I felt better about Lily this phase than I did before, and looking back on her posts now I'm not entirely sure why.  Could be the peek tickling my interpretation of her tone a bit--I do believe it makes her significantly more likely to be town.  I feel like she's asking reasonable questions, taking a fair approach to try and figure people out--she certainly hasn't done anything to bother me recently.

 

Hallia would be in my wtl at this point without the claim.  The two games she was towniest in were the two in which she randed a PR (vig, doc).  In this one she's been extremely ho-hum while quite a few players are giving me town vibes.  I get the not wanting to draw the N1 kill as cop, but she has claimed now and nothing has changed.  I don't like her pointing to me and Eldrick and saying there has to be scum between us without bothering to analyze it.  I don't like that that and calling a position on a train scummy is all she's had to say since D1 besides claiming.  But she did claim cop, and no one countered.  I'm not going to ignore that.

 

I need to pick up where I left off ISOing Eldrick and try to read him with a level head.  Need to look at you and Sooh again, too.  Will I get around to all of that?  Maybe.  The player I'm feeling most comfortable with atp is Tab.

I gave how I felt about lily and Hally in my reads list. I mentioned the claim/peek, but gave my read despite the fact.

I legit didn't notice this post of Thane's...mayyyybe poorly worded? But at the same time, I also can see how this is a slip. He is down there with Lily for me.

 

 

 

A couple of reasons I'm not voting Eldrick:

1) Like I said before, every vote is a big deal in a game this small. We have time. That's why I asked about a deadline.

2) He can't always be scum, and I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt until I can't anymore. He'll get there soon enough if he's scum.

 

 

And that is so not the only way. Cop could view him.

Statements like this make me think the scum team is Eldrick and Thane again.

Zander said if he was killed to go after lily. Zander was indeed killed.

 

Does this mean that he was right about lily, and scum is trying to wifom us?

 

Or does it mean that Lily isn't scum and scum is trying to use the comment to get us to mislynch her.

 

It's weird that what he said actually happened. It's also weird that I'm the only one theorizing about why he was picked.

I believe the answer to the first one is because he thought lily was scum, and she was worried about him killing him cuz he was right. It makes the most sense.

 

Lily responded by saying if she was scum she wouldn't kill him. (Or something to that effect)

 

How likely is it that scum!lily says that and kills Zander anyway?

My wtl right now is from Eldrick, Lily, Hallia and Shad. I'm still thinking Sooh and Tab are town.

 

Eldrick: has said the most pingy things all game. Latest was post breaking down hallia and lily options. One line in particular about how fake claims only work at lylo. This is false in a game with no cop. Then you want to claim at the most opportune time. Even using the fact it isn't lylo as a cloak.

 

Lily: yesterday train. This must now be linked to hallia. Since lily is hallia's view. That half of her "current" reads list was cut and paste from the previous one Is troubling for me also.

 

Hallia: late switch in attempt to hammer Thane (dead townie). If Lily is town then it means very little but if lily is mafia then it means she is pretty much confirmed as Lily's partner.

 

Shad: I am a bit concerned about his back and forth irt to Eldrick. Also that he has ramped up during the night. I know he likes to be mafia and likes to win. This is a bit of tinfoil.

 

I'm gonna be out mIst of the day. I will try to do some reading later.

You say so many things that ping me that I'm starting to believe it's just you.

 

I dunno.  I didn't pay a lick of attention to you in GnD post-D0, so my only experience with your town game is the two we played in together where you got lynched D1 and D0 respectively.

 

Like this whole business of figuring out why Zander got night killed.  He was pretty universally town read, so it wasn't a strange choice.  More often than not the player who pops in trying to explain the night kill is the player who dialed it in in the first place.  So it pings me when you do it.  But the way you're doing it feels more like digging for clues where we're not realistically going to find any.

 

Zander said he'd peek Turin if he was the cop.  Maybe he was killed to protect scum!Turin.  Maybe he was killed to make town!Turin look bad.  Maybe scum thought he was a cop.  Maybe he died because his reads were too good.  Maybe he died because his reads were garbage.  Maybe he was just too town to ever be mislynched and scum wanted to get rid of him.  It's complete WIFOM.  It's useless information.

 

But you aren't even mentioning Turin.  You're confusing him with Lily.  And you aren't trying to direct traffic in that regard.  You're just expressing confusion.  That's not how I expect scum to go about the generically scummy thing you are doing.  If you are scum, then if Turin's town you would use this to shade him and if Turin's your team mate you never bring it up in the first place.  It seems way less likely to me that you do this.

