payback....

It's not going to work - unless you can get the Poll to make a voting statement in the poll thread. People are voting without sayin they're voting. It's going to kill all those ISOs and re-reads.

I do some of my best work at night....

I bet if I got lynched in here I would still flip scum.

Magic 8-ball says "yes"

I thought it was 50/50 you were the seer last game. Shame.

Yeah there needs to be something documented ITT for votes cast for the sake of both player/moderator sanity and game integrity

And if in thread votes are god, without something tying poll votes / thread votes, the poll is just a "potentially extremely inaccurate vote count" we can add to games

But if we can tie them together with the magic of COMPUTERS

Funny thing is that I think you got that off of my inadvertent seer-like post. I didn't even read how unsubtle it looked until Darthe quoted after I died.

Problem is polls don't really leave a permanent enough record.  Would probably be relatively easy for someone to write a script to automate vote counts as long as people only used accepted syntax.

Wouldnt it be easier to have the poll lock once the 6 votes are reached then have to worry about the poll connecting to posts in thread?

Do the other sites with auto VC have an archive of the changes or do the MODS just do a VC every so often?

If the latter then it would just be the same. every so often and then as DL approached or someone got close to lynch then more often.

This would require custom programming

I think the idea is if custom programming is possible, why not do all our voting from polls and just program a vote receipt when someone does vote

I guess it would. I was just wondering if that was simpler to achieve than the latter.
