I feel like I've been pushing my suspects and getting my thoughts & theories out on the thread. Is it my suspects you don't like, or my theories....or both?

 

I've got you as solid town, so it's on me to convince you I'm a villager. Tell me specifically what you don't like.

 

It's not that you did something that pinged me specifically. It's just that you're not coming off as transparent as you usually do when you roll town and due to my other reads, which I feel more strongly about..... it puts you in the POE.

 

Looking at your ISO this is a sum up of what you've done:

 

 

 

- Darthe N0 town peek view on page 3. 

- You mentioned early on that Lee could be scum (not sure from the context if it's a joke or not). Also you didn't understand why she was cranky at you considering you'd hardly interacted.

- You agreed with Darthe's read list, but say that you don't agree on a town read on Wombat and that you're gonna expand why with some quotes.

- You nudge at Cass for her FoS on Darthe for the seer cover thing.

- You point out that you can't decide about Cory cause of him being relatively quiet and less hands on when the game started. I recall Cory doing this in the last game I played with him as well. I don't think it's really that new. He has been trying to tone down his initial involvement in the game and try to keep the brow beating to a minimum. I think it's null for him, personally. So I kinda expect you to be wary in general, but the reason you pointed is eh.

- You post the Wombat quotes you were referring to earlier. You nudge Wombat about not getting his progression on his Kaylee read. You point out that you think Kaylee is town. I'm not sure I get the confusion. For instance, you told Wombt that you don't get why he's prodding a town read. Or alternatively why he would disagree with a player for town reading his town read. All these things are quite possible. A town read can trend down by starting to ping. And then tend back up if they start making townie observations again. The read isn't set in stone. And scum, who know who town are, will give town reads for half assed reasons and it's perfectly legitimate to point it out if you think X person is giving Y person a town read for BS reasons. It doesn't matter if you are town reading Y yourself. 

- More back and forth with Cory about his tells.

- You prod Sooh for OMGUS-ing Cory, when she was telling him that he's being condescending and she doesn't like it.

- Another prod at Sooh for doing the "If I was a wolf, would I really do X".

- You point out that Wombat is a wolf lean.

- You FoS Cass for misrepping Cory, when she asks him to expand on the reasons to her reads.

- You said you didn't think Cass and Sooh would be w/w or v/v. I didn't really understand this line of thought, so if you could expand on that, it would help. I really don't understand how you landed on that conclusion. You even add that if sooh flips town, Cass would be in the hot seat under your consideration. Again, I don't get why.

- Then you share your JN story as a reason why AtE shouldn't be trusted. I agree that it shouldn't be btw. If you think someone is scummy, flipping out shouldn't get them off the hook. Anyways, you say you're not voting yet because you could be persuaded to go either Cass or Wombat. 

- You ask Cass what her top 3 scum reads are.

- You give Lee some initial townie points for defending her peek, dice.

- When given a list of names (Darthe, Clov, Verbal, AJ, Cory, Wombat) and asked to sort them.... you repeat orange on wombat, yellow on cory.... and the rest various townie ranges. I find this surprising cause up until now (barring me missing it in the ISO).... i haven't really seen you mention Clov or AJ once. Where did the town read come from?

- Later on you quote Lee's read list and say you really like it but that Clov should be higher because he went at Cory a bit. Personally I don't think that should get Clov any points. I don't doubt for a second that Clov would do that as a wolf. Also you saying that you mindmelded with Clov and that you don't usually mindmeld with scum.... that's a really bad reason to town read someone IMO. 

- You take off and leave a vote on Sooh. You say you went this direction mostly due to the emotional scarring from the JN game. I think it's a bogus reason personally. You spent a hell of a lot more time going after Wombat and to a lesser degree Cass. So I kinda find it odd that you ended up going with Sooh.  I know that you said that she was in your WTL.... but I can't help but feel that you went with the flow rather than who I felt you felt most strongly about, ie Wombat. You also add that seeing Sooh's flip should basically tell you Cass' alignment which I still don't get. 

- You show up today and vote Cass, based on the theory that she and Sooh couldn't be w/w or v/v. I think I get the not being w/w but I don't understand why they couldn't be v/v. We literally had the entire game on Sooh's train. Clearly she was coming across scummy, bar the scum team that took her for a ride. And considering how much you've mentioned Wombat... I don't understand why you end up not pushing him D1 and now D2 (even though I don't really agree with your FoS). Makes me wonder if you could be potentially distancing here.

 

 

 

TLDR

 

I just don't know. You nudged Wombat. But you're not actively perusing him bar saying a couple of times that he's in your WTL and a light scum lean. And you only really mostly touched his read progression on Kaylee.... which is pretty thin. You tie Sooh's flip with Cass and now you're pushing her for it. Even though I personally feel that Cass' content has vastly improved. You don't really seem to address that at all, btw. You quoted one post of hers where you made this connection between her and Sooh and that was that. That's not really what I'm used to seeing from you. Your cases usually are a lot more compelling and have more meat to them. You gave AJ and clov a town lean, even though you never say why. And the rest of the players you don't really mention at all. You usually have a lot of ooomph to your scumhunting. A lot more energy, conviction, drive. I just don't really see it here. It feels almost lazy.

Going through everyone's votes and interactions with Sooh in order of votes. Was going to do one big post with links, comparing everyone but it's getting too cumbersome so splitting it up. TLDR: Hydra head initially split, deferred to Nyn. Not sure what that means, but reasons stated ITT for voting and keeping vote til EoD make sense. Still happy with this slot as ?Town for now.

This is the direction the pressure needs to go imo. Halli is gonna defer to me on this atm.

 

Second vote on Sooh (after Darthe). Made early in the game. Moved Hally's vote off Clov to vote here. 

