Well, I think the claim idea interesting. It is possible for us to lie about everything save that a claim must be what it must be, so that can certainly help. I don't see why not to use such a possibility. In part I thought AVM might be mafia because it struck me Fred might have been a decent guess for mafia to claim, as someone the town wouldn't have. Well, it wasn't so, but that only means there's something else to work on. It's only the mafia who have to wonder on whose toes they'll be stepping when claiming someone.

 

We should use all possible means to catch the mafia.

It was discussed a couple times when salami brought it up initially. I don't buy you didn't know that after your read through the thread.

I had quite a busy weekend, and I only now just got home after helping my brother move to his new appartment. I will do my reread this evening, so you can all expect some game related thoughts soon.

Ok so that reread took way longer than expected. I did end up reading everything and making plenty of mental notes, and I even started writing a whole WoT but while I was writing it I wanted to go back once more to check on a few  things and I'm way too tired for that right now so it will have to wait until tomorrow morning. I will give a very quick summary right now: I have a town read on Tina, but the only thing that is still bothering me is that she has put the three people who are currently voting for her in her mafia list, and she is pushing the idea forward of mass claiming without thinking it through (I will explain that tomorrow). I have a better town read on both Leelou and Peace, and I'm also starting to lean town on Despo after my reread. I'm unsure about Mish. I think that Dice is mafia, and I;m suspicious of Verbal because of the way he has been evasive in posting many game related thoughts.The thing that is making me believe that Dice is mafia is that he has only been doing two things when he is posting: he is either defending himself, or he is posting something not really game related. So yeah I will explain the rest tomorrow because I'm still not done yet with writing the damn thing.

Yeh, I don´t think the claim idea will work. I didn´t understand that you could lie about if your claim was your real character or not. Unless someone comes up with a way to get round that I will have to drop it. I look forward to read about why you think those people are town.

Why are you avoiding this game? You post but still choose to not contribute at all. 

 

The same goes for GF - I believe that you are town, but when you post it would be good if you could give us your oppinion about the game.

lets see tina    when i post im accused of defending or not contributing. yet i have weighed in on ure thought of claims and on why csarmi wasnt unvoted and answered people. yet somehow im defensive and /or not contributing.

 

Csarmi was by far the scummiest person going D1. If id been here i most definitely would have voted him and not just cause he was a lover but because he was being scummy., He and AVM flipped town throwing my theory re lovers out the window. Since then there has barely been anyone here to get reads on.

 

i think mish is town  im wary of you tina and watching GF.

 

you accuse me of not contributing yet GFs weird "contributions" were why i voted her in the first place and there have been people even more inactive then me.

Been to the dentist today, I'll be out of comission for the rest of the day (I have dentist phobia and need to calm down + when the numbing wears off, I'll be in quite a bit of pain).

As far as I can see, the claims can pretty much only help after death. I was thinking help from such a mechanic might balance town having lovers. A bit divded on the game yet.

 

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're saying.  You seem to flip flop between posting for the sake of saying something, and then thinking more deeply about a certain game point.  I know I haven't dug into this game yet, so I'm trying to do that now.  Weekends suck for me, and this game hasn't had enough attention from me yet.  I plan to remedy that going forward.

 

If I take a shot at what you're saying here, you mean that we can't really glean from a claim whether scum or town?  If so, I'd agree....obv we've seen a townie with a "fake claim", so scum will be in the same boat.....meaning we can't really identify scum with that approach.  I don't think character claims are going to get us anywhere in this game.

 

I'm going to reread some folks with the nifty ISO (ish) function and see what I can find.

I still haven't had time to reread everything and I'm slightly frustrated that I haven't been able to. 

 

I'm unvoting Tina for now. GF really was avoiding the game most of the day 1 and slid in a vote Day 1 without much reason as to why.

Heads up...my modem failed.  Can only pretty much play from work until I can get it replaced. 

 

Anyway...I did a re-read on Tina...no major scum screams for me on her.  I like Mish and Tina for town at this point.  To me it looks like those who are brave enough to speak are getting accused of being scum. 

 

GF still has my vote.

Alright, finally back at work. Sorry about my activity while I was gone, it was even lower than normal because I was busy putting up xmas decorations and catching up on sleep while I was off. Tried posting at one point but got cloudflared. Caught up to here.

 

Not sure if Tina's responses really satisfy me or not. On one hand, I like that she tries getting her reads out, that's def a townie response to a growing train on you. On the other, I don't like her trying to bring up the massclaim idea again, as it seemed like a distraction before and continued to be today, and I also don't like her flip-flop on me, which she kinda setup with the whole "mebbe he's trying to change his meta" thing.

