I have mainly been watching, my apologies.      This is my first game I've ever done, so I am trying to get a feel for how to play, without messing up.  I am trying, but if I'm doing something wrong, feel free to tell me.

You're doing fine. Don't worry about her she picks on people for all the wrong reasons in mafia. There are things you could do to improve your gameplay (post more, analyze more, speak your mind) but you aren't doing anything wrong per say so don't stress about it too much.

The main reason I've been hesitant about posting a lot is because I don't know everyone that well, and I'm still not the most confident in speaking my mind.  But I will do so, even if I'm way off with my ideas.  One thing that does strike me is that Darthe really does seem to care about what happens to townies, he just doesn't strike me as being scummy...well, at least, besides the targeting the newb thing. XD

Right now I'd be willing to vote either Nolder or Red, to be honest.  I was uncomfortable with several things yesterday, including what felt like Red doing a bit of buddying while Nolder tried to push a policy lynch.  She never overtly defended me, but I don't think I've ever seen her step so carefully with me when she's been town.  Usually she's nitpicking on something I've said or done.

 

Nol's little helpful bit with Hallia when day started also didn't sit right with me, it felt off.  Sure, it's mostly a meta-based gut feeling where those two are concerned.  If neither of them is mafia I'd be shocked.

 

 

Nol strikes me as a townie.  I know that might just be because he's been helpful towards me, but that's my gut.

 

 

 

All that said, it still felt off to me, the way you went about it out of the blue without any questions being asked.

The day had just started and I was checking in when it occurred to me. And yes preempting questions was very much the point. Let's say Hallia is the doctor and she wonders if the person she protected was saved and naively asks on thread, instead of to the mod, whether or not doctors are usually informed whether they protected successfully or not. This would obviously tip everyone off that she's the doctor and out her role which isn't something we want.

 

 

If we need a lynch today, I would be willing to change my vote.

 

 

I'm also willing to vote Red.  We have a bit of time until deadline, though.

 

 

The people that voted for Red's death would be the most suspicious, with Red saying herself that she believed Cloud to be the scummiest.  Maybe he's worth taking a look at?

Agreed - I'm pretty much sure that Mish is probably doc for the same reasons.

 

Not feeling good on Cloud.  Hallia I'm unsure on, but dislike her logic on thinking Darthe is scum because he voted for her. Darthe I'm unsure.  I still think Nolder is scummy as well.  Want to hear Tress's ideas.

I am.  I have been thinking, it does seem like you are town.  You genuinely seem to care about who is/isn't scum.  I don't know everyone very well yet, but it seems like you're willing to hear people's cases when they defend themselves.  I think Nolder's town, but I am getting a funny feeling about Kronos.  

 

 

So if I think Kronos is scum, and he  suspects you and Nol but defends Tress, would he be defending a fellow mafioso?

 

 

Darthe – At first I kind of went along with Red’s opinion that you were scummy because of the initial double second vote to me, saying that it was an easy lynch on the noob.  His response that he was going after me to get a response from others looking back seems like a valid reason.  But you’ve gone back to me several times with a different reason, so that gives me reason to doubt you. I’m on the fence, but now I find myself leaning towards you, me, Nol, and Mish as the solid townies.

 

WBK -  Wolfie seems a little quiet, having a hard time getting any feeling from him.

 

Mish – I get the town vibe, and your doc claim seems valid.

 

Cloud – I get the feeling he’s mafia, nothing concrete though.

 

Songstress -  I am not sure.  Song doesn’t do a ton of posts, but the ones she makes are in my opinion informative, valuable posts.

 

Nolder – I think he’s town.  He’s gone above in beyond being helpful/defending me and spending lots of time in the spotlight. Oh! And no, I was saying ‘Yep’ that I was on, not the cop.

 

S'all I got at the moment, there were a lot of things that've changed as the days have gone.  Anyone that voted for Red's lynching though is suspect.

 

 

Okay so this is some bloody sheepswallop here.  My thoughts on Hally were revolved around a couple of ideas that don't stand as strongly in light of the ISO, which I did not expect.  Here was the rundown of my casing on Hally, strong connections with tress and Nol, very bad reactions (or lack thereof) when voted, not contributing, not making the mistakes that first timers usually do (which I looked at as being coached), and popping up when her name was mentioned which meant lurking.  

