Cory Caboose Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 But unvotes and votes need to be in the game for vote progression and gaming. The problem with anything that requires self-policing is that people will forget and it might cause issues in-game if there's a disparity between polled votes and in thread votes. I'm all for figuring out someway to automate vote counts though :P
Zander? Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 OOH!! it seems to work. Let's CFD on Dice while he is asleep. LOL [unvote] [v] Dice [/v] seems legit [v] unvote [/v] [v] Dice [/v]
Cory Caboose Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 OOH!! it seems to work. Let's CFD on Dice while he is asleep. LOL [unvote] [v] Dice [/v] villagery
Ithillian Turambar Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 I' Wait is this actually working? I'm a genius. It's always been here, but people have only ever used it for ... polls. lol
Darthe Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 [V] cory [/v] he is already appealing to not die Your siggy is giving out subliminal messages imo. Only to non-mobile users
Calder Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 If the poll shows up in order of voting than I dont see the issue in needing to declare your vote. I would say it is expected but not required.
Ithillian Turambar Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 I think probably the Game Thread would have to be the Final Answer. But if everyone got used to doing this, it should remain correct, yes?
Turin Turambar Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 [V] cory [/v] he is already appealing to not die You have to actually vote in the poll Darthe. Then it counts and even puts them in vote order.
Calder Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 This would make catching up on threads that your behind so much easier.
Ithillian Turambar Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 If the poll shows up in order of voting than I dont see the issue in needing to declare your vote. I would say it is expected but not required. Game progression. It doesn't remember who was voting someone and when they changed their mind etc.
Darthe Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I' Wait is this actually working?I'm a genius. It's always been here, but people have only ever used it for ... polls. lol I wonder how hard (or easy) it would be to link vote tags to it so that this whole thing was automatic. A step further than that might be to hyperlink the ussrs post under their name when the vote is cast but thats prob a lot more work

Cory Caboose Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 If the poll shows up in order of voting than I dont see the issue in needing to declare your vote. I would say it is expected but not required. Problem is that it makes majority lynch missable for the moderators
Ithillian Turambar Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 I guess you would just choose in your rules which vote count was the Legit one - and then stick to it. With people only using the Game Thread to advise of their votes.

I would say it is expected but not required.Game progression. It doesn't remember who was voting someone and when they changed their mind etc. It would be a change to the game, but could be a good one. I mean players should be able to remember who was pushing what.
Cory Caboose Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Like I would prefer we not devolve into players having to manually screenshot poll counters and PM them to mods if there's a brief maj and people switch
Ithillian Turambar Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 I just figured it would save everyone from asking - can we have a vote count please?
Calder Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 If the poll shows up in order of voting than I dont see the issue in needing to declare your vote. I would say it is expected but not required. Problem is that it makes majority lynch missable for the moderators I think that is the most solveable part. You just set a standard that once a lynch occurs the first to see it should bold and declare it in the thread to make sure the mod sees it.
Turin Turambar Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 OOH!! it seems to work. Let's CFD on Dice while he is asleep. LOL [unvote] [v] Dice [/v] seems legit [v] unvote [/v] [v] Dice [/v] Need to change poll vote to match thread vote. there may be some lag or something tho. not sure. Did you switch on the poll?

Ithillian Turambar Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 I think the vote should definitely also be posted in the game thread. this is definitely a way to see an instant current count though. And everyone is a grown up and will see when someone posts past the lynch mark - at least I'd hope so.
Darthe Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 So if it knows darthe cast a vote and what darthe selected then really all we need is to connect that to darthe making a post in the poll thread that has the [ v ] ____1# [/ v ] tags. And that the ____1# matches the ____1# inside said tags.
