Hi. New member that is starting over Wheel of Time series

Hi new member from South Dakota.

 

I havent read the Wheel of Time books 1-6 since I was in high school back in the mid late 1990s.

 

Earlier today I bought Book 12 in hardcover for just 3 bucks at the Dollar General Store.

 

I cant believe theres Book 14.

 

I have a long ways to go to even try to read the last 3 books.

 

How is Book 12 anyway?

What part of South Dakota are you from?  I lived in Rapid City for about a year many, many years ago and have fond memories of visits to Mount Rushmore and that little town we'd drive through en route to Mt. Rushmore, Keystone. 

 

Anyway, I'd like to encourage you to look around. We do have the book discussion forums where you will definitely find spoilers (unless you stay in threads geared only to those books you've already read).  We also have social groups and role playing groups.  The social groups are great place to hang out where you won't have to worry as much about spoilers.  I'm a member of the White Tower and the Band of the Red Hand.  I'd love to see you drop by both groups!

Salutations! Books 12-14 were all good ones in my opinion.

 

If you're still working on finishing it you should be careful of possible spoilers when browsing around the discussion boards.

 

In addition to the discussion boards we have the social groups which can be a great way for you to meet and get to know some of the people around the site. Each group has their own draw and all of them have some great members (Many of us are members of multiple groups). If any of the groups appeal to you then feel free to apply for as many of them as you'd like. If you have any questions about The Band of the Red Hand, home of music, travel, drinks & food, I should be able to answer them (I'm the Band's Exececutive Officer). If you have any questions about The Black Tower, home of Spam and Madness, I should also be able to answer those (I'm Logain, leader of the light faction). Other than those two groups I can't help you however just post here or in their general board and I'm sure their members will be more than happy to help answer your questions about their group. From my experiance, many of the groups seem to have a little RP mixed in however do not mainly focus on it.

 

Finally we have the RP groups which, though I have little to no knowledge of, is something many find fun and participate in. If you plan on participating in RP I believe they have a main board you can post any questions to. If not maybe someone else who participates in the RP boards can answer them here.

Book 12 is good. Many people think it's one of the best. I disagree but it's still really good.

13 and 14 are just awesome, though.

All the Social Groups have their own structure that distinguish them. If you want to dive in the Social Groups a good strategy is to peek in and participate a bit in all of them (or in the ones that caught your attention) and then join then ones that you like the most.

 

Personal suggestion: visit The Band of the Red Hand (Social Group). We need more new recruits to do all the washing. It usually goes in this order: we offer you drinks, food, music and games; you realize how awesome is the Band and decide to join; then the fun ends for you and beggins for us; you end up regretting your decission but you can't escape
