Obviously things vary game to game - but most important for Town is securing a lynch. I know in this case my vote isn't even needed, but still.

It's better than the 'I thought Len was Town, so I voted [other player] instead.' cop out sorta thing if he does actually flip town here. Cheap way to keep your hands clean, potentially.

Again with backing people into a rock and a hard place. Why vote for someone that you think is town just to be on the lynch? Isn't the whole point to vote for who you think is scum?

Also, you are severely mistaken if you think that anyone/everyone who isn't on his lynch will keep their hands kept clean. Regardless of his flip, the people off the wagon will be looked at just as, if not more severely, than the people who are on it.

Who wants to CFD onto a random wagon

I have the problem that the two people that look scummiest to me are also people who have soft claimed town PR and hard claimed town PR. Is issue.

AJ  for me the difference is that lenlo came in later and SAID he was going to try to be more involved in this game, had tommy trying to get his attention as well but has not shown back up. That makes me marginally more happy about len being a lynch but i still think Arsis is the biggest scumtell this game. hence my vote

Someone give me a brief overview.  Also based on this pages alone [v] bfg [/v]

THIS is a better post.

I want to reread BFG as well, not sure that I like her vote on Len.

I do agree with you here.

Well... the bodyguard claim is certainly an easy one to make. But the flavor seems good, so it would be a mod provided fake claim if it's not real, meaning there's no bodyguard, meaning there's probably a doc, which would be good for me.

Let's see what happens tonight. If anyone wants to watch me, that's probably a good idea.

I'm actually pretty concerned why you're taking such a hard stance FOR Darthe in this situation. Is there something that I missed that should make you think that he shouldn't be lynched?

Even though that post was by Key, I speak for her when I say that you are not understanding the intent of our posts if this is what you are taking away from those posts. We want to know how you arrived at your read and stated opinion on Darthe. That has nothing to do one way or another on our opinion on the slot - which happens to be null fwiw. Frankly, I remain confused as to how you have such a strong opinion on someone you have characterized as a non poster.

I don't necessarily think Darthe's post number is relevant to his alignment or makes him a bad lynch.

IT'S WHAT HE POSTED WHEN HE DID AND HAS NOT CONTRIBUTED SINCE.

Anyway - Key I'm going to basically handle you as suspect until proven innocent because I feel like of all players this game, you'd be able to keep up that front to get you to end game. If anything, I think it kind of speaks to your ability to play well.

Your point on Krak is kinda meh. Obviously you wouldn't know how he would post in the future, but that's kind of the point. As the game progresses I look back for things like that. It goes in hand with doing wagon analysis after flips, etc.

AJ - so his ridiculous posts at the very beginning of the game where he has little to no interaction with anyone really do it that much for you? I get that the fact that he hasn't posted since could make you annoyed, but how does that have anything to do with the game? It is speculation at best. When we have PLENTY of other information to go on from today, why choose something SO TINY to focus on? Maybe he was annoyed still at the Avengers game and getting attacked after it. Maybe he wasn't. It shows NOTHING about his alignment this game, so what does that get us if we lynch him today?

You're downplaying any kind of suspicion on him, which I think is kinda bad. Looks a bit like TMI or w/w posturing by throwing mud at those who are suspect of him for how he posted.

To me, his response to Tom's vote looked forced. Like he was trying to downplay it by referring to a past game without really questioning Tom on it whatsoever. Looked a bit to me like he might've been aware that Tom was already town and therefore didn't want to get into it with him.

Also re: INFO - I get where this comes from but it's sort of a simple way to sound protown imo. In a way, this establishes precedent for people to just vanish when they catch heat and if they're forgotten about then they survive because townies tend to lose focus.

Because it doesn't make sense to me that people would try to lynch someone who has only have a tiny number of posts at the beginning of the game. Like, what are you expecting to get out of it? I also don't think that what he said was at all alignment indicative.

Re: downplaying any suspicion - it's my opinion that there is not a reason to be looking into him for a couple posts at the beginning of the game. How else should I then look at others who I think are digging into it way more than necessary? It looks like a cheap, easy way to get attention off themselves and to lynch someone who isn't around.

As for TMI/throwing mud - how am I supposed to defend against those? These can literally be used as an argument against anyone. How you think of someone is going to color your view of what they are saying. Any townie that defends someone could easily have the "TMI" suspicion over them if the person they are defending flips town. Any townie who defends someone who then turns up scum is going to look scummy and look like they were trying to "throw mud" or cast suspicion on others.

Your last point - well, it's in town's best interest to have more info. How else does one suggest that but to have it look protown? Giving me a rock and a hard place with that one.

As far as precedent - not the same situation. Anyone else will have posted more and been involved more in the game, meaning there is still something to go on as far as their posts. Them slipping away will looking damning itself. My whole point with darthe was that it was at the very beginning of the game with little interaction. There was little heat, little discussion, little involvement.

Again, I think the number of posts and the timing in which they were posted are irrelevant. If someone posts something scummy, would you just dismiss it under those circumstances? I don't think so. You thinking they aren't alignment indicative is a difference in our opinions. I think they looked scummy. You disagree. Not much else I can say there.

The way you view it is really dependent on the person. I can agree that some people who pushed him could be seen as opportunistic (Vos prior to his claim/Thane). However, I've been fairly consistent with my stance on Darthe. I stated as much when I came into the game after his series of posts and haven't really let it go to the wayside as things progressed. Him being absent reinforced this for me.

I don't really think it's a vastly different situation. Darthe did have ~some amount of pressure on him for how he entered the game. He's since said that he was booked all weekend, which is fine because I don't really have an interest in calling people liars over RL stuff, but still. To me it looked like he ghosted after several people started to express suspicion on him, early in the game or not.

The bottom line here is that attaining a lynch, any lynch, is more important than personal reads most of the time. I can say that I've personally consolidated on wagons when I wasn't a fan of them. Sometimes I was right about my initial read, sometimes I was wrong. It happens. Yes in general the point is to vote for the person you think is scum, but in the name of achieving a lynch it's better to have some sort of mod verified info. Especially D1. Also - I never said that I'm town reading Len. If you are referring to yourself here, then okay.

It goes both ways when it comes to the being on/off a lynch. It varies from person to person and case by case.