 

Or like your reason for voting Sooh on D1.  It was generically scummy.  Really, really scummy from my experience.  But iirc you didn't take too much heat for it at the time, and you still backed off of the vote when Tab confirmed that Sooh (and the majority of people who play Mafia, imo) doesn't make a point to unvote a joke before finding a serious suspect.  Why would town suss someone for the reason you brought up?  Beats me.  But if that's your shtick as scum, 9/10 times you're going to roll with it.  You asked other players for input and then reevaluated and backed off.  Again, I find the reason scummy but the way you went about applying it more likely to come from town.

 

Basically if you are scum you're doing a lot of derpy obvscum things and yet twisting each of them to project yourself as a confused/frustrated townie--the AtE moreso than anything.  And that just doesn't make sense.  If you are scum aware enough to manipulate these situations, you should be aware enough to not get yourself into them in the first place.

 

I've thought about your slot a lot tonight and I'm going to [unvote].

 

But I'm not sure where to go from there.  If the claim and peek result are legit, that leaves Turin and Sooh?  I certainly need to reevaluate both of them.  I don't like challenging an uncountered cop claim, even if Hallia looks bad otherwise.  I don't know that I would have seriously considered a GF if Turin hadn't suggested it was possible, because this is such a small game.  Has anyone else been in a 9-player game with a Godfather?

I remember beginning of N1 Zander saying "If I die tonight, lynch lily." and lily's response that she wouldn't kill him if she was scum. And he died. I was mentioning the WIFOM that created. No clue how to deal with it.

D1 trains - depends entirely on whether it was v/v or v/w. Assuming Hallia's peek is true (I'm excluding a wolf Hallia clearing a villager Lily because that makes no sense) then there's really no reason why the wolves would gather on one train. They could spread out to create more wifom.

 

Day One

Thane (4) - Turin, Sooh, Lily, Tab, Eldrick

Lily (4) - Hallia, Zander, Shad, Thane

If the mafia were split one on each train, there is only one person left on my train who could be scum. I don't know what that means. A big fat nothing?

If that is the case then it's Shad and one of the people on Thane's train. In order to find out who I'd have to go back and look more closely at Turin/Tab/Eldrick, because neither have really been above my nulls. I had Taborline null to town, but I'm not sure about that one. I feel like she was sort of skating by on D1 and didn't attract much attention. Eldrick was my lowest on D1, but I feel like if Shad is scum, Eldrick probably isn't due to their discussion earlier. I can't see those two go into epic bussing battle like that. 

 

If the trains were v/w and Hallia either is a wolf with Lily (unlikely IMO) or Lily is GF, then both wolves are probably on Thane, but train analysis is really not my strong suit, nor goes it hardly ever above wifom level.

 

Reads on Hallia and Lily when the claim is exempt will leave me where a couple of others have said. Unsure about Lily, willing to lynch Hallia. Now lynching a cop claim is probably a bad idea since nobody have countered. I'm sure scum will take care of clearing that up for us.

 

Thoughts on Shad/Eldrick: IMO it's either v/w or v/v. I'm struggling a bit with figuring out who are wolves if that interaction is v/v, and due to previous reads I'm leaning Eldrick w. I still have to go back and reread though, because I haven't taken the time to do that since this Day started. 

 

The rest will have to wait until after work today I think.

Even if lily is town, there isn't a reason both scum couldn'the be on thane. He was generally read as scummy and an easy enough mislynch to both be on.

 

Updated reads in no particular order:

 

As I said before I've got the sense that shad is town from our exchange. He's actually my strongest read atp because of it.

 

Turin hasn't done anything that would make me think he's scum. Not counting the misunderstanding at the beginning. Tentative town for lack of a reason to think he's scum. As I said before I like the progression in his reads. It's easy as scum to not change reads much and just keep the same reasons. He's not doing that.

 

Tab also tentative town because she hasn't done anything bad. She's low on the list though, for not putting in as much effort as others.

 

I want to see more from sooh. I haven't been able to move her higher than null this game. She's in my wtl by simple fact of poe.

 

When I was deciding between Thane and Lily, I checked her ISO and didn't see anything new that made me think she's scum. Her read changes on thane read to me as either confused townie or teammate that can't decide how to read their teammate. Thane being town puts that as confused townie. She has been going after Hally for the same reason I have, and it helps when someone sees the same thing I do. Feeling rather strongly that she's town atp.

 

I haven't liked Hally's game. I didn't like how she listed off reasons to say I'm town and then "joined me" on lily'sound train. I didn't like how she gave a reason for voting lily that wasn't consistent with events of the game (unvote hadn't happened yet). I didn't like her vote after the hammer. But she's the uncc'd cop, and I'm not lynching her today. If scum doesn't resolve her, then I will come back to her.
