NFL Weekly Pick'em: Playoff Edition!

Playoff Format.

1) Everyone is eligible.

2) Every uses the point totals achieved so far as a pot.

3) Each person may bet on the games each week for any amount of their pot. You may split your bet however you want between multiple teams.

4) Each game will be ranked with an odds payout.

5) If you pick the winner, you win points. If you pick the loser, then you lose the amount wagered.

6) The Super Bowl bet will include a tie breaker bonus for total number of points scored. So you pick the team AND the total points.

7) Highest points total at the end, wins the Pick'em.

Odds amounts will be set similar to the Regular Season but instead of 2-point, 3-point, and 5-point games. They will be 2:1, 3:1, and 5:1 payouts for specific winners. No Hail Mary games in the Playoffs. EDIT: In trying to setup the first week's matrix, this simple format does not seem to be working out too well. Therefore, I am just going to have to set individual odds based upon the Vegas point-spreads. If anyone has objection, please let us know.

In this way, your points from the regular season help you now. So Ishy would have the natural advantage since he has the most points, so he could theoretically play it safe. TGIems has fewer points so would need to play some risk.

Wildcard Weekend

2:1 Odds

Baltimore Ravens : Favored by 6 1/2 against the Colts.

Green Bay Packers : Favored by 7 1/2 against the Vikings.

3:1 Odds

Houston Texans : Favored by 4 1/2 against the Bengals

4:1 Odds

Seattle Seahawks : Favored by 3 over the Redskins

5:1 Odds

Washington Redskins : Dog by 3 against the Seahawks

Cincinnati Bengals : Dog by 4 1/2 against the Texans

6:1 Odds

Minnesota Vikings : Dog by 7 1/2 to Packers

7:1 Odds

Indianapolis Colts : Dog by 6 1/2 to Ravens

Weekly Props (if there are objections to prop bets, let us know)

If Andrew Luck is sacked for 7 or more times, payout 2:1

If Adrian Peterson AND Arian Foster both rush for over 100 yards each, 3:1

If Baltimore Ravens Defense hold the Colts to less than 300 yards total offense, 2:1

If Aaron Rodgers leads the Packers to a game winning 4th Q drive, 3:1

If RGIII leaves the game with an injury, 2:1

If Christian Ponder AND Russell Wilson both pass for over 300 yards each, 4:1

I hope everyone plays and enjoys this format!

@SamVines - Do you have the odds backwards for the Vikings and Colts?  Seems like you gave bigger odds for the team that was less of an underdog.

Or, since picking the favored team is both 2:1, should they both be at 6:1 for picking the dog?

It is more of a personal thing. I didn't agree with the betting lines. I think a Colt upset would be more unlikely/shocking than a Viking upset. Especially considering last week's game where they actually beat the the Packers once already.
