I've never seen Yates that protective of someone he wasn't sure of. Which means he was sure of DPR's alignment. He is a total team player and didn't want to bus because he thought they could pull it off. He is damn good too, practically no tells.

Ha! This is a straight up lie. You were mod in a game where I lynched my team. And you know it. I would lynch my MOTHER to keep myself alive.

Don't do that. You just gave him an excuse to not know how Symps work. He knows. They have them on MS too I'm pretty sure.

And to correct this, Symps are practically *NEVER* known about by the mafia. Symps may know them, but it is a one way street. That is what makes them a sympathizer.

I really thought MS has Symps.

A symp is someone who is not part of the mafia team but knows who the mafia are. Sometimes they can see the QT.

If you NK them they become full mafia and can participate in planning/post on the QT etc.

Dude, the story didn't add up. His casework, his statements, his play all didn't fit and none of it matched how someone should handle that role. You may disagree with how abrasively I handled it, but I spotted the inconsistencies and no claim could protect from that. Next time, the person that claims their role and plays like it will be noted as playing like it and it won't be a problem, or they'll lie and get lynched.

Whatever. I get into this same argument with vig claims when people want to call them SK's. You test a vig claim with an investigation. You counter a vig claim with a shot in the night. That's where I stand.

Basically a symp is scum aligned but the scum team don't know who the player is or if a symp exists. The symp may or may not know who the scum team are. Symp wins with the scum team and figures in majority numbers.

This. Can't be too formulaic about mafia. Have to weigh all evidence when considering whether or not to keep from lynching someone. A claim on it's own shouldn't really save someone imo.

Nope, luck had nothing to do with it. DPR was dropping pretty much all of the classic scum tells. OMGUS, whymefryme, overly defensive, convenient claim, using emo to discredit his attackers, etc.

That's.... not really what a symp is. They're almost always aligned with mafia from the start, they don't switch alignment because of a NK. Also, I think most mods wouldn't allow them to speak on the QT if they weren't recruited there first.

Sweeeeet. Yeah, I agree, Tinker looks pretty awful right now. He also responded to a lot of the jabs I threw DPR's way earlier in the game.

Verbal and Krak's votes also have a very pungent aroma as well. Verbal made it seem like he would not vote DPR no matter what, even to help secure a lynch, but never made it seem like he had a town read on DPR or anything. Yates fought the DPR lynch pretty hard, but I think he was doing so on faulty reasoning. Krak didn't vote DPR the first day then put up a poopy post today justifying his vote.

Tink, Krak, Verb are my top suspects. Verbal is the most usual of them however.
