. [WT/All Ajahs] [Link] Muirenn is burned out and can no longer channel.

 - The Shadow takes Kandor.
-  Rebellion against Aiel in Cairhien. 

 - Sirayn Simeone becomes the Amyrlin Seat. [Link]

 - One Last Stand RP. Caladesh, a Dreadlord/M`aeshadar, wreaks havoc in the White Tower; Lyanna (Keeper) is killed, among others, and Lanfir (Amyrlin) was burnt out and disappeared. (Caladesh was murdered by Lanfir in his cell; public knowledge is only that he was executed by the White Tower). [Link 1] [Link 2] [Link 3] [Link 4] [Link 5]

 - Maegan forms a small alliance with Jaydena Sedai of the Green Ajah.

 - Maegan Ryanne becomes Highest.

 - Perine and Leona Sedai travel north after receiving a letter of request. Both do not return. Foul play is suspected but not acted on.

999 NE (April) - False Dragon Jaron Alainin is captured by Reds and paraded around various cities. [No link exists, and the name seems to be a mash-up of our "Rand" (Jarron Al'tanin and our "Lan" (Logan Allianin), thus could be false information]

 

998 NE - Quiet year in the WT. (book 5)

 

997 NE - (Mid) My Brothers Keeper RP. [Red Ajah] [Link]

997 NE – (Early) In the months after the Dragon has taken Tear, the Sitters find out that the Amyrlin Karana Majin knew about him all along. They try to bring her under heel but she refuses. The Hall sees no other option but to Depose and Still her. Lanfir Leah Marithsen becomes the Amyrlin Seat with the support of the Red/Gray/Green faction. Whites act as the decisive factor and other Ajahs support her choice over Asyndara of the Blue when Lanfir promises to take a Blue Keeper. Asyndara is exiled from the WT. Lanfir fails to keep her promise and chooses her old friend Lyanna instead and this angers Blues, Browns and Yellows who actively form an faction that opposes the rest of the Hall.

 

996 NE - (Late) about 3.5 years ago. The Dragon Reborn declares himself and takes Tear.

 

996 (Mid) - Hunt for Namandar RP. [Green, Brown Ajahs]. A text is found detailing the ruins of a city from the Age of Legends; the Green Sitters (Sirayn, Eleanor, Taya) seek Amyrlin Karana's permission to go investigate it and a missing sister, Tilana Sedai, tied to it. The mission is lead by Sirayn, who is variously accompanied by Kaylan, Jehanine, Lwena, Egwainne, and Raeyn Sedai (Sitter), as well as a few other Browns (TPC AS included: Leilani, Ellvara, Nydylia, Vira, Darealle Sedai). The Aes Sedai are accompanied by their Gaidin and some Tower Guards.

Various events occurred; Lanfir, Lyanna were found after a very long absence; while in the ancient and rediscovered city, the party is attacked by the Forsaken Belal, a dreadlord with him and various Shadowspawn; the body of Tilana and her Warder are found; Leilani and Nydylia are killed; Namandar collapsed into the ocean from the One Power battle that occurred. - While all the Green Sitters are gone on their mission, a Law is passed that requires Sisters embarking from the White Tower on dangerous missions to have the Hall's permission. Upon returning, the Green Sitters strongly oppose and join the Red/Gray faction.

 

996 NE - (Early) A large Trolloc horde attacks Tar Valon but is rebuffed.

 

996 NE - (Early)

 - Muirenn Sedai steps down as Highest. Perine Sedai is elevated to Highest.

 - False Dragon Jaron Alainin in Arad Doman. While the Red Sitters are chasing him, the Gentling Law is changed. The Gray Sisters are the only ones who oppose and when the Red Sitters return, the Grays form an alliance with them. 

 

996 NE - EotW events. Seanchan take Falme and are rebuked soon after.

 

996 NE - False Dragon Dramon Calgar in Borderlands.

 

995 NE - (Early) Crimson RP. False Dragon in Caemlyn. [Red Ajah]

990 NE - Maegan Ryanne returns and resumes her position as Sitter.
 

986 NE
 - Karana Majin is Raised to the Stole. Arette Nentiar is Keeper. (Brown) - 10 Year Reign.
 - Maegan steps down as Sitter, journeying from the Tower for the Academy.

 

985 NE - The Shadows Eye RP. [Yellow/Red Ajah & CotS]

 

976-8 NE - Aiel War

 

972-5 NE - Andor-Cairhien War

971 NE - Maegan Ryanne is chosen as a Sitter for the Red Ajah.

970 NE - Jagen Halin travels abroad (long absence - 30 yrs).
 

950 NE - Fall of the Malkier.

946 NE - Maegan Ryanne returns to the Tower after an absence of 36 years.

 

929 NE - Kathrina DeVir steps down as Highest. Retrains as Sitter & Eldest. Muirenn Sedai is appointed Highest.

- First Borderland RP. [Green Ajah]

825 NE - Kathana Travelear is Raised to the Stole. Many Keepers. (Brown) - 161 Year Reign [She is the first OC Amyrlin of DM]

 

817 NE - Parania Demalle is Raised to the Stole. (Gray) - 8 Year Reign

 

800 NE - Kathrina DeVir steps down as Highest. Muirenn Alianin Aes Sedai is appointed Highest.

 

