I'm really sorry that he left, whatever the reason, because he was the best of the lot that I've seen so far. He's made me much more sympathetic towards the character than I ever was to Book Mat.

Did anyone else pick up that Perin seems to be yearning for Egwene? Maybe he only married Laila to try and get over Egwene, who's his best friend's girl? Once Laila realises she isn't number one with her hubby, she turns to the Dark?

Also, is Mat gay? I'm going to try and watch the show again tonight, but I'm sure at one stage he said something to Rand or Egwene which indicates he yearns for Perin.

It's built into our DNA, so there's no getting around some things, like boards for certain groups of people who only appear later on in the book series. Not sure what all's going to happen in the tv show ... lol
