One of the most important parts of "scumhunting" is having a solid town basing compiling of likely-townies and mechanically cleared townies guiding the direction and POEing potential Mafia. Towns that are scattered, have no focus and no solid foundation will always be taken advantage of.

I'm not just going to "decide" she is Mafia because she has votes on her - I am going to judge her based on the merits of her posts, narrative, tone and how she's handled her suspects and whether she has handled them with convinction.

You deciding that the only reason someone would try to infer another player's alignment is because w-w is rather simplistic and extremely counter-intuitive and counterproductive.

 

Townies who do not adjust their reads to new information are the worst kinds of townies. I thought Red was a good shot to be Mafia after 20 pages - we now have 53. I will adjust my reads with new information, especially considering my skimming to keep up inferred a great deal of actual gameplay went on in opposition for the first ~20 pages.

Anyway I don't usually like making lists until later in the game myself.

I feel locked into them and my reads often change rapidly from Day 1 to Day 2.

I've played enough games here to know how you play - trying to find Mafia and not lynching town is more important to me than how I am perceived. Get with the program.

 

I skim during work hours/when I am busy. It is not a preference, it is a compromise.

 

I am going to do what I do regardless of how you perceive it, but I appreciate your hard attempt at tying me to a Red flip.

Tress's character reveal is interesting but is null on alignment.  too much WIFOM surrounding the character imo.  lady Frey wasn't in on the plan

 I don't blame you for being wrong on this because that's the same thing I thought but upon looking up the character apparently she WAS in on the plan. So just so we're clear I'm not holding it against you but you're wrong here.

- Nol: for "playing fromt eh sidelines" as someone else said, and his dog pile onto my lynch after my reveal.  also, Nol generally doesn't tunnel on a person, he multi-takses in games iirc.  in this one, he's tunneling on me and putting all effort into getting me lynch and pressuring anyone who is even semi defending me.

1. I voted you before your reveal.
2. Actually I used to be really bad with tunneling, guess you don't remember. I think I've gotten a lot better but I still struggle not to get the tunnel vision. I'll give you that I'm tunneling here but I'm not going to apologize for it since I do think you're mafia. I'm just gonna make a mental note to curb that behavior tomorrow.

point 1 - the dog pile doesn't come from the vote Nol, it comes from when you amped up the pressure you were putting on me.  i've stated before pressure > vote.

 

point 2 - really o.0  huh, it didn't seem that way in the series.  but then i've only read the books once and that was before HBO started the series.  if this is the case  http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Roslin_Frey   i'll be damned, ur right.  that character claim imo is only a few steps below claiming Walder Frey himself, but if Tress is scum why not use the fake claims.  the WIFOM on this claim hurts my head right now.

 

point 3 - the last few games i've played with you about a year ago you had gotten much better at tunneling.  you'd still tunnel on people yes, just like i'd still bulldog.  but you'd learned to multi task and split the tunnel onto different people.  thats why this tunneling pings, because your not splitting your focus. 

 

 

One thing I'm really surprised about in the opposition to Red's lynch is everyone opposite seems to think she's town.
There's 5 teams of mafia that we know of, are the odds really in favor of her being town this game?

it doesn't say 5 mafia teams, it says 5 Mafia.  ie: theres 5 peopel who are aligned with the mafia.  he also says theres no toomfoolery and that this is an advanced game not an experimental.

@Everyone voting Red: Seriously? You're content parking your vote on the single train town has achieved today? Are every one of you that confident that she'll flip scum? Confident enough to risk essentially wasting D1 going after one target? Red already claimed. If she's scum, she's not making it to endgame. The first time a PR claims and is NK'ed that night, she'd pretty much be up on the chopping block. What part of "vettable claim" do yall not get?

Your forgetting alot though. 

1) She wasnt the only train. Mish/Tress was also pushed heavily and still is by some.

2) You cant guarantee she wont make it to end game. Its best to deal with it here and now. Its also entirely possible that shes lieing about her role and as long as the doc protects claimed PR's then shes vetted by your reasoning, even if she herself doesnt do a thing.

3) On the off chance she does flip town then she is the most informative lynch for the day at the cost of a relatively weak PR. The fact that its so weak is why its so easy to fake claim I might add.

 

But yeah honestly you might even not be able to see the sense behind some of Red's reads, cause well, a lot of times her reads WON'T make much sense when she's town lol. In fact, I don't have an easy way you can read her. My townread on her has more to do with the circumstances around her, how her train built and stuff. She got to the point of hammering fairly quick.

So you dont have a town read on posts, you just have bad reads on everyone elses votes on her? She got to the point of hammering at a decent pace yeah, yet she hasnt been hammered. Why not? Scum would easily be able to make some BS reason to vote her. Dont say that all the scum are on her train already btw, because no one in this game is stupid enough to put the entire team together on a single train on D1, they arnt. This is an experienced crew.

 

If thats all you have to defend Red with, then were done here. Liking you less and less Des.

I have been made aware that the intro is somewhat ambiguous as to whether this game has six factions, five of which are mafia and one which is town, or if it has two factions, one of which is a mafia with five members.

 

This game has a single five member mafia team.