The only thing that really stands out right now is the complete opposite approach of the two heads of the hydra. Not sure if that's a thing yet or not. 

 

Before the vote, Nyn mentions and explains not liking Sooh's question to Clov and not liking her waiting to hear AJ out before placing her vote, so the idea of pressure there makes sense for now. Hally defends Sooh strongly and then defers to Nyn. 

Reasons for deferring are that Hally doesn't Sooh well enough/was not as aware of Sooh's experience/ability. Not sure how I feel about that, but Hally reads as aggressive and snippish in her stance during her defence of Sooh and I'm willing to take that for TownHally right now.

 

After the vote Nyn mentions not liking Sooh's defence/believing Sooh could play differently as scum, being bothered by Sooh's scum leans, Sooh feeling all kinds of wrong and Sooh still being her top choice for lynch. Feels appropriate enough for the vote to have stayed. Hally mentions not liking Sooh's defence

Clov came in and made a joke about the scum team's identity, naming three players that haven't posted yet. You asked him if that was a soulread and then asked if it was a aussie theme. The whole post sounded fake to me and I did not care for it.

 

Darthe's opinion of how you usually play means squat to me. Other than mentoring you in a game, I don't think we've played together before so my focus is on your play in THIS game. And OMGUS FoSing me for allegedly sheeping Darthe (of all people! lol) is not making you look any better in my eyes. I also find it interesting that I'm getting FoSed but Darthe isn't even though, under your consideration, your content so far doesn't warrant it.

Im gonna talk this out with Halli. Clov is far from being my top choice for a lynch at the moment.

On my cell right now but Sooh responding that she was waiting to hear AJ out before mentioning Darthe is a BS response. So instead of bringing up thoughts and concerns of her own in regards to him characterising her town meta as very townie she lays back and waits for AJ's impending push on him????

However, if you imagine I'm a wolf, would I not do the most to keep posting the way I have been posting every game up until now? Keep my town game as it were? It would be incredibly stupid of me I think to change my game so much as a first time wolf. 

 

It's a matter of experience. Someone with little to no experience at being scum could very easily act differently. Why? because he/she knows who's town and who's scum and that affects the way a person plays and come across. It takes a while to manage to emulate your own town game. So yeah... I could see you playing differently as scum. And I don't really care for this defense at all.

As of right now I lean as follows:

 

Town: 

Wombat - Good insight. 

Kaylee - Good line of questioning. Observant. 

Clov - Soulread mainly. May be way off.

AJ - I like his posts so far, though calling you town makes me scared after the last game when you had me completely duped.

 

Light town:

Cory - I do like most of your play. Your secret note to AJ pinged me though. Yes, I read it. 

Tress - Just a hair above null at the moment.

Cass - I like her reasoning.

Well Halli and I are planning to sit down and talk about it, especially since we seem to disagree about Clov at this point. She's heavily suspicious of him and I'm not sure if it's necessarily warranted. So we have to talk. My conflict with him is that he always boasts on how well he reads me. So I would expect him, as a wolf, to buddy me vs prod me. Because prodding me is a lot more likely to catch my attention. But Clov is tricksy.... so you never know. Either way I want to see more from him. 

 

YOLO guess with the info so far? Sooh and Lee could very well be scum. Sooh for the reasons I pointed out. She's my top choice for today's lynch and I don't see myself going anywhere else today (unless something uber significant happens). Lee...I didn't have an issue with her at first... but the way she interacted with me when I engaged her felt a bit weird. She kept answering me and Verbal with jokes and it was never a serious answer. It felt a little bit forced and maybe even a bit dismissive.... didn't really like it. With that said, she didn't really have much in the sense of content and I usually do read her better after we're deeper into the game. So subject to change.

 

 

People I feel are prolly town: You (town peek), Kaylee, Darthe. 

 

 

The rest pretty much fall in the null region in various degrees. I haven't seen anything from Tress that bugs me and I'm looking forward to see her thoughts to develop my read on her further. Cass felt genuine in her responses to me. I'm not getting a bad vibe from her right now. And frankly? After mentoring her as scum I find it a bit hard to believe that she would attempt a too scummy to be scum read list. Maybe I'm underestimating her but I think that her anxiety levels as scum are still extremely high and I wouldn't expect her to attempt this. So unsure but maybe light town lean. Dice needs to post more. I can't tell much from him making a handful of posts. But him being suspicious of AJ and Sooh is pretty akin to my own impression.... so gonna have to see what he brings to the table. Verbal and Wombat I haven't decided on yet (but I will as soon as I have more to work with). And AJ is..... AJ. I'm always suspicious of him. His posts were fine on the surface but as I mentioned before, I think the whole seer cover talk can serve as a  great way for scum to get townie credit without doing much. So I can't help but wonder if his comments in the matter are really done for the town's best interest or him just trying to look townie. Kinda flip flopping on him... but he's also a player that I usually can read a bit better later in the game..... so keeping an eye but he's not really someone I'd want to lynch today.

The bold makes this seem more likely to be legit. Unless I've misinterpreted or he's been lying about not liking AtE, I don't think Cory deliberately adds the bold. Someone with TownCory meta correct me if I'm wrong, please.

 

I think you're investing there more than you should. Cory would probably post something like that as either alignment - and there's the fact he legitimately dislikes playing as a wolf and would feel bad about killing Sooh regardless imo.

That's fair enough. I realize I haven't been super involved in this game yet but I think part of that is me beginning to dread the potential outcome and part of it is my schedule and how that works with the DLs and the thread being closed at Night with the DL falling at 6pm in my timezone. That's normally when I can be most present because I'm home from work for the evening.