797 NE - Zeranda Tyrim is Raised to the Stole. (Brown)

 

754 NE - Myriam Copan is Raised to the Stole. (Green)

 

732 NE - Feragaine Saralman is Raised to the Stole. (Blue) - 22 Year Reign

 

720 NE - Kathrina DeVir is Appointed Highest.

 

705 NE - Marasale Jureen is Raised to the Stole. (Yellow) - 27 Year Reign

 

681 NE - Cemaile Sorenthaine is Raised to the Stole. (Gray) - 24 Year Reign

 

638 NE - Varuna Morrigan is Raised to the Stole. (Green) - 43 Year Reign

That timeline is the same as the one from the WT website I think. If you need to check any main timeline specific stuff, you can find it HERE  as I'm sure there may be points that don't agree. The Queen of Manetheren stuff is also no longer relevant as we decided not to proceed down that plot line and to pretend it never happened.

Also, do you have any info on how Dumai's Wells came to be, and how it happened in our world? (I would think Jagen should have been part of that, somehow).

If you look at the May, June and July columns under 1000NE on the spreadsheet, there are little black arrows in the corners that are drop down notes with further details of each event listed but that's all we have.

What if Maegan returns as a Sitter? And we keep Phaedra as head?

 

Whichever works best; also, if you have RPs from this time (even solo) I'd love to read some, to get an idea of your character and her views.

Maegan is a partially blind Red who.. *coughs* was not quite pillow friends with one of the Amyrlin's (of whom she was also very good at making her enemy). She has(had) the talent for creating ter'angreal, and a fondness for tea and naughty novels. She also has first hand knowledge that the Black Ajah both exists and will test any she feels she musts. If i bring her back, she will likely have that weigh heavily as she would not trust those in charge in Red because of her falling out as Head.. and that Black Ajah knowledge.

 

Here is an OP Class with Maegan. 

One with Maegan and Estel of the Blue.. 

 

As for perspective... This would be an interesting read. (for me too! lol! so long ago!)

Lastly... My solo with Mae.. for a successful NaNo project...

I would love to do a Black Ajah related RP with Maegan :o If she comes back. Or when. Would be nice to have her corner Jagen, if she needs someone she can confide in.

Nonetheless, I would love to hunt Black Ajah >:) How was it done in the past? Somehow the Tower acknowledges they exist, or is it that only some AS know?

It was ....  

 

So once upon a time there were the Hunters. Because "hunting Blacks!" was the cool thing in the books, it was not allowed In Character without DL permission. That DL permission was used to create a select few characters that knew out side of the NSW's that died hunting them. (Eleanor/Sirayn I believe? Or it could have been Russ... been a long long time). Anyway, somehow Maegan learned from another character, and when Annais became Amyrlin Maegan and Lillian decided somehow to both test each other and Annais. Believing that one among them was Black. (Maegan has literally unsworn her oaths and resworn them three times. Once at raising and twice to prove she is not Black. So she is thus Thrice Sworn Aes Sedai.)...

 

Which means, if she returns she may be the only one in the White Tower with first hand knowledge that the Black Ajah exists outside of the Actual Black Ajah.

While this makes me cry..... Annais died shortly after raising. Her death is suspected foul play as she was snooping for Black Ajah. (not common knowledge). 

 

 

Although, now I wonder if it's worth (should Maegan stay as Highest) be part of the story that Maegan was overlooked as Highest because of her close ties to the previous Amyrlin (Annais), or she was simply not... as ambitious as Shevara. *random thought*

For some reason I am under the impression it was a different Highest, Zarinen, who first proposed Bonding Asha’man. (I have the thread linked in our Information thread). I’ve spent the past two days at home reading old Ajah related threads and I cannot recall seeing Maegan in those discussions (not the ones that took place inside the WT, anyway). I DID see that Shevara became a Sitter after “Muirenn and Maegan got captured” (by the BT??) but that was all. 

 

If it cleans up the timeline, we could say Maegan was overlooked. But you know, the Reds also have a council that works with the Highest (this isn’t named in the books but IS revealed in the WoT Companion)... maybe Maegan could be a council member? Seems like a possible good solution.

I think there was a...  bond under Muirenn after the "disaster" of the Brother's Keeper and no one wanting to handle -that- crossover. I don't know. Honestly it would be easier to merge a few of the story archs since those individuals are no longer playing and if they want to come back then we can sort that out.. it's in the same timeline to the same affect. Just a differen't M'Hael perhaps.

 

The council was never a thing in the Red. That would be something new to the RP and we'd have to incorporated it appropriately. (Only the Brown and Black used a 'council', formally.)

 

I'm totally cool with us pulling in things from the companion. Though before we make it official, it might be nice to talk about it before making it part of our canon? (especially new things).

I don’t see it making a big difference, honestly. The biggest thing is just this:

 

- Do we keep that Maegan was Highest, but lost her position to Phaedra after getting caught at the BT?

 

or

 

- We forget that Maegan was ever Highest, give it to Phaedra from the start, and just say that Maegan nonethless helped with the idea of bonding to gain traction. 

 

Ideally one of those seems easiest. Especially since it has already been expressed and established that IC Ajah heads must be NSWs. 

 

Please chose whichever of those sounds best to you.
