As the sun rises over the treetops the island of Catan is bathed in light. Birds are chirping, horses neighing, squirrels chittering. Everything seems fine but the people of Catan wake to an eerie mood. The village is silent as they file in to the town square one by one. When it seems like everyone had arrived a man jumped onto a fountain and began to eyeball them furiously before speaking. "Darkness! Darkness has arisen on this island! We have disturbed it's slumber and now it will devour us! Consume us! It walks among us even now!" Then he let out a hideous scream and jumped on a horse and rode away. "Out of his damn mind!" One man opined while a couple chuckled. But they knew he was right. They could all feel it too. "What do we do? We can't just leave our homes." A woman asked. "We do the only thing that makes sense. We start hanging people until this servant of darkness is dead and gone!" Everyone began talking all at once, not about whether it should be done, but about who should be chosen first...

 

It is now Day.
