Also really not interested in Nolder opening with "DM needs a better class of townies" then going on to lecture everyone else how they should play. Not sure if it's just the way he is or scum trying to position himself as "town leader". I'll see if I can come up with more during re-read/reads list. Or see how it plays out.

I tend to lecture a lot, especially in Basic games. Sorry.

A lot of people take offense to it but I really do think that the DM mafia community as a whole has gotten worse at playing over the past 2 or 3 years not better. I am not a great player and I don't claim to be. I think my town game is decent but I suck as mafia, which is why I focus on things from a townie perspective. I feel I do have enough experience to weigh in there. What I tend to go on and on about I feel are basic concepts that I think some people never learned or that they've forgotten. I really try not to be condescending most of the time when I go into "lecture mode" and I hope that shows. I'm not trying to be a jerk I just want people to play a better game. And yes before anyone goes there it is just my idea of what proper gameplay is. You're free to disagree of course. You can take all this as scum setting themselves up to be town leader I guess but whenever I'm lynched or killed and it's shown that that's not true maybe you can go back and reread what I was saying knowing that I was sincere.

I'm just in a bit of a rush to get more perspective from the people who haven't talked much yet.

As I said in an earlier post tunneling on a few people and ignoring everyone else will hurt the town in the long run so I want to make sure we get some more thoughts from everyone as the game moves forward.

I don't see any contradiction in what I did there.  I said I agreed with Nolder and Dap on WBK and also that I thought Cloud was scummy.  Then I voted WBK.  I only have one vote.

 

 

I just did a quick catching up before going to work, so I'll be back with reads and whatnot later. I just had to drop in to point out the irony of "buzzword" being the new buzzword. Beautiful. 

 

I'm not gonna pursuit this whole vos-"weak"-sidetrack further. I've heard your opinions, voiced mine and now we're just distracting with dead-horse-beating. I've been led around by scum D1 before and not interested in doing that again.

Oh, and by the way, dap. "With you as the third vote. You know what the third vote means right?" - no, please enlighten me, what does the third vote mean? 

 

A lot of people think the 3rd vote on a train is scummy as it can start a bandwagon.  In reality, It means nothing.  Dap is good enough to know this too.  He is trying to cast suspicion on you with a rhetorical question.  Why he is doing this, I don't know.  Combined with him hiding behind his "competing trains" meta, I'm starting to feel pretty bad about Dap.  He seems to be trying to get you lynched without actually expressing a strong opinion on you.

Voting isn't always about who you think the scummiest is.  Attention must be paid to other votes as well.  Nolder had already voted WBK and Dap had expressed suspicion of WBK, so WBK was more likely to gain momentum than Cloud, and for D1, I saw both of them as fine trains.  Also, it could have given me info on whether Dap was actually suspicious of WBK or if he was just distancing from him while voting Nervositee for competing trains.  Unfortunately, the replacement thing kinda ruined it.  I'd normally vote WBK's replacement right now, but Dawn seems to be extremely new, so I don't see that as an avenue that will bring much information atm.  Looking forward to hearing from Dawn though.

And i believe you are being sincere in your lecture. i frankly enjoy them when they are comprehensive like the last but adding dumb to begin your lecture isnt helpful :)

Alright, just caught up. I might go back to respond to a few things I saw directed my way, but I am still kinda busy today. Andddd just a little hungover as well lol.

 

Jack still looks scummiest to me, tbh. He actually looks NOTHING like his recent town self in another game where he basically started lolcatting (acting like AJ was right about him being scum) instead of trying to defend himself. This game, he is doing everything he can to keep from getting lynched. He's whymefrymeing all over the place, and OMGUSing as well.

 

But really, it's the misreps. Oh LORD the misreps. His latest one- that Amega was trying to say he wanted to lynch Jack as either scum or town, was just terribad. The dude is clinging to anything he can to make his opponents look dirty. Seriously tho, you could iso Jack and already find like 4-5 misreps easily so far this game, and it's still D1. That's bad. Like needs to be lynched now kind of bad.

 

I also don't like Chael's catchup posts btw. It looks like she is trying to comment on little outlier things here and there instead of vocalizing her opinion about the more relevant things in the game currently. Still thinking Lily could be scummates with Jack, or mebbe even Kronos/Dawn, honestly (as in Kronos be scummates with Jack).

 

Nolder's are the worst tho. He is seeking out semantic arguments to pick with people over obscure stuff from days ago that no longer really matters. And I for one, find his one quote at a time posts to be much harder to follow what he is saying, follow his narrative. By doing one at a time all over the place he is basically able to do the same thing as Chael, but buff his post count at the same time to make himself look more active. Is much more annoying. Oh and if I DO get a sec I might at the very least point out Nol's fluff posts that he's acting like never happened.

 

Kinda nullish on both Wombat and Dap so far. Hard for me to think that Wombat would be this far off from what I'm thinking about some people in the game so far. Having a null on Jack for instance, is ridic. He's posted well enough already to have some kind of lean on him one way or another. And I kinda had to skim over Dap's last wot's a bit cause I was running out of time. Haven't seen any of his flagrant tells so far tho. Don't like him hiding behind meta but it's def to be expected at this point. Could see others saying the same about me and my wots.

 

Thinking Amega is town defending himself badly instead of scum. His arguments are dumb, but they're not scummy. He's still active tho, and looking for things he thinks are significant and making connections, so again he looks like eager derptown to me.

 

So right now my scum list is something like Jack, Chael, Lily, Nolderp, and Kronos/Dawn. Still happy with my vote on Jack. His scumminess is as evident as it can be in my eyes.

Not really, and tbh I don't think there will be any kind of great revelations to be found in either of their posts right this second. I know you didn't phrase it in an aggressive sort of way, but you did make it seem like you were interested in hearing their thoughts, which could have been an attempt at looking townie or trying to get town derailed into going after newer players.

Ameg is probably my highest list for townie ATM, his overt defense and tunneling and brash statements seem just like an ignorant townie then a bullish scum.

You know, I read this post several times before responding.

I went back and forth on whether it was sincere misunderstanding or not.

I've settled on not. You could say I'm seeking out arguments, if you wanted to twist things which I think you do, but they are not semantic in nature. I showed how Amega was committing a fallacious argument with regards to Jack. Maybe it's my fault or maybe not but yeah that took several posts to do. Perhaps if I'd bothered to look it up and link it at first it wouldn't have taken as long but such is life.

 

As for following my reread, it had no "narrative" so maybe that's why you had a tough time. And don't even accuse me of padding my votecount. Look at the timestamps of my posts. I was here all day until well into the AM last night. That is active.
