So the queues would be basic/standard and advanced?

No, there would be 1 queue, and mods could run whatever they want - no more than 2 games running at any given time.  They would just label their game appropriately, and if the balance sucked big time, I might not let them mod Advanced anymore......

And what if only Advanced games are running?

Or two, I guess.

I don't think doing away with the old council is a bad idea. I think most Mods would have someone else eyeball their set up either way.

And those who don't, if their game is terrible, then they can just receive endless ridicule

I actually like the separated queues since some people shy away since some players ONLY like basic type games and some players ONLY like bigger, role-madnessy games and it was cool that both platforms were being respected

Standard seems very similar to Basic, those queues could probably be combined since the Basic queue is smaller than the Advanced queue anyway

This is basically how the system works on other forums AFAICT

Ok, but I don't want 4 games at once anymore.  What about 1 of each category?

So 1 basic/standard and 1 advanced at a time?

That works.

Unless the player pool has grown considerably in recent months, I think the would be best to ensure games fill and run to help keep the queue clutter down a bit.

It does seem unnecessary for players who have run multiple games to continue submitting to a council, but traditions are traditions.

To be perfectly honest I would prefer players new to modding to have their games checked in general, but I'd just have a "check with an experienced player/moderator" type policy than a council.

Down with big brother?

IDK, my opinions probably aren't great, but take them as you will

No, your opinions are good.  My only concern is that "check with an experienced player/moderator" could end up being somebody like Darthe.  We all know what would happen as a result, heh.

Firing shots at Darthe aside, that is the only piece that concerns me, but I guess it isn't any worse than it is now.....

Or keep approved people to check, but add a few more names so there are more options.

For new mods, not experienced ones.

I agree.

Wait, is this not how things were running previously?

I need to stop drinking

it was 2/2, but nobody was starting up games fast enough.

As I was catching up I was gonna say, yeah this.

When we were talking about it before most people seemed in favor of two queues still, one for Advanced and one that would be shared between Basic and Standard.

I like this idea as I'm still new at running games and like to have them balanced.
