But even if he had, I don't see why it would matter that much.  In case you didn't notice, Despo's become rather fond of calling people "LOCK CLEAR."

I just ISO'd Despo and he did nothing of the sort.  So far, he has complimented Lewis' vote on me as pro-town and said that my hunches are usually good.

You're right, he didn't say it directly but that was how I interpreted the statement. He was saying that your hunches are usually good and that I am easy to spot as scum. Therefore he believes you to be town and me scum, but my problem is that I am unable to see how he came to this conclusion based on your previous posts.

Thanks for just 2 and a bit pages to read up after a (short) nights' sleep.

first thoughts:

- Interesting read between AJ and Wombat, for the moment i tend to follow AJ's reasoning more than Wombat's.

- some joking around, but that's normal on D1 (and for some players)

- not enough memes

- Sorry for the tooth Amega.. how'd it happen?

- would like to read a bit more from other people *nods*

I still say we auto lynch anyone who says lock clear...

for once, i agree with dice

Nose is running like there's no tomorrow, and my head is swimming.  Past time for the Nyquil.

Quick thoughts, hopefully I'll be less hazy in the morning.

I read Womby's vote on AJ as a gamestarter attempt - bold, little explanation, getting reactions.   Despo's sheeping the vote was blatant and looks to me like a push to help with the gamestarting, pretty clear he was after AJ's reaction to the train.  Willing to put both of them provisionally in the town pile for now.

AJ was doing OK for a while IMO in reaction, although I'm not fond of the way he mischaracterized what Despo said ("he indicated rather strongly that he thinks you are town") and then when called on it backtracked to "well that's how I interpreted it"...  Questionable.

Lewis appears to be making mountains out of molehills - first game here, and I'm sure he's not familiar with the general feel of our games.  Early D1 there really is little to go on, so most cases are trumped up or meta based - and since he doesn't know our metas, nitpicking is pretty much the way to go I suppose...  But I disagree with the way he's characterizing Wombat's play, especially picking on the FOS without a vote thing - that looked pretty much like a joke to me, and most everyone was very much still joking around.

Lewis was born LOCK CLEAR.

Actually, I was born LOCKLEAR...but that was before the operation.

What picture were you expecting?

Yknow, I've been saying LOCK CLEAR for a little while now, and you're the FIRST one to make this joke. Bravo man, bravo. You're my favorite new mafia player since the #Alliance invaded DM methinks

*clears throat*

Ahum, well, my boss let me go, and i've been able to follow a bit. I prefer my own coffee, Starbucks is way too expensive over here (though it's the only place the Mrs will have some coffee, no idea why).

@Lewis: No idea if Iceknight has a mentor. I know he's new, but this is my second game (and nobody volunteered to be my mentor) and i'm trying by myself. Maybe i'll outlive D1 this time

@Amega: i think my vote on Lewis needs to be Iceknight instead

Don't like this post. Doesn't really comment on the bigger stuff at the time, and he says he doesn't know if Ice has a mentor, but wasn't it already established well before this that Darthe was mentoring Ice? Makes me think Thane aint really paying close attention, is just coasting along...

Sorry if I worried you while I was away, but school's done and now I am here.

I wasn't too bothered by your original vote Womby, but since you feel the need to push the issue then do explain yourself. Legit hunch or gut check? I assumed the latter, but I don't like how you're playing this atm. I also think Despo looks very dirty here for the quick piggybacking and buddying. 'Womby's hunches are always good' - why would you trust him so easily and assume that he was correct?

##vote Despo

Where did I say I trusted him completely? I bandwagoned onto you for exactly the reasons I stated. When town, Wombat's hunches are very good. When you're scum, it's relatively easy to get you to squeal while you're on the hotplate.

Not only that, I'm really wondering how long it will take before people finally realize that bandwagoning on D1 is really not that big a deal. You have to get a lynch secured eventually anyways, and there's much less to go on than any other day. So who cares if I sheep someone on the second page or w/e? More voting activity is a good thing, meaning that bandwagoning onto targets quickly to help spread the pressure around D1 is a GOOD thing.

I felt like he was more buddying you by immediately agreeing with your 'hunch'

Feels like he already knows who you are, etc.

