  1. No it isn’t. Nobody made up any lore. And nothing about the show’s writing in this area needs to be “justified”. There’s been no discussion whatsoever about how the Black Ajah avoids the oaths.
  2. I’m not taking any bets on that until I see how the Lanfear/Mo confrontation goes down.
  3. I do discount it. I just find these types of comments tired and unfunny.
  4. I’ll bet you a sizable amount of money that Min will not be romantically involved with any of them.
  5. Season 2 showed they don't want to be with Rosamund Pike for too long, There’s an ocean of difference between sidelining her for all most of season 2 and having her take a couple of season hiatus.
  6. They were baddies though, not the hero. It matters. I'd say roughly equal. As to this, I will confess my ignorance. Anime has never really been my jam.
  7. Because of the way her visions are depicted in the show. I guess you're saying that she didn't recognize herself in the vision? It's certainly possible. I think we are ultimately saying the same thing though, which is that Min would not refer to herself as beautiful. A couple of things: (1) Different times. People are just more easily offended now; (2) I think people who read fantasy literature tend to be generally more accepting of alternative societal structures because it's part of the nature of the beast - the same is not necessarily true of tv viewers in general; and (3) to be fair, I don't know that the hero of the story being involved in polygamy would have played on tv any better a decade ago than it would now.
  8. (a) the fact that she saw three beautiful women in a vision does not necessarily mean romantic involvement; (b) I don't get the impression that Min would refer to herself in such a fashion. This does not impress me as evidence.
  9. I’m sure it’s legally possible. It happens all the time. But it could well be legally complicated. Yes. This is why I say it feels like a shakedown. REE is probably pleased as punch right now.
  10. Fair. Counterpoint: depicting the 'Rand has a harem' element of the books was always going to be problematic. The cleanest way of keeping the arc intact was to reimagine Rand/Avi/Elayne as a polyamorous arrangement and remove any romance with Min. This way, everyone gets to keep basically the same relationships (only adding a romantic component to the already deep Avi/Elayne relationship) while side-stepping the harem problem. Min can retain her place as Rand's advisor (a seed they planted back in S1), so the only thing that is lost are the romantic feelings Rand has for Min. The only place I could see this being a problem is But (a) you don't need a romance between Rand and Min to make that work; and (b) it doesn't have to be Min. All in all, I think it was a pretty obvious and elegant solution.
  11. Sure there is. Negotiate with Sony to buy out the IP. If Sony isn’t going to develop it, why let it idle. Tbh, this sounds like a shakedown by Red Eagle
  12. A little more information, courtesy of Winter is Coming: The Wheel of Time tops Amazon charts in major markets around the world Seems like global viewership is very strong.
  13. In order to save a kingdom from countless more deaths…
  14. Obviously there was some force - it was a Succession War. In the scene, however, there is no indication that any of those who did the killing were forced to do so as opposed to willingly doing so for their own personal gain. Is Morgase complicit? Sure. One of those “this is the price of leadership” moments. It shows us what she is capable of - it doesn’t necessarily show us who she really IS. Do you see the difference?
  15. How does this support your argument that Ishy couldn’t invade Liandrin’s dreams?
  16. Well that is certainly what he was TOLD to do. And we know that he was on his way to TRY. What we don’t know is whether he would have gone through with it (or how hard he would have to wrestle with his conscience).
  17. I think you’re misunderstanding the assignment. No doubt the boys were known to the shadow. The question is whether there is some textual support for the notion that Ishy couldn’t invade Liandrin’s dreams the same way he did the boys.
  18. He seems to end up where he needs to be right when he needs to be there.
  19. I’m saying there is nothing in the text that says Ishy couldn’t manifest in Liandrin’s dreams the way he did Rand, Mat and Perrin’s. In fact, the text rather clearly suggests he could.
  20. So you have circumstantial evidence at best. Nothing textual.
  21. Find me any reference to this in the books. You could be right, but I don’t think so.
  22. No one looked like they were being forced. All I’m saying is that we have next to no information about how this event came to pass. We only know that it happened. Perhaps Elaida convinced each of the Houses that this was their best play.
  23. Because your point has no validity. Ishy is in people’s dreams from the beginning of the series.