 

Besides her, only other player I have anything of a solid feeling on atm is Dice, don't like his vote on GF day 1 and the way he said it was for pressure (such an awful thing to say as far as why you're voting someone), and I also don't like his recent wah wah if I do anything I'll catch heat for it AtE.

 

Gonna reread tho to see if anything else sticks out or if I feel the need to move my vote. If I'm not mistaken, we have around a day or so till deadline, so we gotta start moving quick.

Okay, finished my reread. I just want to say real quick, it's really tough for me to accept Cloud as conf town atm, cause on my reread I found several pings from him. Won't go through them all, cause it might be wasted effort anyways, but a lot of parroting (he mainly parrots Leelou a lot), and pushing the CS lynch after the Lover's claim (whether it was him or AVM). I WILL post one thing I found which seemed odd however.

I was talking about Tina's theory which said that there could be multiple players who had the same fake claim. I know that I'm the real Fred, and I also have him as my fake claim. Why would Cloud have Fred as a "fake" claim as well? If we have polyjuiced characters, we're not allowed to reveal our actual characters per the rules. So why would Cloud have Fred as a fake claim if he's not polyjuiced?

 

I'll say now I am polyjuiced, so cannot reveal my actual character, but for anyone who doesn't have a polyjuiced character: If you're not polyjuiced, do you also have a fake claim?

 

Still seems kinda tough to believe Cloud would have "CC'ed" the Fred claim as mafia, especially without a later CC from a "real" Fred. However what CS said could be true, that if Cloud is mafia then the best time for him to claim would be right then, as a preemptive move. I dunno. Just bothered me when I saw it

Leelou, it's kind of disconcerting that you comment on the speed of my train, and then leave your vote where it is. What's up with that?

 

Still just waking up. Wanted to look at the train first before moving my vote. All the other votes on your train look like pile on. Salami's and Cloud's are sticking out the most right now, but I doubt mafia would pile on that quickly. Out of the 2, I'm more inclined to say salami is scum. Cloud is generally hard for me to read at first and I find him to be on the scummy side.

Dude......take it from the guy who has probably given Des more of a hard time than any 2 people on this site combined when it comes to his attitude in games and his aggressiveness. (Des can back me up on that one, I'm sure)...............you're being silly.

 

I forgot to respond to this before. Yes, Verbal def isn't a fan of my playstyle I don't think, mebbe cause it's the antithesis to his in a way (I start off aggressive, he picks up steam later on). I do think we've come to a bit of a mutual respect in some ways however. :wink:

 

Btw Verbal, as someone who knows Leelou well, what do you think of her play this game?

Lot of posts like this on day 1 from Tina. She really only has herself to blame for getting any attention today, she def didn't do a good job of getting out her "towniness" day 1. Mostly just said she wasn't caught up yet for a while, eventually put out some confused posts about the Lover's thing and that's it.

 

Not sure if I want to keep my vote on her or move it however. The fact that her train didn't pick up quickly actually tells me she could be scum after all, since if she was town more of the mafia team prob would have bandwagoned onto her today. Of course this could actually be from general inactivity on the thread instead.

I've decided I will change my vote after all.

I see more than enough evidence implicating her as scum. She had that strange post in response to Tina's (T: I have this game figured out   L: GF, Des, CS scum team?). I don't like how she pressured CS yesterday, by continuously just saying he was acting scummy without really explaining why much (one of Ithi's favorite scumtells, ie saying someone is scummy enough in the hopes that others will start to think so). She was also very active day 1 in pursuing CS's lynch, yet today she has offered very little in the form of scumhunting (says she is busy, but you know how that goes...). Her play has also seemed too singular this game, she doesn't spend any time commenting on others, instead chooses to keep focus on the one she is trying to get lynched. Looks like deliberate scum play. I also think BFG's NK could have been because of Leelou; BFG was commenting on some of Leelou's posts, to which Leelou responded that BFG was "getting things all mixed up" (eh, how? She never explained how), and Leelou is like Verbal in that she will be quick to NK someone to silence them if they're on her trail.

 

Other than Leelou, I'm wary of Dice for his defensive whyme fryme posts, and cause his vote on GF yesterday seemed somewhat opportunistic. Still wary of Tina, but her day 1 play could have just been cause she was busy, at the very least she has some reads out now. I think right now our best bet for scum is Leelou. And by that I mean she's obviously scum.

It's technically possible to have two Fred fake claims, nothing has told us that that is impossible.

 

So if you can claim your "real" character, I take that to mean you're not polyjuiced? If not, does Cloud's post make sense? Do you have a fake claim as well, even tho you're not polyjuiced?

 

I don't suppose you'd like to share your character with us, would you?
