Wifi speculates that Nolder died because Darthe is a wolf and thinks Nolder might be the real cop.

 

Pretty straight-forward stuff, naive though it may be.

That makes sense to me.  I thought they were saying Nol was asked who he would cop, doc, and vig and he said me hally and kat and then they were actually using that to case me.

I'm ISO'ing some of Kat's Town games as well as the scum ones you linked, and I don't see any major corrolation between scum game and this based on tone. Hally mentions early D1 that Kat is happy, that seems legit at least until later. I'm also not AS concerned about the sheeping thing since I had doubts about Believer myself and was torn between them D1.

 

I do think the diversion away from Hellian and JS looks bad given flips. There are a couple of o_0 wording choices ...

I mean I do the self-meta my scum game looks nothing like this shpiel often enough, and I can appreciate how frustrating it gets when I'm ridiculously obvious from my own POV and no one wants to put in the work to see it.

 

I actually did look at Darthe in Haunted Mansion before he ever said that. I'm not counting BM because that was a strong and ballsy scum game. In HM he was playing at limited capacity and never really fooled anyone. The big difference I noticed was that in that game he still tried to take charge, much like BM, it was just really out of sync with the state of the thread and made him look like at best a villager who was going to derail the game. What he's saying about his approach as a wolf still generally holds there.

 

The issue is that when players like myself talk self-meta, our town game is a massive investment that is incredibly challenging--in my case at least thus far impossible--to replicate, not to mention sometimes impractical. I feel validated in the fact that I couldn't play like this as a wolf if I wanted to.

 

Darthe's case is something of the opposite. He's arguing that he would try a lot harder and be a lot more invested as a wolf. The whole "can't replicate this" clause goes out the window, and that's the whole merit of the claim.

 

So it rests on the much more difficult question of would Darthe intentionally piss away a scum rand on the gambit that players will be looking for the exact opposite approach based on recent experience in Black Metal Mafia?

Darthe and Wifi arrived quick, Tiink shows up a bit later.

 

Darthe didn't choose and went to Stedding at random.

 

Tiink was out and forgot to choose.

 

Wifi says if she'd known how close the trains were she'd have voted Darthe and let it go random.

 

Darthe starts talking pretty early about how he's being read scum for the wrong reasons, would be a force in the game and wrecking town if he'd randed scum rather than somewhat low effort.  Says to look out for wolves trying to lynch him because his role is going to be a threat to them if he survives too long.  Words it a little more politely? maybe than I'm presenting it here.  Wifi's engaged asking a lot of Wifi-esque questions.  They both take off before I'm really able to engage, long Shad monologue to end the night.
