Yates: What you did was scummy and if I had been in that game I would never have allowed you to live another day. Promising to self vote based on someone else's lynch is newb scum tactics and I don't know how you got away with it. Hopefully now that you and Verbal used such simple tactics to befuddle an entire town we wont see such amateur moves work again.

As for you being worried I am making some kind of pseudo case on you, you can relax because I'm not.

It was Page 1 so I was willing to let it go, especially considering your play afterwards and at the time I already had bigger fish to fry.

So... you simultaneously insult me and refuse to answer my question?

If you are scum, you better kill me tonight, brother.  Fair warning.

I must not understand your question. Can you rephrase it?

Sometimes. It depends just how silly. I have voted 80 more than once for self voting knowing full well he was more than likely town.

If you've seen my past arguments for this policy lynch you'd know that it's a case of, well if that person is going to be so stupid as to be a detriment and distraction I would rather just get rid of them on the offchance they are mafia than leave them alive to screw up endgame for the rest of us.

As the moderator of the game that precipitated my self vote, do you think I did it to be a detriment to the Town/distraction *OR* for the lulz?  For those of you not familiar with the game in question; I promised to self-vote if Des flipped Town.  Of course, I was scum in that game and it was a gambit that helped us to win the game.  I'm pretty sure this post made it apparent that my self vote was a meta lulz post:

Who am I to disagree with a wagon of such magnitude?

Vote: Yates

At least you've done the self-vote you promised, hehe.

Context is everything, Nolder.  You know this.  So I'm not buying your argument in post 321.  Why did you make an abstract argument about a specific example in the game?  Looks weird, bro.

Indeed.  He's doing the round peg, square hole routine.

I still cannot believe that it wasn't incredibly obvious when Verbal claimed I was scum.  THE NIGHT AFTER YOU PROMISED A SELF-VOTE!

Hiding in plain sight I guess.

Of course it was incredibly obvious....that's why it worked.

You underestimate the power and impact of WIFOMing with Occam's Razor.  A move that simple that works on a town not full of mafia noobs obviously can't be "amateur".  ;-)

cuz occam shaved using a razor not a katana

(but if you think about it, shaving using a katana would be totally bad ass)

Sure...

Considering you weren't town that game that is an incredibly odd question.

I think it was a move to buy you one extra day because one extra day was all your team needed.

To be clearer, it was a tactical move and not for "lulz" although you may have had some when it turned out your move worked out favorably.

Had it not you may not have been quite as amused.

Why Occam's Razor? Why not like Occam's Samurai Sword? That's a good metre more badass.

Yeah but the thing is a Samurai sword is alot harder to conceal.

No. I'm quite obviously talking about *this* game.

Uh, no you're not. You asked me about the game I was moderating.

Fine. Occam's Ninja Sword then.

I said you moderated the game .dot .dot .dot that PRECIPITATED my self vote *IN THIS GAME*

If you think that was somehow unclear, I have just made it clear for you.

Do you think my self vote IN THIS GAME fit the criteria you outlined OR do you think it was "for the lulz" as someone privy to the circumstances surrounding that inside joke?

Ok that makes a lot more sense.

But now I'm confused on another point.

You're basically saying, knowing that your promise to self vote was a scummy delaying tactic in the other game (I didn't need to be mod to know that but w/e), does that change my perception of your self vote in this game?

Sigh. Thought I would end up quoting less from this one since I caught up in the other one first, and I ended up quoting more. Will have to trim some of the fat... anyways yeah I'll once again try to keep responses to each concise:

Vote Yates

For self voting. Ugh.

Man... pinging in this thread too Cloud. Are you implying that a self-vote is a scumtell?

It was a blatant bandwagon vote man. No need to overjustify it.

You later bandwagon to Csarlami as well.

Yes I'm implying that self-voting is a scumtell. It's an easy way to be seen as pro-town because why would a scum vote for himself? I'm not saying that I think Yates is scum, but I certainly didn't like his early self-vote and that's why I also voted for him.

I wasn't bandwagoning on Csarmi at all. At the start of the game I was one of the first to notice him trying to cover his meta between the three threads and I was quite vocal in pushing for his lynch and also gave my reasonings why I thought he was scum in one of the threads (it had to do with him changing his story).

I don't think all self-votes are scumtells, if even a significant number at all of them are. The AtE kind can be considered scumtells, but then those kind are usually accompanied with an emo meltdown (See CSarlami's in T1), so they can be treated diff imo. Even without the whole promised self-vote thing from the previous game (which you were TOTALLY privy to, seeing as how you were his scumbuddy), it still should have been obvious that it was a joke self-vote. He was being bandwagoned for pretty much nothing immediately at the start of day 1. I myself would have probably whined for 7 pages about how everyone was out to get me. Yates is a little more flippant tho so he decided to enjoy a laugh at his own expense at the situation.

And yes, you were bandwagoning onto Csarlami. In THIS thread you voted without giving any reasons, and you weren't one of the first to point out the meta thing (that would be Nolder and Verbal, as they will prob tell you since they are so eager to gain the town cred from that lol). It was a bandwgaon vote. Would be better to just own up to it instead of trying to argue that it wasn't.

Hey hey hey! It didn't befuddle an ENTIRE town! I had em completely pegged! Blame the peeps who didn't realize I am so amazing I should always be trusted in mafia games.

Seriously tho, it shouldn't have worked.
