Cory Caboose Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I think that is the most solveable part. You just set a standard that once a lynch occurs the first to see it should bold and declare it in the thread to make sure the mod sees it. FME, there are always going to be integrity issues if the game is being self-policed by the players Not of intention, but they will happen, as much as we'd like to believe they wouldn't
Ithillian Turambar Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 Calder is stealth voting BFG btw *dobs him in* [unvote][v]Calder[/v]
Cory Caboose Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 So if it knows darthe cast a vote and what darthe selected then really all we need is to connect that to darthe making a post in the poll thread that has the [ v ] ____1# [/ v ] tags. And that the ____1# matches the ____1# inside said tags. Can we do this? Would be optimal if that was programmable No more ITT voting, but voting in a poll or moving your vote in a poll causes a post to be generated or something

Im already worried that ill I'll forget to update this thing or something or as a mod post a lynch off of errant data
Turin Turambar Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 [unvote] [v] Calder[/v] Sheeps Ithi *waits for votes to drop on me*

You post ITT, it auto updates the poll.

But, if the expectation is that cheating in a game will have ban level consequences than the motivation to cheat would be embarrassingly low.
Ithillian Turambar Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 It's good to see competing trains. Shad stealth voting. it's a whole new tactic lol
Cory Caboose Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I was going the ither way. You post ITT, it auto updates the poll. Either way It might be more reliable to have it originate from the poll, because you'll have issues with syncing vote tags because people don't necessarily write out the entire name of the person they are voting and you don't want a mispelled or shortened vote to cause mod intervention problems

I'm not even saying people would intentionally cheat, it might very well be incidental
Ithillian Turambar Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 Well, I'll let your people talk to their people - because from here it's probably technical stuff. But I'm glad the Theory kind of works. Thanks :)

Shad_ Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 How will the scum team push to lynch the town who randomly removes his opening joke vote if he doesn't have to declare it in the thread?
Cory Caboose Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Valid point! It's caused problems on MU before, as you need to spell out the exact name of whoever you are voting, and in something like a sudden CFD finer points have been missed. Would be dumb if like, 5 people CFD'd dice near DL of a game but people wrote [v]dice[/v] instead of dicetosser1 and another wagon was lynched
Ithillian Turambar Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 payback.... It's not going to work - unless you can get the Poll to make a voting statement in the poll thread. People are voting without sayin they're voting. It's going to kill all those ISOs and re-reads.

I wonder if wolves will be annoyed they can't hide their votes in a WoT anymore :P

But you are supposed to declare it in the Thread. The Poll is just supposed to count your votes - not MAKE them.
Calder Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Stealth voting would add such amazing fights to threads.
