I can only think of Edward Jenner who developed the smallpox vaccine from cowpox. He innoculated his children first I think - but I can't find a rodent in literature with the same name.

So ... Probably totally wrong lol

On 14 May 1796, Jenner tested his hypothesis by inoculating James Phipps, an eight-year-old boy who was the son of Jenner's gardener. He probably innoculated his wife and two children during a smallpox outbreak in 1794.

Are all the bases covered now?

I get an earlier date for the 18 month old son, and he did it again a few years later.

but when you're doing creepy experiments on kids you don't always keep great records...

Cool everyone.

Sorry Mother, I mixed my phrasing up, I meant not fond of bovines.

It was Jenner (villain from the Rats of NIMH) and his creation of small pox vaccine and inoculation of his children.

Points awarded to both Ith and Cindy! I'll award both of you 55 points! :)

OK ... So 30 points for "when" ...I'll throw in 5 for getting the NIMH reference and being gracious. :)

35 points? Cool?

Haha, the worst part is I didn't even need to look it up! Probs the only question I know though :P I'll still attempt to play along though!