 

Obviously any connection to Red didn't matter once Red passed.  If we had time Hally would be grand info, but frankly we do not.  Thus: Unvote.  

 

This game must have an experienced player as mafia.  Two newbies would have to be damn lucky and almost completely inactive to manage this.  

 

Because everything keeps coming back to Tress, Nol, and myself.  

 

All three of us have had a moderate to blegh mafia game and it leaves too many options open.  Traditional mafia is 9 people, 2 scum 1 doc 1 cop 5 regular town.  Anything less than that is a disadvantage, right?  This is a good instance of that.  Strangely, I want to test WBK.

 

 

Also, I think that Cloud has played a mafia's game.  It is just the little things I picked up on in reread.  Nobody here is making clear mistakes, but everyone is making overt ones.  If you need more proof of how linked everybody is just look at the one example with a focus on hally above.  I begin to think that my death may serve best because of the info gained from it, but I fear that if this happens then Nol or Tress will no longer be of use and one will eliminate the other in the night.

Since I think Hally is town now that leaves 6 slots with only one open.  The odds of two mafia being side by side are, in this instance, 1 in 72.  Thus either mafia is Cloud and Nol or WBK is mafia if you believe me and Hally.  

 

Yeah, I recognize this case has a lot of "if" in it.  I am working on substantiating it but am putting an idea out first.

there very possibly is.  I hate taking a shot in the dark but I know we have someone between hal and WBK.  In light of the evidence at hand I have to go WBK.  My pushes on hal have happened for a number of reasons across the game, now you have read them all.  However Hally has done a moderate job of playing.

 

(Btw Hally, I hope none of this is offensive to you, you truly are doing well for this to be your first game.  I jumped in three at once when i started too.  Haha it seems that I become a worse scum hunter every game now.  Theres so much metagaming and posturing.)

After reading post #351 where Darthe copied most of the things Hallia said I got a more town feel from her. Before I thought there was a connection between her and Tress, but that doesn't really seem to be the case. 

 

I like to hear more from Kronos before deciding though. 

 

 

P.S. What is it with everyone always thinking that I'm scum? I swear, I need to know what I do wrong so I can practice actually not getting lynched when I'm town.

The only person I am sure is mafia is Darthe I don't know who his partner would be. The way he's pushing on Hallia and coming up with theories about how she must be mafia partnered with a vet leaves me suspicious but that could be exactly what Darthe wants us to think when he goes down. Mish, WBK, Songstress, and Cloud haven't really talked as much as I'd have liked. I have no clear impression on any of them that would lead me to believe they're Darthe's partner either. If I absolutely had to narrow it down I'd say it's either WBK or Cloud but that's based on almost nothing.

 

So in short the only person I'm sure is mafia and am willing to vote right now is Darthe. Everyone else seems pretty equally suspicious. I'm hoping that with another lynch and kill it will become clear who the last mafia is. But that's only going to matter if we can pull it together and consolidate on someone.

I'd prefer Darthe myself.  The way he switched away from pushing a lynch on Hallia while linking her with me (quite without warrant) and Nol (one of which ABSOLUTELY MUST be mafia according to him), then in the next breath decided she was town, was decidedly odd.

 

My next strongest read is on Kronos, but that's the direction Darthe is pushing now. 

 

Strangely, I'm actually beginning to wonder if the mafia team isn't Darthe and Mish.  Big risk for a small mafia team with a 50% chance of having a doc to counterclaim, but she's following right along with him now and I'm not comfortable with that.

Well I don't think so. The case speaks for itself. If he is town Darthe has played the strangest game I've ever seen and I think most of us can agree on that. If everyone wanted to lynch me for voting someone who was scummy that's whatever. If it happens it happens I guess. I'm confident he's mafia though so I'm not worried about it.

Nol, lets be frank.  If I was mafia I would not have kept you alive to contest me.  With how vocal I have been this game I would have killed you and taken it over practically uncontested.  Sure, it would cause some hiccup to do so but we have each lived this long for the purpose of creating this WIFOM.  I swear your blind nature towards me is the most suspect thing from you all game, and that only because I happen to know my alignment.  I am expecting that you would have done the above as well, knowing the risk of leaving me alive and able to get you lynched another day, and once that hit me you became town in my eyes.  Just take a bit, step back, and seriously contemplate this.  What would I have to gain from keeping you alive?
