SD, they did a total talent revamp in Cataclysm. Now you get a talent point every other level (odd levels to reflect an odd-numbered level cap) and you don't have to train new levels of spells - they level up with you.

 

Basically they removed a lot of talents, which thinned out the trees, and redesigned the remaining ones so you don't need so many talent points.

 

Dinged 85 last night on the exploration of Twilight Highlands. That makes all but BC where I've done that. :)

 

 

Yea I noticed teh talents. Also noticed you can't even hybridize your spec until 30 points in. :(

They shoulda at least introduced an AA system since you don't get a shiney new aa every level.

 

I do like how they changed the spells.

Made respeccing talents expensive.

At level 40 you can dual spec for 10g (down from 1000g). Which means you can swap between two specs as long as you are not in combat.

Have I mentioned running herorics is super hard. Loving Shadow dps and really learning the ins and outs while before I was primarily a healer that sometimes touched dps. I learned so many tricks that I rarely have mana trouble in shadow. Healing is still a different manner...

 

Archeology was fun at first but maybe it is too repetitive... I don't mind crafting an item for other professions because usually they are somewhat useful or at least sellable. But so far I have solved about 15 puzzles and they all suck. I know good stuff is coming I just do not see the light in the tunnel yet.

 

Last night my guild completed all Vanilla and LK dungeons. We broke out into groups and tackled them in an hour or two. I think we rank #2 on our realm. Very nice.

 

After we were done a guildie said they were looking for a healer for a LK run. I decided to join in. Most were over 80... and there was 1 85 hunter (doing 16K dps btw... holy hell). This group really made me appreciate our runs with the guild. They were just terrible. I think I spent most of my mana on dispelling plague because no one would move to the adds when they got it on them. Once we lost a few members during transition as the outter layer broke. We made it to the valks once and people were not sure how to stun. There was an 83 DK doing 3800 dps!!!! Terrible (except that hunter). Plus in vent I learned they were little kids. 3 wipes later I was out and in bed. Our group was MUCH better and with our higher dps we shouldn't have much issue. Healing was a pain as I ran out of mana my first time... I really need some tricks to regen mana for holy priests (other than shadowfiend).

Damnit. The cata 10 day trial won't let me go past lvl 80 lol. I already got some new gear though. OH well, have to wait till I get 15 bucks. That underwater place is kind of a pain in the ass.

But yeah, I wish I could have gone on those runs - I'll be going for others soon, once I level a little more. I'm only 82 now, but will hit 83 tonight, and hopefully 84 by Christmas, and then 85 by the new year.

Let me know if you need some int gems or anything. Now that I can make the +60 Dodge, +60 Stam and +40 Int gems I am going to focus on learning the very top rare gems.

One of the best things about leveling now is that I have plenty of gold - I'm over 2k gold which doesn't usually happen. I'm saving to power-level Enchanting. I don't see a lot of those in <The Dragons>, so I figure I'll help out there. Besides, Varju has made me a bunch of Flasks of the Frost Wyrm during our ICC raids, so I owe him, lol. Actually, I think I owe you a few as well, Emp. Heh.

I'll be hitting 85 today, I would imagine. I am like 3/4 of the way there. Another few hours of grinding it out on some quests and mobs should do it.

 

Getting myself some pretty nice gear with Cata. I'd like to see some new class sets for Cata though.

 

I figure once I nail 85, I'll focus on my Worgen warrior, or go back to messing with my rogue possibly. He's already lvl 44 I believe. I migrated him to Sen'jin along with my pally and then never really played him.

 

Though I would like to turn my warrior into the ultimate tank.

Dinged 83. Wooooo. Blah. Everybody else in the damn game is 85 already. Ugh. Varju is just pumping through the zones while I am doing every possible quest (going for Loremaster), so he's left me behind after Vash.

 

I think I'm more than halfway done with all the quests in Hyjal, so I can move onto Deepholm within a couple of play sessions. So much for 84 by Christmas. Maybe by the New Year.

I'm still 75, going on 76, doing something like maybe, 15-20 quests in 6 hours...

 

Course my latency at its best is around 600, and the highest around 3,500.

That doesn't seem like very many quest for that amount of time for some reason. I've been playing an alt cause I don't actually have cata right now and I've been playing for 14 hours and just got the 100 quests achievement.

Turning in quests is the worst...

 

I'm also 75 in zul'something in northrend. alot more running around than in lower levels imo.

The game tells you your latency right on the "game menu", on the bottom of your screen.

IT shows Character Info -> Spellbook abilities -> Talents ---->end is game menu -> help request.

Game Menu, you just highlight and it'll show you your latency.

I've made a worgen warrior. Currently 65. Leveling chars from 1-60 is a blast now, but man, outlands is such a downer, and i'm assuming northrend will be as well.

I thought the first time through BC was alright, but then I also had half a guild competing to get to level cap. (I was #2, #1 was a damn dirty troll shaman. :P)