Again, where did I say I agreed with his hunch?

3.  Aren't you at all concerned that you are at the head of the longest lynch line on the board right now?  Even just a Wwwwwwwweensy bit?

Meh on the other points, but I'm not sure why you asked this. Why should someone feel nervous about being at the front of a train they feel is on scum? Doesn't really matter if it's the leading train or not. Now, if I voted for someone, and saw a big group of bandwagoners hop on without much resistance, I might get sketchy about the train then, since speedlynches fall on townies much more often (excluding cop guilty reveals, etc)

Yeah, you should work on that.

In Lenlo's defense, he actually has been getting a little bit better lately. Gets serious a little quicker, follows up on stuff better.

Oh man only 52 hours until deadline?

"Well, we gotta go with the majority.....and this guy has two votes so......"

CHOO CHOO

Wombat is town leading.

##Vote Wombat

Def don't like this opportunistic vote at all. So Nol doesn't offer opinions throughout the conversation, but then comes in with a vote on Wombat right after Jack does.

I will say I doubt Jack/Nol is scum/scum, just on the likelihood of scum coordinating together that closely on D1. So far null on Jack (altho I def didn't like his "Awh I wish you coulda been town Wombat!" comment), leaning slight scum on Nol.

Wow....the Mod posts a timer and suddenly, Womby has the lead.   Still, Womby's posts and logic give me a headache.  The "U MAD, BRO?" troll response to AJ is almost begging for a lynch.  We shouldn't be hasty, but dang......I'd bet my donkey he's got red in his ledger.

(out of character) I'm having a blast here! You all are making the grey matter within my skull chase its own figurative tail.

Lewis lemme ask you something. In fact here, lemme let this dude ask you himself:

3.  Aren't you at all concerned that you are at the head of the longest lynch line on the board right now?  Even just a Wwwwwwwweensy Lewisy bit?

Ironic post is ironical.

I acknowledged that you said it.  I didn't say it was correct.  Despo doesn't need to know I'm town in order to sheep me on D1.  At the very least, it gives him info on me.

Obviously you don't think I am correct if your vote is any sort of indication. I can see where you're coming from on trying to gain info on you. It didn't come across that way to me, however. Do you think you are so easily read for Despo to sheep you without question after a few posts? He indicated rather strongly that he thinks you are Town.

Wowwwww AJ you be misrepping HARD this game. Where did I indicate rather strongly that I thought Wombat was town? Again, you don't HAVE to see someone as town to sheep them. You can just be following a random lead, or using the move to test other's reactions.

WHY DO I KEEP HAVING TO EXPLAIN THIS ERMAHGERDDDDDDDDD

I just ISO'd Despo and he did nothing of the sort.  So far, he has complimented Lewis' vote on me as pro-town and said that my hunches are usually good.

Uh, no. That doesn't mean I believed Wombat to be town at the time, or you scum. It means I saw something I felt like following to see where it led. To be frank, I think it led to a goldmine

I like this recap. Her characterization of Lewis specifically reads very on point to me. You know what, I'm doing it. Tress for the first time is LOCK CLEAR folks!

pictured above (from left to right): Tress, Wombat, myself (figured I had to be Champ Kind and Wombat Ron Burgundy, otherwise the fantasy...erm I mean scenario, wouldn't be perfect), and Lewis. Yes, Lewis gets to be Brick.

And yeah, leaving my vote on AJ. His misrepping + the blatant omgus is def enough for me atm. Don't get the sudden CFD on Wombat.

And fyi, not as a sleight to Wombat, but tbh I think I can read him fairly well. For a long time I always saw him as obvtown in games, and kept hoping to see him as scum so I could refresh myself on his scum meta and see if it would stand out. Well, I've seen him as scum twice in recent memory, and both times I was able to read him as scum. So far I'm not picking up on any of the stuff I saw in those other games.

I may chalk this post up to the meds talking, but this post bothers me.  Last part first, I hardly see making a mountain out of a mole-hill in regards to Womby's "non-joke" reasons for keeping his vote where it is.  If it was just a joke vote, why has he kept it where it is?  I am strange to your mafia ways, yes, but I assume that the truth is still the truth here, right?

