Fwiw, while Wombat used to be really good at faking tone, he's had some rough scum games lately, where he got caught a bit easier than I would expect

 

His tone HAS been good at times this game, and the things that looked off to me DO have potential explanation behind them, but he could also be back on top of his GOAT status as scum so meh

Yeah. It was actually a replace in post. Good memory. Someone said scum tend to do page by page replace in posts more than Town. I thought I was scum caught for the wrong reason but they were right.

 

In this case, I'm intentionally doing it for a number of reasons. The first has to do with a game I was almost mislynched in just because I've always been okay riding that line between Town and Scum. The only reason I was almost mislynched had to do with POE and I couldn't go back and say "but look how Town I was!" So in this game, since some of the people in this player base are always leery of me due to gambits and whatnot, I decided to try to be as transparent as possible in my catch up posts. Plus, my Yates guarantee not to gambit, I thought, should help with the tinfoil a bit. I think Des hit the nail on the head when he said that by hard claiming no gambits I'm removing the best tool I have in the toolbox as scum. I expect to be held to that promise. If I ever say "jk - gambit!" go ahead and lynch me. Finally, I hadn't done one of these SINCE that game. I wanted to see if I could make it useful while also making my thought process transparent. It's actually been kind of nice as a reference point for what was going on in my head during critical parts in the game. Kind of like a Cliffs Notes version of tone and feel without rereading the thread and with more context than a simple ISO.

 

With all of that said? I probably wont be doing it again. It's way too much work. But it's been informative.

Who's catch-up notes post are you talking about?  I don't think I did one, so are you talking about the one Pralaya did?

 

He's talking about mine. I told someone in a game we were in together recently that page by page catch up posts were called out as a scum tell on another site. Seemed weird at the time but they were right on me.

Actually that's not the case at all- he still thinks Csarmi is scum, who seems much more likely to be town now imo, and in fact his obstinateness in pushing Csarmi as scum is one of the few things I think DOES stand out about Clov

 

Don't even remember many of his other hard reads but it's def not a mindmeld situation for me- I just don't think he's nearly as wolfy as other candidates today, yet Tommy and Nyn (and AJ before) keep acting like he is. Clov DOES have good tone imo, but I'm not going to clear him for that cause I know he's top tier.

 

So he's not a townread for me per se, I just think there are MUCH scummier lynch choices today.

My concern is that Thane's play is discontonous due to being away on the weekend. Hard to read that way this early.
