Arez (Emperor Jagang) v. TMD(Elric of Melnibone) - The Sword of Truth Novels / Elric Novels

 

Emperor Jagang

 

Jagang is the Emperor of the Imperial Order and the first dream walker born since the great war. He uses this innate ability to enslave gifted Sisters of both the Light and Dark and forces them to use their powers to further his causes. Jagang believes in the ideals of the Fellowship of Order and allowed his soldiers to brutalize and attack innocents as they saw fit.

 

Elric

 

Elric is described by his creator, in the first book, Elric of Melniboné, as follows:

 

It is the colour of a bleached skull, his flesh; and the long hair which flows below his shoulders is milk-white. From the tapering, beautiful head stare two slanting eyes, crimson and moody, and from the loose sleeves of his yellow gown emerge two slender hands, also the colour of bone.

 

Elric was the last emperor of the stagnating island civilization of Melniboné. Physically weak and frail, the albino Elric must take drugs—later retconned to mean special herbs—in order to maintain his health. In addition to herb lore, his character becomes an accomplished sorcerer and summoner, able to summon powerful, supernatural allies by dint of his royal Melnibonéan bloodline. Unlike most others of his race, Elric possesses something of a conscience; he sees the decadence of his culture, and worries about the rise of the Young Kingdoms, populated by humans (as Melniboneans do not consider themselves such) and the threat they pose to his empire. Because of his introspective self-loathing of Melnibonéan traditions, his subjects find him odd and unfathomable.

Warning. This intro contains some spoilers from the book series "The Sword of Truth" not really mayor ones, but there are som nontheless.

 

 

 

The quest to eliminate magic from this world is never over.. Once the Old world was purged, the new world was discovered, and with it, uncountable numbers of magical creatures.

But Emperor Jagang wasn't known for being lazy, neither for giving up. He was zealous when it came to his creator blessed task. Eliminating any and all magic in the world to create fairness for all human beings.

 

 

 

 

When the New world was finally purged, there was peace at last. Or atleast for a time being. Soon after, a Gate appeared at the border between the old world and the new one, a gate as which has never been seen before. It spanned from one side of the mountainpass to the other. And from it, thousands of foreign soldiers appeared.

 

 

At first it didn't bother the Emperor, such tiny forces were eliminated Instantaneously, but soon after, creatures who possessed magic came through. These creatures were powerful beings, bringing with them utter destruction.

His blood boiled as observed the battleground through the eyes of a Sister of the dark. With every blast, hundreds of soldiers died, and hundreds more were injured.

He commanded his sisters and wizards to hold the force there until he could arrive.

 

When he atlast had made it to the event horrison, the battle was still raging on. He felt proud when he saw his subjects charge against the enemy with no fear. The anger, uncontrollable anger. NO MAN would be allowed to kill his subjects in this way. NO ONE using magic has a right to their own will. ALL will be eradicted or subjected to his will.

 

Nicci. Do something about this mess.. Make me a passage through this turmoil.

 

After the command had been issued, sister Nicci unleased a devastating bolt of thunder, containing both subtractive and additive magic. It killed thousands of both Jagangs soldiers and his enemies.

There appeared to be a man standing at the portal. Jagang commanded that he be taken to him at once, and the servents lifted his chair and carried him on. When he was close enough, Nicci suddenly convulsed and fell limp to the ground.

 

YOU WILL REGRET DOING THAT. I WILL BREAK EVERY PART OF YOUR BONE BUT I WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO DIE.

 

The servants hurridly put down his chair. Jagang repressed his anger and sat on the spot patiently waiting for the man to approach. The battle raged on around him, but non went close. He had an aura of death hanging over him which seemed to have a devestating effect on the enemies troops... So everything he had to do was, sit and wait.
