Krak didn't give me anything to check; he didn't join the "I'm town"-chorus. No, I don't think he is the ST. But I think the mafia has one, and so they all know I existed, and were trying to root me out and/or distract me. Krak couldn't know that I was the LD when he started pushing on me yesterday, but to me it seemed pretty clear he wanted to distract the LD to check me instead of one of his mafia buddies.

Ok, I'm officially giving up on quotes.

My history (short):
I played a lot of mafia games from the first one till about a year ago, with later games less activity due to rl. I tried returning the end of last year, but had to quit WAY too soon due to the same rl issues. With things appearing to have calmed down, I'm trying again. However, I play to have fun. Read what wombat says about the consequences :).

Kaylee, your answer on my post (hidden in the huge multiquote) only makes sense as a way to set me up for later. It bears little to no relation to the truth (unless you've been REALLY inattentive, which I don't think). Hence, my vote stays. You only had a joke vote on you before my vote, Tiink's case was nowhere near serious (think out of the box, instead of following those 'rules' to distinguish mafia. Mafia knows those as well, and will do it's best to avoid them. More so than non-mafia players, even). And I've explained why I voted you in (very much) detail. Do I have to repeat myself?

What I don't get: how is 'setting up a lynch' a mafia thing, in the way I did it?

You checked a message from thorum saying that he isn't mafia.. That is different from saying that he is town.  Thus Thorum is not confirmed in any way yet even if the mafia doesn't have an ST.  I bring this up so that we don't have to listen to him go on ad nauseum about it and because it didn't help my suspicions any.

 

As for Wombat, I already strongly thought he was town so it is good enough for me, but I know that the silvertongue discussion is going to come now (especially considering how concerned you are for it) and wanted to head it off as well because clearly it is something out of our control.  We still must judge play above all else, but your viewings are very likely accurate.

I think it would be irresponsible to play on without taking those two LD's as correct, but that doesn't excuse the possibility that one is a ST nor should we ignore scummy play from those two in the future.  But for now, I'm willing to read Wombat as town and Thorum as not mafia.

So now I am completely lost on why you claimed?  You had no votes on you.  You were at least looking a bit scummy so it was likely you wouldn't get night killed.  Being the LD you were in a perfect non-reveal position.  What gives?

This info also changes my view on Not Bob a bit.  He was pushing strongly for thorum to kill wombat to prove his role.  Less of a strong town read to a slight town read now.

Peace, Razen, GF, Krak, Not Bob, I think it's time you guys state you are town now. Don't leave any wiggle room. Just "I'm town" will do just fine.

I'm thinking two reasons/possibilities:

 

A) She's mafia and there's no silvertongue, so they took the gamble and she claimed LD, protecting one scum and one not scum (it's doubtful she would claim two scummates are checked town, so she probably tried to protect one she thought was in trouble or in a good position to play "town").  If this is true, it was a good breadcrumb.  Unless the scum came up with this gambit pretty early (when Misheru answered Despo's question about masons), then I think this is the less likely of the two.

 

B) She's LD.  I believe this for the moment.

Nonono, they need to also state that they are not anti-town and that they win with the town.  Otherwise you can find role technicalities that allow them to slip through the cracks.

I was on the look-out for people hinting to an LD because I know there is a big chance the mafia has a silver tongue and so knew about me. That's why Krak stuck out to me so, with him pushing on me. Now I can also tell you that Thorum said D1 he was not mafia, and that is true, and Wombat said D2 that he's town, and that was also true. One of them might be the silvertounge of course; there's always that chance.

Kraka:  my #1 choice for scum at this point.  Highly recommend we lynch him now.

Hmmm, this is pure speculation on my part, but what are the chances that Hallia could be fake claiming in order to allow the real cop of this game to avoid being RB by the mafia?

 

The fact that Vam even speculates this is odd.

If she was not the real cop and was fake claiming, why would she know that she was being role blocked?  Normally, if you don't have a role and are role blocked, it doesn't do anything - only if you actually have a role do you know you were being roleblocked.  The fact that she's posted this twice reinforces the belief that she was telling the truth about her claim.  Add to that the fact that she's not been counterclaimed, and you have a plausible assumption that Hally is indeed the cop.

I agree that its doubtful. Unless the real cop in this game decided that he or she could help the Town better by not counter claiming and thus avoid being RB by the mafia. 

 

I believe that Hallia is probably the cop. But what if she is not?

 

 

Now, let me ask, why does Vam bring up the possibility of her not being the cop?  He himself admitted that he believes that Hally was probably the cop.  So the interaction here is odd.

 

Where is Thorum? Probably enjoying family time over the weekend. However, if I add my vote to his train, he is still at least two more votes away from being lynched. Also, I am finding his interactions with Wombat to be suspicious. Therefore;.....

It sounds to me like Vam was laying the groundwork for the scum to come in and lynch Thorum without his getting a word in.  In a game like this, two votes is nothing.  So the nonchalant vote is interesting.  He can claim that he didn't hammer, and that it was someone else who actually lynched Thorum.

 

For Mish's benefit:

I am town.  I win only with town.  There is no other way I can win. (I copied Peace's statement, as it is stronger than just saying "I'm town")

 

And finally, I didn't like Vam's whole line about the cop.  Given that he himself admitted that he believed that Hally was probably the cop, I think he was adding nothing but unnecessary speculation to the game.  Add to that a vote on Thorum at the end of the day that put him up to L-2 with that being part of the reason that he voted has me thinking that we found one.  Unvote, vote: Vam.

Razen: Uhm. If Hallia was mafia and fake-claiming (I don't think she is, but if), then claiming being blocked would be a logical move. It would explain why she didn't have any reads and allow her to not makeany confirmed townies.
