mafia    known also as werewolf  is a game where you have   usually 2 sides

 

Town  the good guys  and Mafia the bad guys.

 

Town wants to find and "lynch" all the mafia. Mafia dont want that to happen they want to get to a point where there is as many of them as there are town. they win at that point.

 

People vote on who to lynch during the day phase.

 

mafia   and some town roles  kill people at night phase.

 

Its a game where lying is expected.

Alright. So it's a game with two teams. An uninformed, majority town team, and a minority, communicative mafia team. The game is split into days and night.

 

During days you talk on thread and vote who ya wanna kill. Once deaded, you learn what team they were on.

 

Nighttime is killing time. Mafia team usually has a night kill.

 

The town wins when all mafia are dead. Mafia win when they become the majority.

 

Then there's all sorts of special roles and stuff that amplify the game, but that's just flavor and not "the gist"

This here is a DPR game. Which usually a confusing, kill hangry, heavy roled Metalocalypse from whence there will be no survivors.