While my mountains are more like medium-sized mounds......well, at least C-Cups......Tress actually goes on to do just what she accuses me of in the paragraph just above said accusation.  She doesn't like AJ's poking around and calls it questionable, which is exactly what I am calling Wwwwombat's weak reasons for keeping his vote.

*sings* It's the KETTLE and POT reunion!

Quoting you on this one because....dang....anyways, I think I read you CLEAR, San Diego......but AJ Mantooth isn't striking me as scum in his posts.

Truth is I DO feel uncomfortable with the Wwwwwomby train growing in w's so suddenly with the MOD's timer posting as a catalyst.  What bothers me more is how DESPO and TRESS seem more concerned with picking apart the arguments made by AJ and I whilst ignoring those sneaky scum-for-nothings who joined the bandwagon.

BTW, I like this scene in Anchorman the best....I think we all can appreciate it in this game, being a "clash of the ancients" and all.

Jim-Coughlin.gif

Perhaps a Wwwwwomby lynch should go through.   Should Champ get WHAMMMMMIED and flip town, it makes Ron and Veronica LOCKCLEARed!  Flip scum, well... ;)

BTW, did you know that LockClear is German for mason jar?

All the things you have brought up about Wombat tho are either not out of the norm for around here, or he has addressed fairly easily. I like where your head is at, trying to find stuff, I just don't think you have anything with Wombat so far. He could be scum but right now I'm not seeing it, and the speed with which his train grew is slightly discomforting as well, even with the deadline being posted.

...AAAAND said deadline is like 72 hours from now.  By MS standards, that's like a year or something.  There's plenty of time to noodle us out a catfish.  No need for desperate bandwagoning.  So, why with all my yakkin did nothing come of the Womby train UNTIL said deadline was posted?  Very curious!

Your throwing some major townie vibes and you have my conflicted. Tempted to call you scum just for the nostalgia.

Anyways. I wanted to quote you buy not the behemoth you presented earlier as I can't trim it properly due to being on mobile.

Anyways, to your point about my vote on wombat or my wording of said vote. (which seems to be your issue instead of the vote itself.) I was using playful banter that's all.

As far as my reasoning goes.

Mainly gut pinging but reading Wombat's post their to nonchalant. Normally he played off the cuff but it also has substance or it goes somewhere. It has a logical procession that joj can see he's trying to get somewhere.

Well, I do think it's very possible that one of Jack/Nol could be scum that took an opportunistic hop onto a train. Doubt they'd be scum/scum, and between the two Nol stinks just a bit more to me.

I still say we auto lynch anyone who says lock clear...

I agree, and we start with the ones overusing lockclear AND frozen

 lol

Well, I will say that Wombat def has a slightly diff tone as town and scum. Town his tone seems to be almost... sharp sometimes. Like a cold form of aggressive. As scum he might be slightly more amenable. So I can see what you're saying there.

However, I think your read on Wombat might be just a little bit dated. His tone has softened somewhat lately, in some ways at least. He'll still flash into feral wombat mode at times, but will also be more likely to post... "nonchalantly" as you say. So I still don't really see it.

What do you think about AJ btw? Or Nolder? Did you find his vote suspicious at all?

Posted

Nolder not really. The fact that he tried to use reason to seperate what it really was is eye catching. Looks like a trumped up pressure vote. And I may be giving him to much credit but doubt he'd play so basically with his skill set as a player.

AJ seems to be stretching what I viewed as an obvious joke. But reading objectively I can see what he's saying but don't agree with it and also think he's making to big of a deal out of it

Wombat and AJ with a bit of Des thrown in looks mostly town on town.  Des comes out the worst to me, slight scum lean there.

Ah. Well I wont care about the scummy part thats unchangeable but ill work on commenting on the game more while still getting those in.

But this is the scummiest post of the game.  Lenlo goes from joketastic to suddenly very agreeable.

Ugh, I hate when people try to explain away with "Oh but I was joking!"  Scum lean on Jack

As scum he might be slightly more amenable.

Despo, you've just made my case on Lenlo.
