My thought is that if I can compile about 200 games for a role and rate the effectiveness of it based on what it is intended to do in general play that I can eliminate the swinginess of good vs bad players, early deaths vs game winners, inventive use vs dull play and etc.

 

Then average it and put it on a scale. I'm still trying to create the scale and thankfully MS has a lot of games to pull from + predefined roles.

You could always do a multiple regression. It would still be biased by MS meta though.

You won't have a chance without interaction terms imo. Second order terms too. Kills for instance interact with parity through mislynch mechanics. Mafia:Town numbers also interact with a cop and I doubt it's first order given a result I saw in one of my experiments.

I considered keeping it simple and doing multisite. It won't be pretty or proper, but it only needs to function well eno u gh for practical application. Still a damn bit too much work for one person as a hobby.

I have an item which makes me invulnerable to all bit one type of NK. I can't say what it is unfortunately as that would give my character away for those somewhat knowledgeable of Greek mythology, but the kind of NK it is, as well as flavor wording of my pm, led me to believe that the Gods would be mafia.

 

I also have a 3 shot vig.

 

I have never ONCE changedyl my story about anything said in my pm or anything really. Had no advance knowledge of titans. Once I learned about em I thought they wouldn't be town because of flavor. Prometheus is considered a patron to humanity in Greek mythology, but he's not one of the original titans and thus he isn't usually thought of as one. And I still don't see why it would be a definite that he would be in the game. Have never "Prometheus-fished"

 

As for my idea, I still think its golden. Getting the opportunity to get 5 confirmed town by day 1, as well as bag a potential scum and get two more out of the lynch pool, would give town a wonderful opportunity to whittle away all the normal hiding spots for scum. Worst case scenario you might put some town roles at risk, but not much more risk than they'd normally be at, and as a tradeoff you'd get a much easier way of smoking them out. Still think its the way to go.

CSarllamaee saying he's not a god after MCS said he was one seems extremely sketchy to me. Pretty sure he's sc as well. Both he and Wombat are defending the idea that Dice's Lover could be town the most.

 

Wombat, you know that it is a good possibility Dice's Lover is mafia. Most Lover pairs we've seen lately have been the town/mafia kinda. Additionally, Dice said that his Lover's claimed character didn't seem to have a connection to him. So apparently they're lying to him as well. What more do you need?

 

And someone touched on this earlier, but I think there could be a possibility that Dice's Lover is not only scum, but is a powerfully roles scum as Dice's counterpart. This idea is making more and more sense to me the more I think about it. Still think the best thing would be to lynch Dice's Lover today. Lynching me would get rid of a vettable role as well as one which could be a thorn to the mafia because of my item. Yalls choice tho.

Lynching Dice's Lover = Getting 5 confirmed townies at once, potentially bagging a scum, limiting the lynch pool by 6 spots, and confirming a TON of info about setup.

@Tina: Of course me voting for Berf and pushing for a speedlynch wasn't meant to be taken seriously. I have been playing mafia longer than that, lol. I just noticed that the game was starting to slow down to a crawl and I wanted to get a couple of reactions from people, but it didn't really work out as planned. I disagree with Berf's cases, but so far I haven't seen any pingy play from him that could warrant a serious vote.

I unvoted from Basel because he finally came back in the game with a defense of his own. He is still sticking to his earlier reads from the start of the game, but I can't blame him for not having any new scum reads because I don't have them myself either, and there hasn't happened that much since then anyway.
 
I also found Thorum's play weird, but he was kinda acting the same way in the Harry Potter game in the WT and Wombat also mentioned that he is on his meta so I'm guessing it's nothing new for him to question a mod confirmed townie in a normal game :P

It's my anniversary today, so I'll be sparse.

 

I reacted to the fact that, you said yourself that Wombat is doing a thing he did when he was mafia in our last game together. We know that Thorum and Wombat was mafia together then. Wombat defended Thorum. And you don't find it worthy a pause to see Wombat doing the exactly same thing here?

 

And in case you missed this too: It says more about you and your alignement, than Thorum or Wombat. Because, if you were town, wouldn't you be a tiny bit concerned about Wombat doing the exactly same thing this game? Of course, if you are mafia, and neither Thorum or Wombat is, of course you're not concerned about that, you're rather subtly buddying up to Thorum instead.
